Weakened side make the trip to Bolton 14 February, 2007

Henry

Thierry Henry, Jens Lehmann and Mathieu Flamini are all out of the squad for tonight clash with Bolton. The Flam has picked up an ankle problem and I think Lehmann’s yellow card suspension only comes into effect until the Carling Cup Final. However I’m not sure why Titi has been rested for this fixture, we’ve always struggled at the Reebok and surely we need our best player? You could think Wenger has given up on the FA Cup or just that he has a lot of confidence in his players. Yesterday Arsene said he is keen to silence the doubters over our form up at Bolton so you’d think he’s want Thierry in the side? Also I’ve heard a rumour that Fabregas won’t play but it’s only a rumour.

There is some good news about the team though; Ljungberg and Hleb come back in after their injuries. We have been lacking wingers recently so this is great news. Freddie’s been out for quite a while so hopefully he can find his feet quickly as he might be needed tonight. Also Djourou who broke his nose against Wigan is available; if he wasn’t we may have had to play Gilberto at the back. So this is the team I reckon for tonight: Almunia, Hoyte, Toure, Djourou, Clichy, Hleb, Gilberto, Fabregas, Rosicky, Adebayor & Baptista. The only ones I’m not sure about are Baptista, Ljungberg and Gilberto; Aliadiere, Denilson, and Diaby may come in for any of them I’m not sure. It’s by no means a bad side but it’s definitely a weaker one.

Adebayor

I’m going to be honest with you, I’m nervous about tonight. Either Bolton or Arsenal will be out of the FA Cup tonight and will face Blackburn on Saturday. I really want us to go all the way the year. It’s scheduled to be the first final at Wembley and I want to be there. Hopefully Arsene hasn’t given up on the competition, I see no reason why he should. I think the key man tonight will be Adebayor; the boy always works his socks off every game and we’re going to need that tonight. We need to show Bolton that we’re not up there just to be pushed around and bullied. Baptista needs to unleash the beast inside of him, Almunia needs to be on top form and Toure needs to be a rock at the back. It will be a good night if we beat them; we’re far superior in quality to them so if we perform it should be a walk in the park.

Kick off is at 5 past 8 and it’s live on BBC 1 so there’s no excuse not to be watching. Valentines Day? It’s rubbish, watch the game. Match report to follow as always, thanks for reading.

I thibk we will do em tonight. Need to shut that fat pork chop eatin fuck Allardyce up.

Almunia,
Hoyte, Toure, Djourou, Clichy,
Hleb, Gilberto, Diaby, Rosicky
Baptista.
Ali

Ali deserves a start in something other than the league cup. The Beast too, and i thought he did well in patches in last game. His power and Ali mobility and pace would do well against the bolton defence. And id go with Rosicky as freddie will lack match fitness but might make a good impact sub along with Ade. Diaby for his powerful play cause it aint gonna be a pretty came.

2-1 to the Arse

2. lasagnechef - 14 February, 2007

Oh shit I totally fogot about Rosicky…

3. Proud Gooner - 14 February, 2007

deise s team cept adebayor for bap n maybe denilson for diaby.

4. Proud Gooner - 14 February, 2007

we will definitely require adebayor’s work rate and physicality to triumph in this. For all of Bap’s muscle still not convinced he relishes playing tough sides (note sheff utd as an example).

5. Bozman - 14 February, 2007

Henry was pretty bad last game, i am glad he isn’t in the squad, i think our stand ins are good enough.

6. les - 14 February, 2007

the great thing about having bbc coverage tonite is fat sam won’t do an interview where he talks utter c***. How i wish i was his son……….hahahaha…….

7. king-gunner - 14 February, 2007

I think a win for the gunners is on the cards; 2-1. Go Gunners.

8. Welsh Gooner - 14 February, 2007

Does anyone know if Senderos is suspended for the cup final? I’ve actually realised that Lehmann will be suspended for the Blackburn game on saturday (should we win tonight) rather than the cup final, but as Blackburn have yet to be added to our remaining fixture list yet it currently stands that he will miss the final.

9. Proud Gooner - 14 February, 2007

djourou would seem to be in tonights squad so either way it isn’t a major issue. Djourou is more than capable aside Kolo-sus.

10. DeiseGooner - 14 February, 2007

Senderos might just be yeah Welsh. Its a 3 game ban for a straight red aint it. So thats Wigan, Bolton (blackburn if we beat fat sams boyos) Chelsea.

11. Glo - 14 February, 2007

I have a feeling every Arsenal players will be up for this, the talk of Sam will hit him today and I will laugh after the game because we will win.

The way we have being fighting for our points this season against the bottom will definately help in todays game. No disrespect to Bolton but they play like the bottom team. It is like watching a the opposite of Liverpool. Liverpool long ball are a joy to watch. Bolton’s will get the same treatment because we don’t just pass and pass. We play the occassional long ball.

