[...] Arsenal centre-back William Gallas picked up a thigh injury last week and it was feared he could be out until the end of the year. Not such a bad injury and we’re got suitable cover but it would’ve meant he’d have missed the trip to Stamford Bridge on the 10th December. Today news broke that Gallas might make an early recovery and is aiming to play in the Porto game. This is great news for Arsenal and for Billy who must’ve been distraught at the news of missing the trip to his former club. I’m sure he’s been working his very hardest to regain his fitness in time and it looks like he’ll make the trip to Chelsea. Wenger has been talking to Arsenal TV about Gallas’ recovery and our other injuries; this is what he had to say: “Gallas will not play against Fulham and Tottenham could be a bit premature - but he has a chance to be available for Porto. At the moment we have Tomas Rosicky and Gallas both looking extremely good and close to coming back again. I do not think Rosicky is ready [for Bolton], but he has a chance to be available for Fulham. Lauren and Abou Diaby, meanwhile, remain on course to return early next year. Lauren is practising with the group now so that is very good news and Diaby we think he will be available in January. [...]

Ok where to start... Games just finished... what a night of mixed emotions (mostly frustration and tearing of hair). The first 85 minutes was the most frustrating yet this season. We basically created a few half chances, maybe 1 clear chance and to tell you the truth, i wasnt so sure that we could even come back with a draw... Ok the positives... Toure was a usual fantastic, senderos played fairly well, flamini was in his usual "running about" moods, freddie helped out the back 4 more than once, Hleb was everywhere, Lehmann was pretty solid and RVP did fairly well overall, Cesc was pretty good in attack and Walcott saved our butts.

The bad - The first half was a shocker, our passes were wayward, players looked unsure of what to do and communication between players was absent. Henry was invisible (could've been sent off in the 10 minutes of anger he had and it looked like Toure not Titi was carrying the team), Eboue had a shocker of a game apart from the goal - he gave the ball away so much and was often caught out of position (once he was in central midfield and a ball was lobbed into right back and i was sure they'd score), Clichy didnt play well, Baptista has still alot of convincing to do and I am pretty sick of the 4-5-1.

In the 2nd half once RVP pushed up a little more and switched to the right, the game totally changed. When RVP was taken off I was shocked and I think so was he. I expected maybe Matty to be taken off for Baptista but I suppose "Wenger Knows". Despite our dominance im not entirely sure that we fully deserved the win. Hamburg looked particularly dangerous on the counter (much like we used to do) although our 3rd goal was a beauty.

Anyways full credit to the boys for not giving up and although i watched it on telly, the crowd sounded pretty sharp tonight. Up with the Gunners!

Walcott to start? good news.. shd be an open game since Hamburg have nothing to lose...

IMHO i think Freddie is being played by Wenger based on his past reputation..
i like him a lot but he is no longer the old Freddie (and he actually is still young :))
shame about Edu though

What i'm sick off is the fact that we HAVE to score in the first 20 minutes. With all the talent we have, we should be able to win games at any time and any situation. For me this is a BIG problem and somehow the prof has to figure a way to overcome. I reckon we need more width and yeah maybe Freddie coming back isnt such a bad thing. Ab Fab needs a rest, so does Titi. Hleb has been fantastic, RVP needs to be shifted on to the right and we have to revert to the 4-4-2 pronto (today would be fantastic). I will be sad to see Aliediere leave and it would be disasterous if Bendtner, Lupoli, Gilbert or Muamba were allowed to leave the club. But thats for another day. For now I will be satisfied with a win against Hamburg

Congrats on the new url, I like it.

I think having Gilberto back might be the biggest plus for the squad ahead of Hamburg. And maybe Ljungberg can get out there and show these kids how to put the ball in the back of the net.
