Well after a signing there isn’t really any news around, hence the lack of activity on the site recently. I have been doing some working the background though don’t worry; I’m making all the new squad profiles from the squad page at the moment, you can see Eduardo’s below. The only thing really to talk about is Da Silva’s first interview which says the usual stuff someone says about joining a new club. Nothing really that exiting in there.

Eduardo Da Silva

I said before that this signing might be in addition to someone else, but that doesn’t look like that’s going to be Carlos Tevez. He’s being strongly linked with Manchester United and if they are interested then their bank balance would surely beat off any other clubs sniffing around. It’s quite worrying seeing all Liverpool, United and Chelsea boost their squads ahead of the new season. We have only signed a back up ‘keeper and a striker who is yet to prove himself. It’s quite worrying but I think another signing or two and we should be safely in that top 4.

The new away kit is out today, and if you pop down to the armoury a bit later you can see the famous Chapman bust and get your shirt signed by Theo Walcott.

5 young players have been given professional contracts ahead of the new season: Nacer Barazite the 17-year-old striker, Rui Fonte the strong forward who’s goal tally is looking quite good, Paul Rodgers who got the most appearances last year, Jay Simpson the scorer of Ashburton Grove’s first hattrick and Wojciech Szczesny the 17-year-old ‘keeper.

Right that about all the shit I can come up with today. Back to making the squad profiles. Hopefully there’ll be something more interesting to talk about soon.

I would not mind seeing us sign someone with a reputation…

2. gunner - 5 July, 2007

wenger please sign 1 more proven striker a winger who can play on either side a a wingback l and r

3. Sam - 5 July, 2007

good to see five youngsters sign pro contract. now we can we the youth carling cup.

As for the first team, i guess we need not worry, due to the fact that Arsenal Youngsters is make up with guy that have work together for the past two years.

Football is not about individual, but is a team game, that would be our edge definitely to other top 4 team.

4. BERRY - 5 July, 2007

hello fellow gunners..i see dudu has signed i saw on cannon someone said he was a good player .dont look to bad does he..what else is happening r we going to sign bakari sagna or not or anyone else seems a bit still at the moment..i would like to see another few signings i see man u are still spending big and spurs are to i wonder if we will …….i see senderos is still with us noone fucking wants him do they…people say we wont up r price for bakari sagna its stupid really considering we threw money away with henry…i thought athletic madrid would of made a nice offer for reyes now torres has gone….

5. ricky - 5 July, 2007

wenger please sign me. I am good footballer. please.

6. adafabregas - 5 July, 2007

“I would not mind seeing us sign someone with a reputation…”

Joey Barton has already been snapped up but Lee Hughes is still available.

7. KollerSweden - 5 July, 2007

We need yet another striker. Sure we’ve got Adebayor, RvP, Bendtner and Eduardo, but a proven striker like Tevez or Eto’o (I don’t belive one of those will be the one even thoug I think Tevez would be an exelent signing). But hey, if Eduardo can be a 30-goals-a-season-striker than I’m happy with the four, he’ll just have to beat the curse of the number 9 shirt first… But for now, I stand by my first feeling when the season ended, I want Tevez and I want Malouda, than I’d be really happy.. but most importantly, a new contract for Wenger would really push me over the top..

8. Eamonn - 5 July, 2007

Glad to see your not making stuff up when its a slow news day.
Or getting hysterical at the mere mention of our rivals signing a good player. Dissapointing to hear/read so many fans sounding off like idiots over the last few weeks.

I agree with the guys who write that the most important man to sign this season is AW because without his vision and expertese in almost every aspect of running the club we would be a mid table team.

To think that we are still a force despite what utd and chelsea have done is mostly down to this man not one player who wears the captains arm band. We are lucky to have him and I for one have faith in almost every thing he does.
Everyones human and even AW makes the odd mistake but despite that I’d take him over any manager in the world.
So what ever he’s up to be patient because he’s got eyes and informers working day and night to make arsenal the best club in the world.

9. Danish Gooner - 5 July, 2007

Wenger believes he can win the Pl and Cl on the cheap but those days are gone and Chelsea have upped the stakes considerably that is why a pair of superstars are needed Tevez or Obafemi or Huntelaar you wont get anywhere with bargain basement anymore and definetily not win the league with an also ran like Eduardo.

10. Daniel - 5 July, 2007

You seem to have a Brazil flag on da Silva’s profile above…he is Croatian.

11. Blog Head - 5 July, 2007

Daniel, Dude put your head back up your ass then make me a cup of tea, two sugars

12. Darkins - 5 July, 2007

Lee Hughes?

u must be having a fucking laugh mate the guys been in prison for the last 3 years.

Also other than being shit Joey Barton is also a racist wanker!

y would we want that skum at Arsenal?

13. KollerSweden - 5 July, 2007

I feel the dane is wrong, not only because I have to as a swede, but I still feel that when it comes to money it’s better to have it than to spend it. Arsenal needs to be a club that can spend 25 mil for a playser, but still can choose not to. If you look at what Scum spent for a player like Rio Ferdinand and compare it to what Wenger spent for Touré I feel we got the better end of the stick. Players like Fabregas, Diaby, Eboue, Clichy, RvP and Denilson costed us next to nothing, and they are still top players ready to win league titels and more, or will be in three years tops! As long as Wenger stays on course I feel we can win the leage and the CL with only a fraction of the cost that Chelsea tries to do it on.. And that’s a victory in it self..

