Sorry I didn’t speak to you yesterday, there wasn’t much news anyway; and there still isn’t. For once we haven’t got a midweek game so build up for Saturday’s trip to Fulham hasn’t really got underway yet. I suppose I better tell you what is going on though.

I guess the story that’s of most interest today is the news that Wenger tried to buy Beckham a few seasons ago. Most of us will remember that we were linked with a move for the, then Real Madrid midfielder. He was having a tough time adjusting to La Liga and we were looking for a right winger. Here’s what Wenger said about the move:

“David almost came to Arsenal a couple of years ago when things did not go too well during his first season with Real. I even met the people who took care of his career, but in the end, David decided to remain at Real.”

I for one was quite interested at the time when the rumors were going about. I didn’t really see him as an Arsenal player but I thought his vision and accurate passing would be absolutely brilliant for Thierry Henry who was in the form of his life. Also, it would’ve been quite good just to piss off Man United fans.

We’re on a bit of a downer at the moment after that disappointing draw to Birmingham. It feels a bit like we lost, I even wrote ‘loss’ instead of ‘draw’ in that last sentence and went back to edit it. Wenger says he’ll take responsibility for result but if you click that link you can read what Arsene thought went wrong and it was really down to the players. Gael Clichy was one man on the pitch who gave everything the full 90 minutes and was once again brilliant. However it’s a team game and he lost drew too, he’s been talking about the game saying that the players should’ve listened to the manager.

Finally Deportivo La Coruna say we’re interested in their B team goalkeeper Fabricio who has also played for Spain’s under 20 side. The guy personally sounds as if he’d love to move here. It’s just another story, there could be some truth in it I don’t know.

That’s about it for today. Arsenal TV launches tonight just incase you don’t know, might watch that later. See ya.

why would we buy a 20year old keeper when we just bought Fabianski… if we do buy a keeper in the summer itll be to replace Jens & Manuel, not to provide backup

Amazing, isnt it, no mid week game, it feels like an international break.

So that means a few players will be injured !!!

Poor game on Saturday, not too sure about Adebayor and Eduardo. I think Eduardo works better with Bendtner but there you go.

Also Hleb is better on the right than the left, and even better in the middle !!!

I noticed Chelsea-man Terry don’t consider Arsenal to be a serious rival for the Premiership title! What the hell? When Chelsea are done grinding out lucky wins, they’re not even going to make it to Europe next season, so who the hell are they to consider themselves title contenders? So Terry, you don’t consider us to be serious rivals, eh? Well I wonder who Derby consider to be THEIR main rivals for the title this year?!?

RvP,

Lay off the crack

I agree with JW, why would we go for another 20 yr old keeper with Fabianski waiting? He is an international at 22, and has been doing well with our beer cup squad.

If a keeper is to come, it should be someone with loads of experience as a replacement for Almunia and Lehmann.

Speaking of our keeper situation, check out our keeper stats -

Fuckers,

That quote by Wenger is fucking misleading. Only a Frenchman can be so fucking arrogant to suggest he’s 100% responsible for a fucking team game that he’s not even fucking playing. One player is only 0.0909% of the fucking playing team, so at most, even Almunia, Walcott or Diaby are only responsible for 0.0909% of the blame. Fuck’s sake, that fucking pisses me off. Fuckers. Who is Wenger to think that he’s so fucking mighty that he assumes so much for the fucking responsibilty. Fucking blame is shared equally amongst all the participanting fuckers.

Fabricio is fucking interesting. I would rather Akinfeev or someone who’s got some fucking bum-fluff for BlogHead to sniff. But fucking beggars can’t fucking choosers. Fabianski is fucking untried, and he sucks in FM08. And who seriously thinks Almunia’s got the fucking conjones to be the fucking number one? I fucking don’t.

Wenger on Anelka:

“Most of the time he was not in a club with the quality that he had. He got disappointed. He has so much class. I considered him because he wanted to put things right. I thought ‘Is it right to get a player back who has left?’ We have kept a straight policy – if he has left, we accept it.”

I’m a fucking romantic. Fuck, I would’ve liked to see Anelka back at Arsenal to “put things right”. Fucking aye, yes.
