Our hopes of signing Saviola have been shattered as Wenger thinks we have enough attackers.
“We are not interested in Saviola at all, I have enough forward players. We have bought Rosicky. We have Ljungberg, van Persie, Reyes, Henry, Adebayor, Walcott, Bendtner, Aliadiere and Lupoli. Where do I put the strikers?”
Ok, that’s fair enough however 3 of them I would consider out and out midfielders/wingers, 3 or 4 of them are probably still reserve players which ony leaves 2 or 3 proper strikers. I though Wenger needed to add at least one more top forward to our squad, and I was hoping we might get Torres. Now I’m thinking, if Wenger is going to be how he usually is in the transfer market, we haven’t got a hope of beating Chelsea and I wonder if Wenger has come to terms that we are no longer title contenders? Because I havent. If Wenger doesn’t sign at least one more big name I really do think we haven’t got a chance. Sorry to be so negative but if we came 4th last season, now this season we have no Bergkamp, no Pires and no Campbell but with Rosicky it’s really not a huge increase in talent. Hopefully Wenger will make a couple of signings and sort things out, but we have to hope.
One player we are being strongly linked with is Gigi Buffon, I really think if we had him and Jens we would be so much more confident at the back. However he want’s to stay in Serie A with a move to Milan looking likely. There is a strong posibility of him coming to England but we’d have to beat Man U to him. Also something that I didn’t personally want to hear is Wenger giving another reason not to sign someone, he says we wont be buying any Juve players as their wages are too high.
World Cup winner Pirlo of AC milan is looking to move away from Italy with Spain his preffered destination. Also I’m not sure if Wenger will want to buy him, he’ll have high wages too and he’ll probably say we’ve got enough midfielders. I am really getting annnoyed with his lack of signings, its not just this year but every year it the same, but I also think he is the best man in the world for making a signing but it will be for a few years time and not now. We can’t afford to lose more ground on Chelsea and with Liverpool making an effort to get in the mix, I am a worried fan.
The only man at the moment we really look like signing is West Brom’s Curtis Davies, but with him being valued at £10 million by the Baggies it looks unlikely. However he has caught Arsene’s eye.
“We still want to strengthen our squad at the back. We have lost Senderos now for the next three months and we have injuries.Djourou has been injured. Clichy is injured. At the back, if we can find one player who can play centre back, left back, then we are still open. I have not made an inquiry and I have not made a bid but I like Curtis Davies”
If that’s what Wenger was after, it does ask the question why the hell he let Carlos Salcido go to PSV. Arsene really does confuse me. The only explanation is that he has got his eyes on someone else, I do hope so.
Aparantly we are still interested in Ribery and Baptista but that’s probaly complete bollocks as “have enough forward players” now.
I’ve been a bit negative today, what would cheer me up dramtically is a new signing, the sun’s out and I feel good. Maybe today is finally the day.
