Why Gilberto is better than Diarra 11 January, 2008

Gilberto & The Beast

With Diarra future still in doubt the debate goes on whether he’ll be leaving us or not. To be honest, I’ve reached the point where I really don’t care and even though I know he’s decent, I don’t really want him to be an Arsenal player if he’s this mouthy little bitch. This article from the Guardian says Diarra asked to be left out of the cup games because his move away from Arsenal made him unfocussed. The story also mentions his move to Newcastle broke down because he was asking for nearly £90,000 a week! If that is true this guy is not only annoying but also stupid. I Thierry Henry was getting paid that much, who does he think he is?

Yes, he will be a good player one day and a valuable member to whatever team he ends up at, he probably knows that. However for now he’s just a squad player. With Flamini’s contract still not sorted he could be in our first 11 next year; I’m sure behind he scenes Arsene knows if Matty’s off or not though. At the moment we have a great supply of centre midfielders: Fabregas, Flamini, Gilberto, Diarra, Diaby and Denilson. However, come August I wouldn’t be surprised if Gilberto, Diarra and Diaby had gone, with the possibility that Flamini could go to. I’m sure Wenger will sort it out but it’s a bit worrying.

One player I thought might leave this window was Gilberto Silva. He’s dropped out of the side and I thought he might look else to get some games but he’s been brilliant about it. He wants to stay and fight for his place. This is actually quite good news because with our recent injuries to Senderos (he is having a fitness test today) and Djourou he could be vital for us as a centre back.

Plus, I’d much rather have the experienced, professional that is Gilberto than the moaning, greedy Diarra. Here’s what he said:

“This is what I have in mind, to get back in the team and hope I can achieve that as soon as possible. But I know the team is playing well and so are the guys in my position, especially Mathieu. I will do my job, and I did that again against Tottenham which was another good opportunity for me to show that I am capable to come back into the team. At the moment, I prefer not to think about moving and to fight for my position.”

See this is what Diarra should be saying. You get a lot of respect for this and Diarra could do with an attitude like this. Now he’s going to ruin his career by fucking off to Newcastle or Portsmouth or Spurs or something, I don’t care. Arsenal is the best club in the world for a developing player. I’m not just being bias. We give more opportunities than anyone else when it comes to the kids. Arsene’s not frightened to use them in important games either. The fact is: Diarra is an idiot if he wants to leave; he’s really not that far off the first team.

We play Birmingham tomorrow, I’ll write a preview up for that later today. I’ve just bought my tickets for AC Milan away, can’t fucking wait. Speak to you later.

Diarra aint that young though is he? 22 I think, Gilberto was a good player but his legs are gone. I heard the real reason he wants out is because he didnt like the rather strange Arsenal policy of the players being filmed having a bath together at the end of each game by Arsene Wenger on his new top of the range digital cam-corcorder. Diarra is quoted in The Times as saying ‘I could hear the noise when the zoom button was being pressed’

Mate I’m sorry but ‘Berts performances this season have been absolutley horrific……he looks completely disinterested. Witness the “tracking back” for the Jenas goal in the last game.

3. DeiseGooner - 11 January, 2008

No Blog Head that zoom button noise was Spuds scouts with camera trying to see how a real football team plays. Juande and Gus are all out of ideas so they are gonna sell the whole cunting team and bring in some who can play football…

Oh and Diarra is a moaning girl - hes got an Anelka attitude about him so he does.

4. Wally - 11 January, 2008

To Blog Head,

Not funny, just lame.

5. Mark C - 11 January, 2008

Gilberto has never been blessed with pace, however he can read a game and that means he can be in the right place at the right time.

If the quotes about Diarra are correct and we can turn a profit on him in 4 months then great.

I personally believe we should be looking a bit lower down to bring players through. All of the youth players should be aiming to break through. When it come to defensive midfielders I believe Denilson is in that group, and the guys challenging Fabregas are Diaby, Hleb and Rosicky. The later group of guys can dictate the play, which is what Fabregas does.

Sagna or Hoyte for CB please if Senderos cant make it, Diarra may then be required to play Right Back.

6. mark - 11 January, 2008

Right place, Right time?

Are you MAD. Why did he let Jenas run of him to score a tap in.

What are you talking about. GILBERTO IS TERRIBLE. He is disinterested. You foreign BLOGGERS should understand SPIN from truth.

Why do you think Gilberto is being a professional. Because NO ONE wants him. Look at his comments about JUVE on 23rd NOV. HE IS NO PRO. Stop falling for the SPIN.

7. Blog Head - 11 January, 2008

To Wally,

Very funny, your name.

8. chris GOONA - 11 January, 2008

why is every1 suggestin Sagna 2 play at CB.. i cant understand why he wuld be gd in that position. Hes neva played there b4, well for us anyway, and he doesnt hav the stature of a CB, hes not built or tall enough to defend crosses and hold off strikers like Toure or a Senderos can do.. Im not sayin Senderos shuld play even if he is fit, because hes been awful at times, gd in the air, but hes been gettin caught out alot.
Our best option at the moment is 2 put either Gilberto or Hoyte in there, Hoyte looked more compfortable than any of the other CBs we hav seen covering for Toure an Gallas this season so far.