14. GunnerGaz - 5 July, 2007

Is it me or is nobody else “bovverd”?
Im getting sick and tired of all the other top clubs ( and spurs) buying big, we’re getting left behind. We have scrapped into 4th place for two seasons on the run and it cant go on. Its getting a bit boring listening to the same old arguments about how the kds need 1 more year or we need to pay for the new stadium. 2 or 3 years ago the argument was about needing a new stadium to compete in the transfer market, well, whats going on? Im not interested in kids anymore, i want trophies, i want big name signings, i want a rich yank or whoever to take over the club, i want some explanations from the board. Everyone keeps raving about Arsene and Fabregas etc and trust wengers judgement, well yeah sure lets keep some of the youngsters but lets not get left behind, even west ham are spending big, its getting beyond a joke. I fear for my beloved Arsenal, we are becoming the laughing stock, im absoluteley gutted that man utd, liverpool and chelsea are pulling further away from us whilst spurs are coming up on the rails and no 1 at the emirates seem that concerned.

15. med - 5 July, 2007

DANISH GOONER ARE U JUST TRYING TO STIR UP CONTROVERSY?

Exactly what makes EDUARDO AN ALSO RAN AT 24? So he played in Croatia? But he did well there… He has been excellent at all level of play…

Please do not brandish phrases that you do not know the meaning of.

He fully deserves to be given a chance

16. Thom - 5 July, 2007

Danish Gooner is somewhat mistaken if he thinks Martins and Huntelaar are “superstars”. Huntelaar is pretty directly comparable to Eduardo. In fact, he’s got a better goalscoring record in a similar, mid-range league. As for Martins…well, he plays for Newcastle. Let Manure sign Tevez, we don’t really need him anyway. RvP, Adebayor, Eduardo and Bendtner should be good for fifty or sixty goals between them. And none of them are grotesquely ugly like Tevez…

17. Eamonn - 5 July, 2007

Gaz u twat why are you bothered?
Did you read the post above yours?
Fab. How good is he? OK I’ll ask you in a way you can understand. How much is he worth? £30-£40MILLION
Toure £15-20
V. Persie £15

Do you want me to go on?
Don’t blame the Kids for being left behind. WE MOVED HOME WE HAD INJURIES TO OUR TOP SCORERS!

18. Dave S - 5 July, 2007

To be honest I can’t see Sanga happening, unless say ljungberg gets sold, as it will just over congest that side of the pitch….I wouldn’t mind reyes just coming back and leaving the squad as it is, the only activity in the near future will be when Wenger goes to Canada to pick up some U-20 world cup players, maybe Gama from Portugal or the odd Argentine or Brazilian kid…..next round of match’s is on tonight, anyone interested in watching Vela play for Mexico can see it at fifa.com if you follow the right links…enjoy peeps

19. Thom - 5 July, 2007

And another thing…Spurs aren’t coming up on the rails ! They had one season where they should have got 4th place, then went backwards last year. Would you want any of the players they’ve signed ? Would you want fat Tom Huddlestone guffing up your midfield ? Keep the faith Gooners. I’d risk a sly fiver on Eduardo ending up with more league goals than Bent and Torres next year.

20. GunnerGaz - 5 July, 2007

With all due respect to all your valid points of view, i think you are all deluding yourselves if you think we can challenge the top 3 with our current squad. Could we fend tottenham off for the 4th place? not with the players they have invested in, we are in big trouble this season, i am not a doom-monger but a realist, this season is going to be very very difficult for us.

21. med - 5 July, 2007

What caused our scapping for 4th? Was it really just because we did not buy big names? No it was cos the so called big names needed to be replaced.

Relax, the team is gelling and will defo delever this season…

22. sig - 5 July, 2007

think we should sign Henry with the money we get from Reyes then maybe we could tempt Overmars back as well… he still looked pretty fit at Dennis’ testimonial… oh and while we’re at it don’t forget the Elk

23. GunnerGaz - 5 July, 2007

Eammon, Take your blinkers off fella, we’re in trouble.

24. Eamonn - 5 July, 2007

GAZ

If utd or chelsea moved house and lost rooney+scholes or drogba + essien for half of the season do you think they would have performed as well as they have done?
I’m sure you’ll agree they wouldn’t have.
Ok my 2nd point is that you better get used to Arsenal getting players on the cheap because the simple fact is that we can’t compete with chelsea or Utd.
The only way is to beat them to the younger players and spend lots on kids.
Because of the reputation that AW has earned by giving them a chance the best have come. But utd and chelsea have clicked on to this.

25. GunnerGaz - 5 July, 2007

Why dont we get rid of the board, sack wenger, sell half the squad then get dein back with big phil in the hot-seat?

26. carlos - 5 July, 2007

robinho-reyes+cash swap sounds interesting???

27. Emkay - 5 July, 2007

For christ’s sake you people, what’s this obsession with big name signings. Arsene will buy who he feels will strengthen an already good squad. Just because the others make big signings doesn’t mean we have to appease you fu¢king morons. Get a life!

