Terry out of Carling Cup Final 22 February, 2007

John Terry was stretchered off last night in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw against Porto with ankle ligament damage. He’s just come back from a lengthy spell out and now it looks like he’ll be out for a while again. He picked up the injury just chasing the ball and it looked quite painful. He almost certainly would’ve captained Chelsea on Sunday against our reserves and now he’ll be watching from the stands. Marvellous.
As all eyes turn to the Mickey Mouse Cup Final on Sunday, Tomas Rosicky has taken some interest in the game. It’s well known that Arsene will field a weakened side but I’m sure the senior players would love to play in a cup final in Cardiff. If you read what he has to say he sounds as if he wants to be playing but I’d be extremely surprised if he does. He might possibly be on the bench but that’s about it. Henry definitely wont play, Lehmann is suspended but he wouldn’t have played anyway and Gilberto won’t play. Apart from that it could pretty much be anyone.

Thierry Henry and Arsene Wenger are confident we can overcome our 1-0 disadvantage in the 2nd leg against PSV and progress to the quarter finals. It’s going to be a tough task; we have to score but we must defend because an away goal for them would mean we need three. We’ll think about the 2nd leg nearer the time but Tuesday’s 1-0 defeat hasn’t done us any favours.
Before I go I have to say well done to Liverpool last night beating Barca 2-1. I wanted the scoucers win last night but wasn’t expecting anything. It’s a good result for anyone to win there so I have to congratulate them. The lucky bastards. A shorter than usual post this morning, I’ve got to go to college now. Have a good day.
