Bring the Phones and Banknotes anyway. 9 December, 2006

Cashley Cole

Yesterday the club released this statement saying anyone bringing the inflatable phones or fake banknotes that would be ejected from the ground. Fair enough if the club says they don’t like the abuse that we will give Cole but they should be able to stop us for taking these objects in. It’s not as if they are knives and guns. I’d love to be going to this match, I for one would definitely be taking the big phone and banknotes in, obviously I wouldn’t be waving them about as I entered the stadium but once I was safely inside and the game had started I’d get them out. Even if we don’t mange to have the phones and banknotes I’m sure it’ll be great fun at the Bridge tomorrow, win or lose. I’d love to be going, it’s going to be an amazing game to be at; if anyone wants to give me an early Xmas present you know where I am.

Arsene Wenger has been saying ‘we should respect what Cole did for us”. What’s that? Get greedy and write a book about how we ruined his career? Obviously as the manager of Arsenal he has to say these nice things about Ashley Cole, however we the fans are allowed to voice exactly our opinions. When Gallas left Chelsea the Club sent out statements saying how he’s disrupted the club and just wanted money (it’s does beg the question why they wanted Cole to replace him but oh well) whereas Arsenal picked out what Cole had done for the club. That’s class. Chelsea do not have class.

Cole

I absolutely hate Chelsea; I hate them more than Spurs. Not just because they are cocky bastards but because they have ruined football. I suppose that means I hate Abramovich more but still Mourinho is a twat, Drogba is a twat, Cole is a twat, Essien is a twat…they are all twats. I’d love for us to beat them tomorrow, it really would be great for this club and who knows, we could consider ourselves title contenders again. Well maybe not but we’d be getting close to it. I believe we can beat them, Thierry believes we can beat them and I think most Gooners will say we can beat them if we perform like we know we can.

Yesterday it was announced that Djourou will be fit, that’s a massive relief otherwise we probably would’ve have to of put Hoyte in central defence. We’ve got Eboue on the right who’ll need to have a big game defensively to stop Cole’s surging runs, could you imagine if Cole scored tomorrow? Oh God I don’t even want to think about that…So this is how our back four will shape up:

Then for the rest it’s a bit harder to pick, I think Wenger will go with a 4-5-1 but I’d like to see two strikers. Below is the midfield and attack I think will start tomorrow and below that is what I would pick.

I’d really like Baptista to start but I really don’t know where he’d fit in, I’ve got this horrible feeling that he’ll go back to Madrid at the end of his loan and I’m pretty sure Reyes will want to stay there. We’ll just have to see how it goes. It will be interesting to see what team Arsene does actually go for. I just can’t wait for the game to start. Remember this game isn’t just about Ashley Cole, of course it’s a big part of the game as it’s the first time he plays against Arsenal but at some point we need to forget that and concentrate on winning the game.

Enjoy the game people, happy weekend.

good for you -

IF WE ALL COME ALONG WITH THE NOTES AND PHONES THEY CAN’T DO SHIT.

great piece – these are not knives – ejection will set a seriously dangerous precedent and the old bill won’t care -

it looks like Arsenal are adhering to Chelski demands – nothing more.

So show some balls gooners – lets give that greedy cunt a reception he will never forget.

2. Gunner 8 - 9 December, 2006

too right…

I am with you on the line up chef

but I think the first midfield will start as a 4-4-2

while theo and beast will come on with 70mins gone

I just hope we have some dignity and attack with flair and passion

Can’t agree more Chef. I wish I was going myself- NOTHING would stop me chucking it at that money grabbing cock dribble. Are they in dreamland expecting us not to give it to Cashley Tweedy after he wrote that shite and went to me the russians behind our backs whilst pretending nothing happened with that Barnett wanker?

Line up wise I would like to include Beasty for power but I really dont know whether he would be a help as he has never played this fixture before. Anyway I expect a 442 as i dont think Adebayor cant take on their defense on his own. What ever happens let’s show Cashley how wrong he was.

COME ON YOU GUNNERS EIE

4. Chel$ki v Arsenal Preview « The View From Block Eleven - 9 December, 2006

[...] Overall it will be a very, very tough game. If we lose it will not be the end of the world, and what with the teams behind us winning today it means Wigan on wednesday will be more important that the Chelsea game. I think I have said enough. Bring on tomorrow’s game and don’t forget to those who are going, make sure you give that little prick all he deserves. As The-Cannon said, ”Bring the phones and Banknotes anyway” It’s complete bollocks about the whole Ejection from the stadium business. We’re not terrorists. We just would like to kill one person. If thats a problem, then fair do’s but perhaps if the games over in any respect I don’t see any harm in one of our players Attacking cole, perhaps Jens with a Bayonet. Alternatively just kick him up in the air, so high he lands on top of Earls Court. 5. Gunnerrific » Chelsea Battle Imminent - U.S. Steps Back - 10 December, 2006

[...] There are a couple of interesting points from the arsenal blogs. Goodplaya, like Arsene Wenger, is quite worried about the potential for violence. The statement that Arsenal made about player abuse really only incites the gooner crowd further. Meanwhile The Cannon implies that if the gunner supporters all show up with bank notes, they can’t turn away everyone. True, true. The tension mounts! [...]

I’m going and agree that we shouldn’t be banned from taking phones and/or notes but we have been. I’m not taking any cos I don’t wan2 get kicked out or banned! TEN MEN WENT TO BED WENT TO BED WITH ASHLEY

9. lasagnechef - 10 December, 2006

JD, so so jealous of you. If I were you I’d take ‘em but then bring them out at the end or something if you’re worried about getting kicked out cos it’ll be over anyway. BUt I know some people are bringing them anyway which is good.

What a point mate, i nearly knocked over my christmas tree when flamini scored. shame about essien but i didnt expect anything from todays match. and i called for baptista to play instead of flamini. poor judgement on my part then.

Cant complain about the result i guess as i didnt have high hopes. Good performance by the boys. Hleb worked hard as usual but gave the ball away far too many times so did Clichy. Djorou solid at the back as with Senderos (the less impressive of the 2). Gilberto was a monster in midfield. Fantastic. One of the best performers. He was also such a good captain calming his players down and leading by example, he even got stuck in a couple of times! RVP did his best. Ade was fantastic. This boy is really starting to change my perception of him. Cesc was alright i guess, quiet by his standards. Flim flam… hmm jury’s still out but cant complain about the goal. Well worked.

The only downside was when Fred was brought on. Honestly and ashamed as i am to admit it, as soon as it was announced he would come on for RVP i thought this is it. We’re not gonna win this and it might not be his fault for the goal but it did come. I just feel like it was a mistake not to change up the squad a little after Wright-Phillips and Robben came on. Too much pace, way too much. I would have killed for Walcott to come on to balance it out a bit. Overall we were alright and were really lucky towards the end.

F*** Cuntley.