28. sig - 5 July, 2007

Phil Senderos… a very strange choice

29. GunnerGaz - 5 July, 2007

………..but seriously, why should we have to get used to buying players on the cheap? why cant we spend some “tin” on world class top drawer players? We’re supposed to be one of the biggest clubs in europe. Its the same old crap coming out of arsenal and im getting pissed off with it.

30. GunnerGaz - 5 July, 2007

Wake up emkay, dohnut, i want a team thats going to challenge for trophies, give me 1 team in europe that has done it with a team built on a shoe string? It might have been ok 2 or 3 years ago but since then other teams have improved and we have stood still, unless your telling me that hleb an rosicky have improved us that much.

31. WembleyGooner - 5 July, 2007

Danish Gooner is chatting shit! Lee Hughes and Joey fucking barton? wtf are people on?!!

give Eduardo a chance! bet some of you twats would have loved to sign shevshito last year but he did fuk all for the chavs! I’m sure we’ll get one or 2 more players but the deserve to be given a chance before we judge them! Martins? Oh please! I would take dudu over martins anytime!

32. Eamonn - 5 July, 2007

Cole 25 yrs= Gallas + £5million
Clichy 22 yrs- £10m (will be french LB in 1/2 yrs)
Eboue 24 yrs- £12m -£15(chelsea want Chimbonda for £12m)
Fab 20 yrs- £30-£40 world cup with spain, cham League experience
VPersie 23 yrs- Replaced RVN at his peak £15-20m
Toure 25 yrs- 2/3 yrs till he peaks. How much was Rio £28?
Diaby 21 yrs- Already in the French Squad £10-15m.Price will soar!
Denilson 20 yrs- Brazil captain U19 as was Diaby for FRA. massive potential- only a bad injury will stop him becoming £15-20m
Djourou+ Big Phil-How long have they been playing for Swiss now?
1 year older, bigger and wiser!

Only ones getting dumber are some of our fans

33. Eamonn - 5 July, 2007

hey Gaz you know that big fucking 60000 £350 MILLION stadium we play in yeah?

IT HAS TO BE PAID FOR!

CLOWN

34. Eamonn - 5 July, 2007

hey Gaz you know that big fucking 60000 seater £350 MILLION stadium we play in yeah?

IT HAS TO BE PAID FOR!

CLOWN

35. El Tommo - 5 July, 2007

We would be better off with one more striker but we don’t need to spend 30 million on him. BBC reckon Tevez might cost up to 40 million. Nobody is worth that! His real value is about 20-25 million I’d say so if ManU, Chelsea and Liverpool are happy to spunk that kind of money on one player with no guarantees that he’ll perform in the Prem [Tevez excepted, but he could be trouble as well] then they are wasting money. Look at last season – Chelsea brought in two BIG names in Shevchenko [30 mill - wtf?] and Ballack [free but costs £160k per wk] and neither one of them set the place on fire, right? If Arsenal had bought those two would we have performed any better than last season? I don’t think so. Look the stats:

Shevchenko
PL: 30 games – 4 goals

Van Persie
PL: 21 games – 11 goals

Who is the better player? It’s a no brainer. Oh … btw RVP is 23 yrs old, not 30 and we got for a rumoured fee of £3 mill. We got Baptista who everyone thought would be dynamite but … sadly how wrong can you be? We got away with that one.

My point is that while it looks like the competition are way ahead of us, there are no guarantees AT ALL.

KollerSweden has correctly pointed out that Wenger has picked up world-class players at very little cost – Kolo Toure is a great example, the guys an awesome player. The list goes on and on.

Personally I would like to see one more striker come and maybe that will happen but ain’t gonna be Tevez for absurd money. He would fit in well though.

Wenger will probably bring in a defender and a wing man and maybe that will be that, but if they are the right guys we can still look forward to watching a great side next season. There’s absolutely no doubt that we played the best football last time and we can only improve from there. If Arsene gets it right we can push for the top and advance in the CL again … maybe we won’t win but we might well suprise a few people including some Gooners.

If you think that Wenger wasn’t stung by last season then you don’t understand him. He’ll be desperate to put it right and I believe he will.

36. WembleyGooner - 5 July, 2007

Damn Right El Tommo – Wenger knows what the fuck happened last season and he will be well up for settings things straight! Sagna may be a sign of that as he understands that Eboue is fantastic goinf forward but his positioning defensively is fucking shit

37. GunnerGaz - 5 July, 2007

Dont know where you get your figures from, your imaginary friend perhaps. You really are delouded £12 million for Eboue and some of your other figures have got me rolling around with tears in my eyes. Get with the real world, those players are very good but wont win the premier league this season or next, as much as i wish they would.

38. Irishgoon - 5 July, 2007

GunnerGAZ ???? are you a spud by any chance? because you sound suspiciously like one…

39. WembleyGooner - 5 July, 2007

I think the players are good enough! We just need the balance right – some width and maybe one experienced striker – I’d be happy with 1 additional wide player!

Why all the doom and gloom?! we’re gonna fucking suprise a lot of teams that think we are gonna roll over when the 10 man behind the ball tactic is used! Players will step up now that Henry has left!

40. GunnerGaz - 5 July, 2007

hey Eammon, perhaps you should stick to harry potter

41. GunnerGaz - 5 July, 2007

…………………. you cant beat a good wind up to stimulate debate, what are our chances this year then?

