Rosicky Set to Sign for Arsenal 22 May, 2006

Breaking news today is that the Bundesliga’s record signing Thomas Rosicky is in talks with Arsenal. He left the Czech Republic ‘pre world cup’ training camp in Austria to travel to North London, and it’s understood that he passed a medical today and is now finalising a deal, it was the Czech coach Karel Bruckner who spilt the beans:

“I am surprised it did not come to light earlier. We have tried to keep our promise to keep quiet but I must now admit that Tomas is undergoing medical tests.”

He has recently been in negotiations with Athletico Madrid but they were unable to agree on a transfer fee. He signed from Sparta Prague in 2001 for £18m so I expect the fee will be in the region of that or more. This hefty price tag is testiment to the 25 year old’s talent and I anticipate seeing one of europes best midfielders in the famous red and white of Arsenal next season. He is an exiting playmaker who scores plenty of goals and could be the more offensive replacment to Patrick Vieira.

Arsenal have refused to comment on the matter but expect to see some sort of official confirmation in the next few days.

Since my last post I have changed the look and feel of the site and I’ve given it a header image which I chose over the one I showed you on the previous post, looking back that one…it’s quite shit actually; but I’m very proud of the one I’ve got now! :D Also I have added a new ‘Arsenal Stats’ page which you can view by clicking the tab at the top.

If you read my article before about Roberto Carlos you will remember I mentioned that my’s friends mate is a Chelsea youth player and whilst having a look at the new dressing rooms he came across some new player’s lockers that haven’t been unveiled to the press yet. I’ve already told you about Roberto Carlos and said there was more names, and I’m told one of which was Andrei Shevchenko.

There is no doubting that Shevva is a real talent and would be a great addition to any squad in the world. It is widely known that Chelsea are interested and if my sources are correct then he has signed for the russians. He is 29 and is still in great form so you can understand that Milan are desperate to keep him but I think that it will soon be announced that he is the latest purchase by Roman Abramovich.

In other transfer news, Sol Campbell, our goalscorer in Paris is rumored to be joining Fenerbahce for something like 8million. Before the final I was desperate for Wenger to send him elsewhere but he did have an excellant game and he may be coming back to the old Sol we used to know. However I always assumed he’d go on a free transfer so if we were to be offered anything like that eight million pound figure then I don’t think anyone would turn that down. However the Turks deny having any talks with the Sol.

Thanks for reading.