I dont know wot planet Diarra comes from, but hes in a completely different world of his own. He seems 2 be annoyed wiv Wengers selection, but u cant say he has completely ignored Diarra becuase hes been in the squad for many games, on as a sub, but if every1 else can see how well the team is playin an sittin top of the league why cant he. If he was manager wuld he select a moany unproven playa that doesnt want 2 knuckle???? i dont think so mate, we dont need players like that!

9. Blog Head - 11 January, 2008

No Chris Goona you moron, thats the whole point. Diarra understands all of what you’ve just said. He is a team player and wants to help Arsenal desperately. His problem is that no matter what happens, and however much he wants you to succeed, he aint gonna suck Wengers cock. No chance. Can you blame him? I mean would you suck Arsenes shriveled old willy if it meant you winning the champs league. You probably would actually wouldn’t you Chris.

10. phil - 11 January, 2008

You are the only one laughing blog head. Prick.

11. Blog Head - 11 January, 2008

Blow me Phil. Blow me now and blow me hard.
Thats it………..mmmmmmmmmm……yeah…………

12. Gooner Don - 11 January, 2008

Wrong!
Words dont mean nothing Gilberto has been shit this season anyone can see that. His legs have gone.Arsenal play a quick passing game Gilberto can pass and is not quick. If we have to rely on the likes Gilberto and Denilson the title stays at old trafford

13. phil - 11 January, 2008

Valid points from mark c. Dont think denilson is really a defensive midfielder though. And whilst gilbertos legs have gone i like his attitude and think his reading of the game means he could be an asset in central defence. After all, this is where he played for the early part of his career.

14. Blog Head - 11 January, 2008

Phil, Yeah stick him in central defence. Idiot.

15. Romford Pele - 11 January, 2008

ahhh bloggie = total bell end.

Go and dice some carrots, you chopper.

16. JOSEPH TETTEH - 11 January, 2008

DIARRA, LISTEN AND LISTEN GOOD. U AR A VERY GOOD UP AND COMING PLAYER BUT WHY AR U TRYING TO ADD ATTITUDE TO UR GAME? PATIENCE THE WISE-MEN SAYS MOVE MOUNTAINS. I AM ADVICING AS A BROTHER TO LET U KNOW THAT IT WILL BE BETTER FOR U TO WAIT FOR UR CHANCE AT THE RIGHT TIME. FORGET ABOUT UR STATUS AS A NATIONAL [FRANCE] PLAYER.U AR STILL CLIMBING THE LADDER TO GREATNESS BUT IF U LET PRIDE GET IN UR WAY THEN WOE BETIDES U. HUMBLE URSELF AND U WILL SURELY ENJOY UR PROFESSION WITH ARSENAL. U CAN CHOOSE TO TAKE MY ADVICE OR DROP IT.THANX

17. Diarra - 11 January, 2008

JOSEPH TETTEH,

Suck my cock

A Case for Diarra

If it is true that Diarra is still available for Arsenal FC, he just needs to be patient. A lot of chances will come his way. Arsenal, at least is one of the renown if not the only team that give chance to young excellent players or other very good players to take up their chances. It would always be a matter of anticipating and being patient as hard-work during training goes on.

With the departure of Toure and Eboue, he would have a greater chance especially at the back though it would affect other interests as Hoyte and Gilbert. But of course everyday must be solved by end notes to competitions. Personally, for now, I am not sure how well he is with no game played yet. Still, it would be Hoyte ahead of him for the position of right back so that the lineup at the back is; Hoyte, Sagna, Gallas and Clichy.

Forthcoming league cups would of course require resting key players like Clichy and Gallas to create more space for other players like Diarra. But is Diarra’s actions persist then it could become overall contempt for the Club something Arsenal FC could base to sacrifice him off.

Otherwise, Arsenal has got resources still after the departure of Toure. Gilberto is another stable and sane person at the back. The only changes he would have to do would be as small as being able to clear away balls to a team-mate or to safety. Actually, after Sagna, another very reliable for Toure’s position could be him (Gilberto). After that we could lean forward to positively wait for results.

I wish Gallas would talk some sense into Diarra, the whiny little runt. He’s been stellar, mostly, but we don’t need his attitude here at The Arsenal.

As for Gilberto, well, his play this season has not been his best , and certainly not as strong as Diarra’s, but on the other hand he has the best attitude of any Arsenal player.

20. Ole Gunner - 11 January, 2008

Fuck Diarra. And it seems Blog Head would love to do that-

21. Connolly's agent - 12 January, 2008

Fuckers,

Gutted again. Gutted, I say. Gutted, fucking utterly gutted. Fuckers, I don’t have the fucking heart to write the fucking things I fucking feel. I as bad as when that fucker Henry left for Barca. Fuck me down.

Bloggie, you really should go and suck some dick. You’ve got issues, man. Work it out. Experiment. You’re what? Thirteen, fourteen? Ask that nice boy from home room out for pizza and a movie. And then shag the fuck out of him. Get it out of your system. See if you do like to fuck guys. Or not. Either way, you won’t feel so conflicted about it, afterwards.

As for the rest of you fucker, don’t write off Lassie until he’s left. That fucker is fucking brilliant. I’m hoping so fucking badly that he’s going to stay the fuck put. You should too. As ‘chef says, next year, we could see Gilberto, Diarra, Diaby and Flamini leaving. And you could fuck me with a feather if I ahve to see Song-Fabregas next year. Fucking hell, indeed.