42. WembleyGooner - 5 July, 2007

I reckon our chances are good providing we come out 100mph and maintain some pressure on the top – key is to stay up with the top teams and lose our way early……none of this rolling over to fcking negative teams – I wanna see us bulldoze these fuckers right out the game!

43. Andy A - 5 July, 2007

well said Eamonn – don’t forget Theo, Niklas and Da Silva too.

Give them a couple of years and their prices will double.

I’m very confident we will win something this year and we will be close to the league too.

Call me an optimist but I have faith in AW…

44. Darkins - 5 July, 2007

Gaz if u feel that upset go support someone eles init! ur negative views are not wanted here.

Eamonn has put it plain for u, we already have a bunch of young world class players at our club. Not including Gallas and RVP all were unheard of before they came. Look what happened when Wenger slashed out on the big name player Reyes. He fuckin shit his pants and went home (Same will happen with Torres).

fuck off to Munure and take all ur so called world class players with you.

45. Eamonn - 5 July, 2007

delouded?

Look I’m not saying that we are going to win the league next year.
But this is the only way to go about winning it down the line.
No one in Europe can compete with Chelsea in the market. No one.
Can you understand the muscle that AW is up against. They have a bottomless pit for signing new players.
Then if Chelsea aren’t dominating in the market Utd are hoovering up behind them. Who jus so happen to be the biggest club in the world( survey carried out bu Deloitte).
Now who is it we can/should buy GAZ?
Keep in mind that we really aren’t (at a world level) a financially massive club. Which basically means can sell jerseys like utd, madrid, Lpool and AC.
Oh yeah those BIG players you want – tell them we can pay 20ka week less than all those other clubs pay.

46. afc - 5 July, 2007

reckon 5th

47. Eamonn - 5 July, 2007

Our chances then boys?

Thats the Q!

Me, I fancy them.

48. WembleyGooner - 5 July, 2007

I reckon 2nd!

49. goonerbo - 5 July, 2007
50. El Tommo - 5 July, 2007

The bookies have us down at 10/1 not bad value I’d say. When you consider that we will have RVP back at top fitness and if Da Silva is any good we should be able to turn things around in terms of scoring goals that we fluffed so often last season.

On top of that we need more goals from midfield. The whole side knows that – Fabregas and rosicky have made that clear publicly. Look to Abou Diaby and Denilson to make their undoubted ability show as well. If we can sign one attacking wide man we’ll be awesome in midfield – again!

Defence needs a bit of experience and backup – Clichy will improve again but needs competition I reckon. Can Sagna play left-side as well as right? Maybe Micah Richards or Curtis Davies to come in? Unlikely I suspect – I’d like to see someone that Vincent Kompany or for experience, Kakha Kaladze.

51. rowellgaz - 5 July, 2007

although a bit over the top i can see where gaz is coming from. what you need is a bit more patience and an acceptance that we just arent as big as chelsea or man u in the transfer market and we can only do so much with the players weve got. They will be ok. As for afc,s comment………………. muppet!

52. Eamonn - 5 July, 2007

Backs to the Wall time!

But this time I have a feeling that this lots will kiss the badge more than we are used to seeing!
This lot are a team if nothing who are loosing together, winning together and growing together.

Any way, its way more fun when when you have less money.
remember the best nights out you ever had?
the ones that you couldn’t afford!

53. GunnerGaz - 5 July, 2007

If we get a good start then 2nd is about as good as it gets for me, i just cant see us nicking the league this year,if we have a dodgy start then id be happy to finish 4th again. As long as we finish above th spurs im happy.

54. Tsabo Tavoc - 5 July, 2007

Eduardo and Van Persie r gonna be the best attacking duo in the pl after half of the season when they play together for a while. WE didnt score goals last season but we played best football and thats why we brought Dudu. Did manu spent a lot of money last season? No! But their young and prospect player Ronaldo matured and was the best player in the world this year and Chelsea with all their money and world class singings (Shevcenko, Ballack), that many of socalled Arsenal fans wants us to sign they finished second. So give our players a little confidence and u r going to see because Arsene is a genious. Dudu is just what we need we dont need no more strikers!!!!!!

55. Eamonn - 5 July, 2007

Well said Gaz-
Boys I’m off-train to catch
Same bat time same bat channel tomorrow.

56. med - 5 July, 2007

well am saying that we are going to win the league next season, so all the persimists cam mark this and come back to rejoice even in grudgingly.

Since when did signing star players become synomymous to winning the league.

Chelsea please respond.

We are stabilisting as a team and the less disruptions the better.

If anything helped us most in the pat, it is that we had team spirit…

57. afc - 5 July, 2007

i see that owusu obeyie might be joining birmingham from spartak moscow………. i reckon we should have him back, he was class

58. El Tommo - 5 July, 2007

Tsabo – right!

ManU signed Carrick for 18million, another awful bit of business … who do you prefer out of Carrick and Fabregas. No competition for me.

Just a thought – when Viera signed for us he was 20 – Diaby is now 21 and at 6′ 3″ he’s an inch shorter than Paddy but he looks a better player at the same-ish age. Imho he is going grow in stature next season, he’ll be bigger and stronger so watch out Chavski thugs … here he comes! Player of the season mb?

