The new home kit for the 06/07 and 07/08 season goes on sale today, also today sees the opening of the brand new Armoury Store. Click on the link to see pictures and it does look quite impressive, I’m probably going to pay a visit either tommorow or thursday. I’m going to get my new shirt in my home town of Borehamwood where its only £31 or £38 with printing, a bargain. The question is what to get printed? It’s between Cesc, Kolo, Senderos, Henry, Rosicky, Bergkamp or i might get Theo Walcott who was interviewed about the new kit at our London Colney Training Centre:

”I like the look of it, it’s a nice fit and I’m looking forward to wearing it next season. Even if it’s in the reserves, I just want to play my football. Hopefully next season I can show what I can do.”

I wasn’t expecting him to say that, I hope he does get a chance with the full team this year, it’s a shame to waste such talent. I’ve been to see him at the reserves once and I was really impressed with him, he should definatly be on the bench for us, ready to come on and cause a shock, a bit like Lennon for England in Germany. Also Thierry Henry had something to say about the new kit:

”It’s nice to go back to red and white, it’s like one of the old school shirts. I liked the redcurrant but I think Arsenal for some reason belong in red and white so I’m happy to see its return.”

I personally liked the redcurrant kit too and I know that some other gooners don’t, I thought it was a nice touch for the last season at Highbury. However I am glad to be back in the traditional red and white. To celebrate the launch of the new kit I’ve added a new Kits page (www.the-cannon.com/kits). At the moment they only go as late as 1990 but I will put in the older shirts soon.

Also Kolo Toure had a word saying that he hopes it can bring us the premiership title. It’s not going to happen though if we don’t make any signings. At the moment this is how Chelsea and Arsenal will probably shape up at the start of the season bearing in mind injuries and possible transfers.

I really don’t think we have much of a chance beating that side to 1st place as it currently stands. We desperatly need a signing and the player who I said looks most likely to sign, Curtis Davies has just had an offer of £8.5m from Pompey, who musn’t be getting Sol I guess now. Portsmouth have shown more ambition in this transfer market than Arsenal as have Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City and others. To have any kind of fighting chance we need to bulk up the squad. Another player we’ve been vaguly liked with is Feyenoord striker Dirk Kuyt who’s taken a few days off to consider his future, but Arsene has said we won’t be buying any more forward players this summer.

Ok well I’m off to buy my new shirt, hopefully Arsene buys a new player. Have a good day.
