Theo out but Cesc, Flam & Hleb could return 14 December, 2007

Cesc back?

In today’s pre-match press conference Arsene has given all Gooners hope in saying we could be seeing some of our best players returning for the vital clash with Chelsea this weekend. However, he did say Theo Walcott has picked up a slight knock and will miss this match and possibly Tuesday’s. It’s a shame because Theo did really well the other night and it would’ve been lovely to see him take the piss out of Cuntley Cole on the right wing.

Here’s what Wenger said about our injury situation:

“Who will make it, I don’t know. We know Robin van Persie will be available. As for Mathieu Flamini, Cesc and Alex Hleb, the signs look quite good but we have to make a decision. Theo Walcott is out with a little knee problem. That is a question of days and we feel he should be OK for Tuesday maybe.”

Arsene also said that if Fabregas was passed fit, he would play. However I have on good source that it looks unlikely. Out of Hleb, Flamini and Cesc, he looks the least expected to return but there will be a late fitness test on all three.

My hopes are good for them to return. The noises coming out of the Arsenal camp sound good. All three (plus van Persie) are in full training fighting for their place. I’m sure they are fit enough to start, it’s just whether they could play 90 minutes. It’s too much of a risk to start them if we’re going to have to sub them before the end, at the potentially decisive point in the game.

I’ll write up a proper preview tomorrow as to what team I think it’ll be but it sounds goof for now anyway.

In other news Arsene’s been talking about Avram Grant, the mafia looking cunt. And how he thinks its more important for the fans to get behind the team, rather than focus on Ashley Cole.

Also, we’ve been linked with a left winger called Nikolay Dimitrov. He plays for Levski Sofia and their executive director says they’ve known about Arsenal’s interest and he’ll have to travel to London to sort things out. Their coach seems willing to let him go and he said ‘he’s very happy for him’. Sounds promising to me.

Right, I’m off now. Happy Friday.

good news about the injured boys and it won’t surprise me if we see 2 out of 3 return as le wenger has been known for his “oooh they might not make it” comments before now. I’m made up for 2 reasons if the news about Dimitrov is true because:-
1, Chelscum and Manu(re) were after him
2, This is one young player that looks like he could live up to all the hype surrounding him. He is absoloute quality and has pace, skills and a good eye for scoring and assists and is a natural left footed winger. I really hope that we sign him, if we do then we could have a brilliant cross between overmarrs and Bobby Pires chasing up and down our left flank…..

tell you what. if Cesc or Flam dont make it wouldn;t it be just great to see Diaby given his proper chance in the middle? maybe not for this game but I’d love to see him in there. I’d hate to see his whole career afftected by being given a bit part on the left wing.

Diaby is class but he need to know ehn to pass and when to hold on to the ball, good game for Diaby will be against Blackburn and i think he shud atrt in the middle then…i think that can wait tho

tomorrow i think we need Hleb more than we need Cesc esp wiv Van P already in the team…

if cesc doesnt make it i would go with

___________Almunia
Sagna__Toure__Gallas__Clichy
Hleb___Diarra__Flamini__Rosicky
______Van Persie
____________Adebayor