59. CLOCK END GOONER - 5 July, 2007

WEMBLEY GOONER IS A CUNT! ‘AVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

60. Clay - 5 July, 2007

GunnerGaz you are on some cheap drugs – someone paid 16 mil for Bent does that make him world class

61. GunnerGaz - 5 July, 2007

Owusu-Abeyie?

62. BERRY - 5 July, 2007

im fed up with the fucking yidos i work with some they give it the biggen everyday how much they spend who they bought the fact is when did they last finish above us or beat us…..i think r strikers will do the job next season…need a winger…and bakari can cover the backline and then we can push eboue forward did u see him when he came on against the yidos he looked dangerous….we need to up r bid for the player

63. Tsabo Tavoc - 5 July, 2007

And one more thing we did sign world class and it is Dudu!!!!!!!!!!!! He is No1 Croatian striker and with Modric best Croatian player and just look the table and see where is Croatia and where is England and look at the FIFA list of best countries Croatia No11 and going up!!!!

64. tiny - 5 July, 2007

fuck 4th place i want my team to be challenging 1st. the club charges top prices for a season ticket so we deserve top world class players. im sorry but unless mr hill wood makes a statement of why were not buyin better players and whats happening about david dein and mr kronkae he deserves stick from all us supporters. weve already lost a great player because of lack of ambition in the transfer market lets hope our manager dont do the same else were in big trouble.

65. chazza - 5 July, 2007

how far can we go in the champ lge?

66. afc - 5 July, 2007

i reckon its only a matter of time before there is a revolt at the emirates. People are getting fed up with the excessive charges and lack of investment. Come on hill-wood what have you got to say???????

67. afc - 5 July, 2007

im with you tiny.

68. philip71 - 5 July, 2007

who can stop us this year?

69. mjc - 5 July, 2007

GunnerGaz – since when was it a virtue to spend more money than the ext team.

If you want to win an argument amongst 12-years, then maybe it’s significant, but other than that it just puts the long-term stability of the club at risk – take a look at Man United’s finances, for example.

That joker Jorabchian wants £40m for Tevez (of course he does – it’s all profits straight into his parasitic pocket). If we bought him + Kaka for £50 + Ronadinho for £35 would you be happy?

We would of course then have £125 million to find, which is about half the price of the new stadium….

But that would apparently let you win some playground pissing contest!

70. gunnersaurus - 5 July, 2007

stop us from what? finishing 4th?

71. chazza - 5 July, 2007

oh well, looks like we should all shut up shop then and accept a 4th place finish at best. Gaz makes a good point that as a big team we shouldnt accept fourth and should look to be keeping up with the other teams around us. You lot who are quick to criticise are on a parralel universe where fourth is first. well said gazza even if it was a bit extreme

72. mjc - 5 July, 2007

chazza – OK let’s follow your plan for reckless financial irresponsibility. Or better still, why don’t you save yourself a few years and just go and support Leeds.

73. flannel - 5 July, 2007

Hope Wenger signs a left winger and left full back also a player with a good world known reputation…..you decide the position x

74. BERRY - 5 July, 2007

last season all what was missing was finishing off the move all those chances we missed now dudu has arrived that should change the man has that killer instinct in front of goal to finish off a move…….i bet if chelsea bought dudu for 50 million he would be the best striker in the world….the proof is in the pudding ……that was the difference last season and the CL we should of scored more goals…..i would like to see a couple of players bakari and someone fast on the wing who can cross a ball….i would like to c toure as captain long term gilberto wont be playing for a lot longer…..

75. Rock - 5 July, 2007

well my tevez to arsenal dream seems to be over, manchester utd have snapped him up and i have 2 hand it 2 them they are doing incredible business…this eduardo excitement is all good but tevez – proven premiership talent to manchester utd..it a blow to us as far as im concerned, a huge blow..he was the player we needed in terms of fighting on those rainy days, battling away against the likes of man city n blackburn n bolton on those nights..which is what wenger wans and admitted tevez would be ideal for just that..eduardo is not 1 of those players, he will sit in the box waiting 4 a chances and though that is what was needed, i was hoping tevez would arrive too so i never thought i’d say this, but i really want martins at the emirates next season cause we need bite upfront badly bacause upfront theres no explosiveness, there is quality, but we need explosive pace and power n will to win. i dunno about many gooners here wanting to finish 4th but i want us 2 win the title. all we need is the right players.

If we do sign another striker then sagna well definately be left back cover which i think is what he’ll be bought for anyway. eboue’s young and has time to learn, ashley cole’s defending wasnt too great a couple of seasons ago but he learned which is what i think eboue will do and if he doesnt sagna will be waiting. dont forget we have hoyte who is a solid no nonsense right back. Like i said i think we need a striker who will fight who is in the tevez, martins, alan smith, bellamy, rooney mould..note im saying MOULD not saying smith and bellamy should sign for us..but players of that nature..martins would be my choice as tevez has already agreed to go to man utd. finally the central defensive situation is a bit of a worry as djourou will be off on loan soon and senderos has surely got to be sold…my choice would be curtis davies but that depends on the kind of money west brom want for him. its important the right players come in cause if we dont it looks like fighting for 4th once again and i know a lot of you here would settle for that but i want 2 c gilberto lifting that title come next may, because i genuinly believe it’s a possibility if we strengthen properly, we can finally cross finishing off our list due to eduardo’s introduction, and the rest will be sorted out by the genius wenger himself, for whom i have full trust in.