I have no doubt that we win the game. Why? Because all we have to do is play with anger and determination that we did in the last game. Hunger and Hunger…We don’t even have to play well.

12. GOONER ROCCA - 14 February, 2007

ALLARDYCE IS A FUCKING WANKER WHO LOOKS LIKE THE JOKER FROM BATMAN!!!! I fucking hate bolton dirty fuckers, we are due to beat them and i think we will regardless of the team, i hope Denilson does play because he proved against the SCUM that he cant be pushed around and he has real qaulity!!! ALLARDYCE IS A CORRUPT DODGY GEEZER WHO LIKE A BACKHANDER or should i say he likes about 10 BACKHANDERS just like the BBC told us!!! every Dodgy agent was linked to him. WE WILl SPANK BOLTONS ARSE’s COME ON YOU GUNNERS. RED ARMY!!!!!

13. AndyW - 14 February, 2007

Deluded southern jessies!!!!

14. SUPA JOHN McGINLAY - 14 February, 2007

I would just like to point out that ‘Gooner-rocca’ is an utter cock.

Enjoy the defeat tonight you southern tit.

15. gaya - 14 February, 2007

if the players are not as pissed off as i am anytime i hear bighead Sam talk about us then i dont know what will get them ticking. i would have hope that the team will look at this game as a any team the prepare to pay in the CL and go out there and do the business once and for all, cos am if other teams can take on them why not us. they say we dont like it up in our face but if you take any of our players and put in any rough team they still will play. anelka was not brought up in Bolton but he plays so what,s the talk all about

16. Wingston75 - 14 February, 2007

I’m predicting an offensive matchup. i think 5-zip, with the gunners triumphing past Juicy Jack’o'Lantern in the Bolton Goalzone. GO GUNNERS!!! U-S-A!!! alright, yeah, whoo.

17. AJ - 14 February, 2007

If you listen carefully to Arsene’s press conference on Arsenal.com, you will here him say that Lehmann is rested for tonight but Henry and everyone else will be in the squad. I think a few people might be surprised to see Henry playing tonight.

18. ayeeeeeeeeeeeee ! gunners piece of piss - 14 February, 2007

i quite agree with supa john mcginlay
gooner rocca is a cock, fucking yoghurt !

19. DeiseGooner - 14 February, 2007

The official site quotes him ““I will rest Lehmann, because Almunia plays, and Henry,” Wenger told Arsenal TV Online on Tuesday afternoon. “But everyone else will play.”

does that mean he will rest lehmann and henry
play almunia and henry ?

20. SUPA JOHN McGINLAY - 14 February, 2007

For all you misguided southern tarts, the arseholes team bus has just arrived ‘oop north’ (outside KFC – classy !!) and there is no Henry in sight. Fabregas limped off the coach too, so I guess he won’t be playing either. Ah well, could be worse, it could be an evening match on a cold night the middle of winter which we all know, southerners can’t stand cos they’re all G-A-Y, GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY.

Where were you at Aldershot ?

21. DeiseGooner - 14 February, 2007

outside KFC is it, that must be where you work supa john. dont forget to get fat sam his family bucket for his pre match snack

22. jackson - 14 February, 2007

2-1 to Arsenal! Alidiarre and Rosicky will Score!!!

23. Wingston75 - 14 February, 2007

KFC is american! ALRIGHT!!! Fat Sam is a secret US double agent, where the CIA pay him illegal funds to perform rimming services to sir alex ferguson, to keep ferguson drinking our fake whisky, which we use to raise funds to divert towards shooting poor colombian children.

Whereas fat sam takes bungs to pay for the upkeep of his vast cellar full of KFC bvargain buckets of chicken, which he hangs to mature, before licking off the mould like it were the congealed sweat from el hadj’s nutsack.

ALRIGHT! YEAH! WHOO!

fuinny, in the states, peoepl down south buttlove each other and sleep with members of their own family, and slaughter pigs in bizarre ways. Where in your country, it’s the other way round. You northern dudes do that. FREAKIN’ ‘A’ BUDDY!!! WAY TA GO!

But you don’t slaughter pigs in bolton, otherwise you would surely have disposed of fat sam by now?

Man, you guys are h.a.r.d., all that cold weather, taking a dump in your outside toilet. That’s sure neat…

I’m raging.

Next week, Arsenal and Man utd resume Champions League duty on Tuesday. They have played on the same night in each of the previous three “ITV nights” and on each occasion, that shambles have chosen United’s match to show on ITV1, while Arsenal play second fiddle on ITV4.

Even the London region doesn’t follow its own club. Are PSV a lesser draw than Lille? No it’s because these XXXXX’s have always favoured Man Utd.

Complain here – dutyoffice@itv.com because it is a disgrace!

26. arsenalist - 14 February, 2007

So Henry doesn’t make the trip at all or is he just not going to start?

27. Glo - 14 February, 2007

We won just like I said. I am very happy. Bogey what bogey?

28. arsenalist - 14 February, 2007
