Adebayor ready to take over the world… 21 December, 2006

Mwhahahahahaha!
Well when I say ‘World’, I really just mean England; And I say ‘take over’ I more mean to say ‘dominate football’. The Togolese striker, Emmanuel “The Super-Sub” Adebayor has said that one day Arsenal will be the team to beat in England. This is what he told the Daily Mirror:
“When I look at our squad I think we’ll be unstoppable within the next two seasons. With talented guys like Emmanuel Eboue, Cesc Fabregas, Johan Djourou and Theo Walcott, we’re the future of the English game and everyone can see that now.”
Ade is still quite young himself and he’ll probably be in that incredible team of the future. I think this is the one thing that keeps Arsenal fans from going insane. These past couple of years we’ve had some ups, but mainly downs and now our target is forth place, alot different from what most Gooners’ are used to. However they all know that will the young team that Wenger has been building up we will be a major force in football in a few years time. This is how I see our team looking as it stands with no transfers:
Goalkeeper: Vito Mannone
Back 4: Eboue, Djourou, Senderos, Clichy
Midfield: van den Berg, Fabregas (c), Diaby, Efrem
Strikers: Walcott & Van Persie
However, a few years after that we would still have a great team:
Goalkeeper: Lee Butcher
Back 4: Hoyte, Djourou, Connolly, Traore
Midfield: Walcott, Denilson, Muamba, Merida
Strikers:Bendtner & Stokes
So the future is very, very bright for Arsenal and I think any team in the world would be proud to have the promising young squad that we have. Obviously those teams above will change and there will be transfers in and out but there is just two possible teams of the future. I reckon Cesc will become captain after Henry moves on, and then Connolly will take over after Fabregas. It’s a very exiting future but we have to concentrate on present times, those good young players will leave if we’re no longer a top flight club and the whole plan will be ruined. As for this season I reckon we are looking at third or fourth, a nice stable position but there’s have to be a major disruption to either Chelsea or Man United for us to squeeze into second or possibly first. I thought with both Cech and Cudicini injured I thought Chelsea would slip and drop points all over the shop opening up that 2nd place but praise must go to them for staying up there.
Arsene Wenger hasn’t given up on the title though, we may be 14 points behind Manchester United but Arsene is still fighting. This is what he had to say:
“It looks far away, and that is why I believe at the moment it would look a bit pretentious to say that we will be champions this time - but on the other hand, I have not given up. I feel there is potential in the team and we are not missing a lot. Perhaps we are lacking that bit of concentration and the games at home where we are always 1-0 down at set-pieces. Overall what makes me positive is this team can make a great comeback because they have a special character and special qualities.”

It’s nice that he’s still trying and I know that he won’t stop until it’s mathematically impossible, he’s said that before, and even then he won’t just give up, he’ll still push the team to do their very best. I think Arsene knows that it’s pretty unlikely for us to be champions but at least if we are up there pushing the top two then if they slip up, we are there to pounce.
Not alot of news around today either, you’d think with the bust Xmas period there would be. That’s your lot for today, hopefully I’ll have a Blackburn preview tomorrow but it’s my birthday so I don’t know. I’ll try anyway. See you later.
p.s. I almost forgot, the Liverpool Carling Cup game has been moved to the 9th January so the semi-final origionally organised for the 10th will have to be moved too, more on that nearer the time.

I dont think players will leave if we finish mid table, ie below 4th. Only Henry might have left but even he I think is now committed to the club to the end of his career.
fabregas might be one to go but he seems very level headed and with us for the long haul. players like ade would not leave, where could they go that is better than Arsenal? a team like madrid, barca or Man u would not take them and anyone else is a step down.
only players who are looking far better than the team they are in might be poached but I cant think of any of those at Arsenal this season.
Agree with the ZapGaz
Plus I think your side is still a bit young and players like Denilson (phwew almost called him Kleberson again) and Bendtner will make it in the side before van den Berg and Efram
My side in 3 years with no transfers 4-3-3
Almunia
Eboue Toure (c) Djourou Clichy
Hleb Diaby Fabregas
RvP Bendtner Adebayor
with a bench of
Manone Hoyte Senderos Traore Denilson Muamba Walcott
And 3 years after that still 4-3-3
Manone
Eboue Djourou Senderos Clichy
Fabregas(c) Diaby Denilson
Walcott Bendtner Adebayor
with a bech of
Butcher Hoyte Connolly Traore Muamba Merida vdBerg Stokes
The futures bright- the futures Arsenal!
The only problem is giving all these young guns a proper run- I think we have too many youngsters to keep happy- up front adebeyor, RVP & even Aldiere are all still young- then we have Bentner, Stokes & Lupoli wh are all doing well on loan- on top of this I cant see Wenger adding ANOTHER young forward at some stage! then theres are mid- Theo, Cesc, Diaby, Merida, Muamba, Denilson & plus I know there are others but dont know enough about the rest to comment- as for the back well everyone already knows about djouru, senderos, eboue, clichy, hoyte, ect!
one thing i got to say is Gilberto has been brilliant this season & surely this is proof we need some more players with experiance to seriously challenge?
well got to go- come on you gooners- im goin to see them in jan v man utd!
sorry mean to say that i CAN see wenger adding another forward at some stage!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY IN ADVANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i have a feeling Bendner will leave if he doesnt get a spot on the bench at least by next yr and it will be such a pain to see him leave, as with Lupoli… Stokes is in the same situation. We have 3 top prospects and its very unlikely that all 3 will stay.
Optimistic point of view. This would be the best-case-scenario for Arsenal but you’re assuming that everybody pans out and plays at a high level.
True. However Fabregas and Walcott I believe are the best prospects in the world along with Freddy Adu. I think one of them can easily become the best player in the world…if all goes to plan.
The Pinky and the Brain, The Pinky and the Brain
One’s a Genius and the other insane!
well me being in usa i know alot about freddy one thing i kno is he better go to Europe or he’ll be a complete loser and mess his entire career up
Well we can’t win the league now without both Chelski & United having very bad patches. But I wouldn’t rule that out altogether.
A few injuries, loss of form and confidence, then who knows.
If United lose to both us and Chelski, it’s only an eight point gap. And we’ve stormed back from worse.
Isn’t it pretty traditional for the Gooners to have a bad autumn, and surge forward in the spring?
It’s very much out of our hands, but not completely impossible.
So we should just concentrate on playing well and winning and see what happens.
As for the great teams of the future, to quote Bill the Bard, “There’s many a slip betwixt cup and lip”. But, for now, the prospects do look very good.
In Fifa 2007, i got stupid and sold him off to Charlton Athletics
.. he is pretty good, as I noticed, while playing with the old squad.
i am very happy becouse aresenal buy one player but he have to by samuel et’o of cameron else he will be the same with the last peremarlegue