why didnt wenger show off are new signings he has
been so quite i dont think his got any answers ..wht do u reckon rock

78. Nicky - 5 July, 2007

If we look back at last year stats tell us that we conceeded more goals from set pieces than any other club and we scored the least amount of goals from set pieces.I think you will see a different Arsenal this time around without abandoning our wounderful style of footie.I am sorry to say this but with Kolo and Willy in defence together we have absolutely no chance of winning the title, just look at what happened at Liverpool to see why.If you can look back at how many times we conceeded from corners or crosses you will see that Kolo is found wanting, although i think he may be pushed up into midfield or to fullback.A withdrawn striker is our next target and i know through my contacts that a young Brazillian is being heavily courted for that role.It would not be a bad idea for Flamini to stay as he can also play at fullback and i think Arsenes would want top dollar if he is to leave.A goalscoring winger and a dominant centre half along with a cheap striker (maybe a free transfer lie Saviola) will come.Remember this post.Nico

Arsenal sign MacFarlane!!! — http://tinyurl.com/2tygag

Jesus christ you people are so slow it amazes me.

Why on earth you want arsene wenger to spend 30 million of the club’s money on a big name is unbeliveable and i no that wenger will never do that thank god.

Arsene wenger sighn’s the right man for the right job and he has all way’s been right.

We have eduardo/Bendtner/Walcott/Van Percy/Adabayour To chose from next season and there is not many player’s that are better than them in any league in the world.

We have all been whineing for the past five season’s that we need a fox in the box some one to score the ugly goal’s that we need so wenger sighn’s a proven goal scorer with a superb record and still you lot whine.

I take my hat off to arsene wenger there is no other manager in football that i would want to manage arsenal he has more intelligence than sir alex marinho and raffa benitez put togeather he is amazeing.

Lverpool have spent 25 million pound’s plus garcia on a player that has bearly got into double figure’s for his old club it is a laughable joke.

Man utd have sighned aderson and nani and all ready they think they are the best thing since sliced bread and cast your mind’s back to sir alex’s other sighning that were supposed to take the world by storm…
Djemba/Smith/Kleberson/Veron/Barthez/Blanc The list of flop’s is endless.

Man utd have spent nearly 60 million and liverpool 30 to 50 million and have got nothing for there money if i was owner of any of those club’s i would be seriously worried.

Fact is there is not mutch world class quality out there and most of the world class player that are out there play for us…

Clitchy/K Toure/E Eboue/C Fabrigas/Danilson/Gilberto/V Percy/Walcott The list goes on and on and on and ariston.

Eduardo has been playing in a medioka league in croatia but his record is out standing it is alot like van nistilroy’s record for PSV and if he score’s even half the amount of goal’s for us as he did for dynamo that it will money exceptionally well spent £7 Millon…..

I think it is classic wenger i also think next season will be a great one for the arsenal just you doubter’s wait and see.

Inever pay attention to who man utd or any other team buy or how mutch they spend on a player because i no all to well that wenger rule’s the transfer market and i do mean rule’s it.

He has turned arsenal into a grand football club in the past ten year’s it make’s me so prowed i sware. He take’s more stick than all the other top manager’s put togeather and still marche’s on forward and never backward’s he is a supreemly classy guy.

I am getting ecited more and more the closer we get to august because i no and wenger know’s that our current squad has quality and ability in abundance and when arsene wenger say’s his team has massive potential it is a entirely different thing to when jol or alex or raffa or marinho say’s the same thing.

I think this bunch of player’s can become a legendary team seriously.

We got every one’s scalp last season except chelsea’s and we did it with guile and brilliance playing as a team with out the aid of thierry henry.

Our young guy’s proved last season one importand thing and that is they are winner’s no doubt about it they bossed every one aroundlast season as if they had been playing in the top flight for year’s they were out standing in perticuler Hoyt Danilson Walcott and a few other’s.

Remember this man utd have two good young tallent’s roony and ronaldo

Liverpool have three world class player’s … Alonso Gerrard Carragher.

Chelsea have …

Drogba Chech Essian A cole J cole.!

ARSENAL HAVE …..

Fabianski Almunia

Hoyt Eboue Toure Gallas Clitchy Danilson Fabrigas Dejouru Hleb V Percy Eduardo Walcott Adabayour Bendtner …….

They are just a few that i know the name’s of.

We are the best team in the league we play the best as a team in the league we have the best player’s in the league we have the best manager in the league we have the best looking stadium in the league we have the best kit in the league we have the best pitch in the league we and so on and so on…

We will run away with the premiership next season i really cant see any one stopping us.
We had a big consistancy problem last season and that will be the focus f wenger’s attention dureing preseason.

I really feel that sooner alot sooner rarther than later we will be in store for some mind boggingly good football and alot of trophy’s and alot of record’s and alot of goal’s and i am not being optimistic it is a fact.!

What we bring on to the football pitch is top notch make no mistake about it better than every one else and i say that as a fan of football before a fan of the great arsenal it is just a matter of this team winning it’s firt trophy togeather and then the flood gate’s open and a flood of honour’s will ensue mark my world.

