Is Henry leaving? Don’t have a clue. 15 June, 2007

I was certain Henry would be staying after last year, with him signing a new contract I thought this was all over and he’d just be an Arsenal player, but no. The rumours stared in the papers, which were probably inevitable, but I just dismissed them as ridiculous. However it seems more and more likely that there might be some truth in this and maybe he will be off to Barca and playing in red and blue next season (he could also be doing that at Arsenal in our new third shirt). I think any team in the world would be interested in Henry but I’d be very surprised if he was playing anywhere other than Barcelona or Arsenal next season.
Ronaldinho says he’s exited about the possibility of playing with Titi, and the man himself has said before how he’d love to play in the same team as the Brazilian star and Eto’o. However, Ronaldinho and Samuel Eto’o have apparently had a falling out behind the scenes at the Camp Nou and there is a chance we could see Eto’o as part of a swap deal. It sounds quite far-fetched, but if you think about it, it does make sense. If these stories of an argument with Ronaldinho are true then Eto’o could be looking to leave and it’s most players dream to play in the Premiership (or ‘Premier League’, I prefer the old name). If Henry left (touch wood) then we’d definitely have to find a quality replacement and Eto’o would fit the bill perfectly, I can see him and Van Persie working well. One thing though, he said the other day he wants to stay at Barca…but Henry said he wanted to stay at Arsenal too. Hmm.
He needs to make his mind up about it pretty quickly though. If he’s leaving it’s better for us to do it sooner rather than later so we have time to look for and find a replacement. Eto’o is one option, maybe Torres is, but most importantly I think Wenger must realise that this time he can’t just say our squad is strong enough or go out and get another youngster. He must buy big names.
This whole thing is really confusing at the moment but things may become a little clearer next week once the Spanish season is over.
One player we are being linked with is Ryan Babel. He’s just admitted he’d love to play for Arsenal under Wenger and has been as fan since a young age. The 20-year-old currently plays for Ajax and is doing well for the Dutch Under 21s side in the European Championship. I don’t know whether Wenger is actually interested in him but it’s good that we’ve got talented players that want to come.
And finally we managed to sign Håvard Nordtveit the 16-year-old Norwegian defender. I think the fee is about two million pounds depending on appearances. There’s a link here but I can’t read it. [EDIT] Wait, I found another link in English…he’s agreed on a 4 year deal and it will go through at the beginning of July.
I’m off now. Think it’s been a bit of a strange blog, not feeling very literate today…ergh. Have a good weekend

henry fuck you
hiren fuck you
hiren kiss my ass you spaggot
It will be cool to finally have a Norwegian back at Arsenal! Håvard will join the first team right away and will travel with the team on pre-season training…
Henry has given sooo much to us. Lets face it…the Wenger myth would not even exist w/out him. Henry has been carrying this team for ages. He has EARNED the right to move….and also EARNED our eternal gratitude. The time has com mon ami, we wish you well on yr travels.
Note to Wenger: no cheapos or kids please as replacement. And NO…the squad is NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO COPE W/OUT A QUALITY REPLACEMENT!!!
Henry will go no doubt it- although he is not the player he once was-I will be sorry to see him go- when fit he is still the only player we have who has the confidence to threaten the defences of the top three in the premiership. This is a blow to us and a boost to all other Premiership clubs.- and we thought last season was a disappointment!
Henry has been a legend, played at the top of his game for 7 years and been incredibly loyal to The Arsenal.
We have been privileged to have him grace our team for so long and can only wish him luck if he wants to play for Barca. After all it’s his career and perhaps he would look back with a tinge of regret if he doesn’t take this opportunity.
I for one, a diehard Gooner wish him well and thank him for stirling service.
I Spanien ligger killar med andra killar
henry is our all-time record goal scorer. a bit of respect please
Spanners! Titi ain’t goin nowhere.
Look at last year when he really had the option to go.
kudos henry! we appreciate your effort at highburry!! cya in champs league when Toure will screw you!

I wish Henry still be the Arsenol player
Another Baptista- Reyes situation. We move on Henry and receive a player in place of him who doesn’t want to be at Arsenal. Etoo wants to stay at Barca- no matter how good the player there is no point in signing someone how doesn’t want to be here. If Baptista had really wanted to be at Arsenal (and he didn’t) he would have signed for us last year. Fact is he was forced into the move by Madrid and thats one of the reasons why he didn’t perform. We’ll have the same situation with Etoo despite his undoubted quality. He’ll do nothing for us and Arsene will spout on about the adjustment etc.
more speculative bollox – bring on the new season when all you cunts can maybe calm down and concentrate on football
I genuinely think that people MIS-READ QUOTES SOMETIMES, and this is what causes media hype. It is a fact that Henry said:
“I’ve not taken any decision and my name is not up on any departures board. If something happens, I will tell everybody.”
Many Gunner fans seem to believe this means he wants to leave or thinking of leaving.
Well, I believe he is saying:
I do not plan or have taken an decision to LEAVE ARSENAL. And my name has not been put forward by the board as a player they would want to sell or intend to sell. HOWEVER, if something happens, (for example Barcelona gives Arsenal excellent offer that is hard to refuse, and they accept the offer, THEN I WILL TELL EVERYONE WHAT HAPPENED!!)
Quote:

It is a fact he has said many times he loves Arsenal, and wants to stay, and I choose to believe him. The only problem is that, now Barcelona have not won La Liga, will they really go for Henry to cheer up their fans?!
Henry wants to stay but truly in the footballing world (as Henry is saying), anything is possible.
good comment mate. hope you’re right
