Burnley Preview: Cesc, Gallas, Hleb & more rested 5 January, 2008

It’s not a ‘Carling Cup’ side as much tomorrow, but we have decided to rest a lot of our best players. We’re considerably weakened as Wenger has chosen to rest Almunia, Clichy, Gallas, Hleb, Fabregas and Adebayor. Flamini’s suspended but I don’t think he would’ve played anyway, also van Persie is still injured. Theo Walcott’s got a shoulder problem that’ll be looked at today; I don’t think he’ll start either way though.
I do worry that we’re resting too many players. I have faith in our reserve players but Burnley aren’t a bad, bad side, they’re mid-table in the Championship at the moment. The like’s of Diarra, Denilson and Diaby will have to put in performances and maybe show the boss what they’re worth. Traore’s going to start at left back in place of the rested Clichy. I do like Traore, he’s still learning and does make errors but he is very quick and can be dangerous down the left. Also Eduardo and Bendtner are likely to be partnered up front as both players have a bit of confidence at the moment.
So here’s what I think the team will bee tomorrow:
Sagna – Toure (c) – Senderos – Traore
Eboue – Diarra – Denilson – Diaby
Bendtner – Eduardo
Toure and Eboue will play their last game for us before going to Africa, Kolo’s possible replacement Senderos will be looking to impress in tomorrow’s game after some shaky performances this season. We should go with the 4-4-2 I’ve suggested, I see no real reason why we should put 5 across the middle however Eduardo does provide an option on the wing if Arsene insists.
This is another big chance for Diarra to put his feet where is mouth is…as it were. I do like him, he is a good player, just wish he’d shut up and get on with it but Gallas was the same last year and look where he is now. Wenger says there’s been no bid from Spurs for him and he wants him to stay with us, Arsene rates him but I’m sure he’s trying his patience.

Diarra would be mad to leave. I fear him leaving now, then the Flamster signing up with someone in the summer then us being left without any defensive midfielders!
I think Walcott is close to taking Willy G’s throne as the most injured Arsenal player, its unbelievable that a player so young can be so constantly injured!

agree with the team prediction, the one thing i’m confused about is that wenger initially said he wanted to save the kids for the carling cup, now he’s saying much of the first team will be rested. eduardo and bendtner will surely be the strike partnership for the spuds game, will they get consecutive starts within three days? think song might get a start before joining up with the cameroon squad too.
song would probably play as that team looks like a carling cup team, Gilberto will get a game maybe in place of Denilson , maybe add exprience to the mildfield but lets hope he isnt is rusty self tommorrow or really that would spell the end of him coz surely how many games does he need to prove himself?
If Gilberto plays then there is a good chance we will lose. Even Ray Charles could tell you this guy just has no heart for the club anymore. He is not “rusty” he just clearly doesn’t want anything to do with Arsenal at the current time, one look at his face will tell you that.

If Wenger play Senderos in the Back, there is a big possibility that we will lose. I think Song or Djourou will be a good replacement for Gallas. Senderos cannot handle pressure, so because of that he’s fit in that position.
Senderos out! He’s too much of a liability, everytime he plays i think he’s going to mess up! he has surely taken the reigns as the new Cygan, We need someone solid, he’ll probably have a great game against Burnley to hinder the senderos boo boys but its burnley for good sake!

My only change to your team selection is Diaby for Diarra.
Diaby hasn’t had that many opportunities playing his natural position at central midfield. Diarra has been an ungrateful twat demanding first team football even though he’s been here only 6 months and is competing with Fabregas, Flamini, Denilson, Gilberto, Diaby, and possibly Rosicky for that position!!
Wenger should discipline him and limit his appearance to Carling Cup with the youngsters, see how he reacts to that, and then decide on his future!
Song should play in place of Senderos if the two are 2 compete for a number. Senderos and Cygan are just the same characters. i guess senderos spent alot of his time understudying cygan instead of studying serious defenders. Embarassing that he is gifted with a physique, height and everything 4 the physical premier league bt the guy just remains a kid in his game. Even that character MOUR knew when exactly to bring in drogba and Senderos would present them with a goal almost immediately. This guy needs to be loaned out so he can see life outside arsenal.

Diarra is potentially, a fucking awesome player. Give him a few games and the little shit will piss all over that hairy, ugly, butch-faced fucker Flamini. I completely sympathize with Diarra. I’d be screaming blue murder if I had to sit on the bench and watch that French fucker play in my position. Flamini is a talentless, grafting no-hoper who should piss off to Juve or Villareal or whatever two-bit, mediocre side wants him. Diarra all the way, in my book. Next match, we should all invade the pitch and suck him off to show him how much we need him in the side.
I fear for this side. Diarra needs to stay. Wenger should look him in the eye, and tell him in no uncertain terms that he’s signed a fucking three-year contract. What that means is that we OWN him. We can do whatever the fuck we want with him, even stick him in the reserves until he’s 25. So he should just fuck up and shut up and wait until that fucker Flamini stops with the ‘roids and sinks back into the pool of mediocrity from which he’d spawned.
l must admit that Flamini has had a great season but l do have to agree that DIARRA is a much better option. Get rid of Gilberto, buy another back up defensive mid in the summer and let Flams go. He would have signed by now if he was a real gunner, just another fucking CASHLEY if you ask me.
As for SENDEROS l think that he will come good, just needs his confidence back. Remember how good he was for us in the Champions league 2 years ago only to be subbed in the final.
Connolly’s agent you are a muppet. Flamini is a class act and Diarra is still a kid. Flamini can play left back or right back, he can bomb down the wing, cross, tackle, head the ball and finish. He gets stuck in and keeps going for 95 minutes.
Your boy Diarra is great at getting the ball back but he holds onto it for too long, is only good for one half and has no idea going forward.
So if you want to go and suck him off be my guest but show the hairy one a bit of respect.

flamini has salvaged some respect with his good form this season but he is playing at his full potential and still he is struggling to have a real impact on the matches. he doesnt not deserve to start week in week out when there is the like of diarra, a player with stacks more potential sitting on the bench. i’d be more than happy to see flamini out in the transfer window.

Flimflam gets my vote. I think his running and pressing brings more to the side than Diarras defensive nouse and passing. As for his contract, I think he’ll sign. Hes only looking after his best interests and after the amount of time he spent on the bench why not? Diarra however should pull his shiney head out of his arse.
Also lay off Sendy. He needs more time than most to find his form but he’ll get that now. I hope he plays.

Ok Mr 007 C’s agent but probably more like Mr Bean, let me put it another way. Every team needs a bloke who leaves his foot in now and then and unlike Eboue, gets away with it. Diarra has got more class than Flamini and I hope he has 2 blinders against Burnley and the spuds but the Arse have too much class already and they need a Gattuso who can stand up to other team’s cunts like Mascherano, Anderson/Scholes, Mikel and tell them to go fuck themselves without getting sent off.
Diarra reacts to a bit of a aggro like Sagna does. He doesn’t get involved. For Sagna that’s no big deal but for an enforcer it’s a bit weak. The ugly hairy cunt constantly snaps at the opposition, motivates the other midfielders/forwards, speaks politely to the ref
and looks after Fabregas.
West Ham said Flamini was the difference between last season’s wimpy Arse and this season’s more effective version, although that’s got alot to do with Gallas as well.
Maybe if Diarra went punky with his northern lights dome like C’pt Billy he’d be moving in the right direction.