Wenger Know’s Something No One Else Does.

81. Rick - 6 July, 2007

Is it just me or someone else thinks that Adebayor does not fit the Arsenal standards ? It is funny everybody is talking about new signings, but very few people are talking about those who might (or should) leave the team due to their lack of quality. In my case I would only like to see Adebayor leaving, and have someone like Tevez or Martins instead.

Rick

82. Michael - 6 July, 2007

I agree about adabayour.

But take into consideration we have the premier league fa cup champions league to play.

I feel adabayour is a hard worker ware’s his hard on his sleave and we could use him for other thing’s.

I think lunberg should be replaced and we should start looking for replacement’s for gallas.

We also need cover for clitchy and a left winger.

If we get a decent left winger who can play well with clitchy and also replace gallas then we will be a truely frighteneing team.

If gallas was good enough to play for arsenal he would have been sighned year’s ago.

About the stadium…..

It cost 300 + Million pound’s and was worth every penny.

Our annual revenew has gone from 130 mil to 200 + million.

The highbury developement add’s another 150 mil to that.

This season will see revenew rise even firther with the tv deal/Champions league money/fa cup money will add further.

We are in 300 million pound’s worth of debt or we will be in 2008 but even then it will not be a problem.

The only problem we have is the american.

If this american cunt get’s his hand’s on arsenal than we could be doomed.

He is all ready in debt with his own bisnuisses in america with loan’s and thing’s and if he had to pay his own debt’s now he would not be a billion air trust me.

If he get’s hand’s on our club then his debt will automatically be added on to our debt and then we will be in serious trouble.

Our current debt of around say 300 mil would boom to about 500 + or higher depending how mutch the yank ows on his own bisnuisses.

I hope to god he goes and crawll’s back under the fucking rock from witch he came he is a yank for god sake fuck off the board have been honest with him so why doesnt he take the fucking hint and d one.

STAN GO AND FUCK YOUR SELF WE DO NOT WANT YOUR SORT IN OUR CLUB GO AND OPEN A FUCKING MC DONALDS RESTURANT IN GYATAMARLA IF YOUR A BIT SHORT OF CASH YOU FUCKING SLIMY PEICE OF SHIT.

83. Erique - 6 July, 2007

I believe in football attack is the best defense!! Wenger should really consider signing a goal hungry winger. How many goals did rosicky(one of our best wingers) score?? And now how many did Ronaldo7 score? Another one how many did Lampard score then how many did Cesc score?? Get the picture, all our rivals have goals coming from the midfield and we dont. Unless Hleb is healed from his shootophobia(i doubt) and rosicky starts to shoot his trademark shots then we will challenge for the title next season. Cesc will have more than ten goals next season. Why isnt WENGER listening to our pleas and signs martins!!!!!!!

84. Erique - 6 July, 2007

Jus a thot. Isnt Quaresma a good attcking Winger???
Jus think of Rosicky,Gilberto,The Cesc,Quaresma in midfield??
RVP and Da Silva/Martins upfront
Clichy,Gallas,Toure,Eboue/Hoyte at the back and ad Jens at goal.
We would win the title with 85+ goals next season. This is my arsenal team in Manager 07 and i have already won the league!!!!!

85. BERRY - 6 July, 2007

i think lehman makes to many mistakes..senderos is shit…flamini isnt that good…hleb just runs with the ball no end product..and do u think wenger is going thats y he aint signing no one we tripled the new guys wages thats y he came…i want to c some improvment like henry said we dont seem to be moveing forward and b contenders ..the thing is if we dont improve our sqaud the exspense of the stadiam if we dont have champions league football then we will b mid table we wont have money for players and our best players will go ……like henry…we r lacking ambition from the board and we the fans r suffering no one has told us fuck all but we still pay season tickets

86. Englez - 6 July, 2007

I am a Croat and have been following Eduardo’s career for a long time. Yes, he’s been a brilliant goalscorer for our team (Dinamo) and our country, but I do wish he hadn’t come here. His physique is not adequate for playing in the Premiership, I fear he will get crushed here. It would be a great loss for Croatia National Team if he got injured or ended up sitting on the bench. Bilic does not use players who don’t play regularly for their clubs.

Eduardo himself had expressed numerous times that he would love to move on to Spanish league. He is in love with Sevilla FC and would join them without second thought (his own words).
My impression is that he is honoured by Arsenal’s offer, but shocked by ending up in the bloody Premiership. However, he has always been a true pro and will adapt an do his utmost to succeed here. Good luck Dudu!

87. BERRY - 6 July, 2007

thats promising then

88. BERRY - 6 July, 2007

thats promising aint it another reyes

89. BERRY - 6 July, 2007

if chelsea only going to buy malouda y dont we go for roysten drenthe..would be a good signing his what we need on the flank and he is cheap…but we aint going to r we.they said one or two players we will get so thats yor lot folks

90. Englez - 6 July, 2007

Please don’t compare Eduardo to Reyes. I am 100% sure Premiership was not Eduardo’s real dream and desire (due to the style of play here, which is very different to continental style of play). BUT…. Eduardo would never ever moan or complain. He has overcome incredible obstacles to make a name for himself in Croatia through sheer will and determination. Premiership will just be a new challenge for him, that’s all. Please don’t ever utter Eduardo’s name in same breath as Reyes.

91. Arsenal_fan - 6 July, 2007

Ok first… :-) Please change the flag on Dudu profile he is Croat not Brazillian :P And second… those guys that want big names… you act like kids… i mean if you were in the control than we would never get new players and made them big… i mean “unknown” players need to start somwere to become known and big ;-)

92. Englez - 6 July, 2007

I’m sure if you asked Eduardo he’d tell you he’s both Croat AND Brazilian, so what’s the big deal about this flag buisness?
All I want for Eduardo is success in Arsenal shirt and Euro 2008 trophy, which I’m sure will be ours.
Good luck Eduardo and may God continue to bless you…

93. Arsenal_fan - 6 July, 2007

Yes… that is true… but if webmaster want to have correct profile than Croatian flag should be on that profile… He is after all playing for Croatian national team… ;-)

94. Sofia - 6 July, 2007
95. Darryl - 6 July, 2007

wenger needs ta sign a winger sum1 like quarsama of porto, i stil tink he needs to go out and buy a proven goalscorer

96. BERRY - 6 July, 2007

is wenger still at arsenal……were is he hasnt even got the decentcy to tell us what the fuck is going on……or to show off r new player…did u c what barca done for henry i think its bad reallywenger didnt even hand dudu his shirt

97. BERRY - 6 July, 2007

so man u have got tevez r they going to spend anymore…they r in debt also so y dont we spend i dont even want big transfers just some new players were we need them ..wenger the best manager but fergie has pulled the rabbit out of the hat aint he…how many points were we behind them last season and we have got rid of r best player…they dont no what the fuck ther doing speculate to acumalate like manchester united have the yids r comeing for us aswell

98. BERRY - 6 July, 2007

were r the gunners r we still on holiday or something athletic offered 8 million for reyes y the fuck aint we took it we lost money on henry so y not reyes does it matter

99. Dominic - 6 July, 2007

What’s with all the doom and gloom?
Last year we played for most of the season without our main strikers.
How many times did we see matches where we dominated the play but didn’t take the easy chances?
Dudu looks like the kind of player who will convert most of these into goals. In many ways he reminds me of Ian Rush. How many great goals can anyone remember Rushie scoring? Damn few, but he did score an awful lot and that’s what we want.

100. Rick - 6 July, 2007

Dudu (if he plays regularly) will score around 20 goals. Cesc will be more productive (I´ll bet with anyone on this). Rosicky will score on Pires range. Hleb will not score but will assist several times. RVP will shine and some of the other strikers (Theo and Niclkas) will do their part. Martins would be a superb addition to our club but even without him I see a bright future.

Rick

101. Michael - 6 July, 2007

You lot are slow.

We have the best strength in depth for a squad in the league.

My god one player leave’s and you are all ready to throw in the towel.

I can not wait till next christmas when i can come back here and say ……

I Told You So.!

Wnger Know’s.!

102. BERRY - 6 July, 2007

lads last season was then all them other teams have improved there sqaud we havnt we got a striker a goalkeeper and a defender that has gone straight in to the youth sqaud …..how many points behind were we last season and the season before and still all we have done to improve is sold the best player in the world what a fucking shambles…..

103. Rick - 6 July, 2007

Michael, I fully agree with you.
Last season with a better striker (than Adebayor or Baptista) we would have won many more games.
Next season looks nice and promising.

Let´s take the league gunners.

Rick

104. Michael - 7 July, 2007

Gilberto our captain fantastic has came out and respended to drogbas claim’s that we are finished.

He said ….

So drogba think’s we are finished deos he.Well let’s wait and see what happen’s.

Chelsea have spent a fortune last season and they still couldnt beat arsenal once in the league.

Maybe drogba should focus on chelsea insted of arsenal.

Lmfao.!!!

That is exsactly the kind of thing’s i want from this arsenal team a fighting spirit.

I think the lad’s are just itching to play some football i really do.All this hoo har is only going to galvanise the sqad in my opinion and wenger will get them seriously fired up forthe comming season i really cant wait.

Every time i read a article from madrid or chelsea or man utd slagging us off i nearly bite my own toungue off i get that pissed.

We Love You Arsenal … We Do …. We Love You Arsenal We Do

We Love You Arsenal We Do ….. Owwwwwwwww

Arsenal We Love You …. Bring the fucking lot of them on next season.

105. Zmarak - 8 July, 2007

Dear Gunners, most of our last season matches hampered with injures (RVP, Walcot, rosicky, Henry & etc). I hope & pray that this season will be a healthy season.

We are already empowered our team by youngplayers (RVP, clichy, Eboue & etc). we have got again unknown player who will shine more than Torres, Tevez & Bent, if you see him on international matches, u will find a more confident goal-scorer then anybody. He does it very calmly and wisely. He was on 4 rank topscorer on UEFA EURO 2007, he scored more goals than C.Ronaldo & other top players, see below link: http://www.uefa.com/competitions/euro/statistics/players/typestat=gs/index.html

Last season, our players were not on the good moral esp when Henry and RVP were on sick leaves, beause they were thinking we will end with gud stuff. But this season, the start up will be with challenges and push…

The most important thing is to create confidence and mentality-ready for players…I am sure AW will work on that more than anything…
