Diarra’s gone to Portsmouth 16 January, 2008

Good riddance. Well it looks like he’s finally gone then. Sky Sports are saying that he’s agreed personal terms and passed a medical and will be unveiled later this week. They’re also saying that the fee is about £5m. Nothing official from Arsenal and I can’t get on the Portsmouth website as I think their server is down.

I guess it’s literally a case of Stray Lassie putting pen to paper now and then we’ll hear something from the clubs; maybe later today, maybe tomorrow. You can’t be surprised about this transfer, we’ve known he’s off for weeks; it was just a matter of where and when.

Pompey is a good club, and he’ll probably enjoy it there but you never know with this idiot. He’s making a very bad career move here, he’s so close to a first team place with us and I’m sure in a couple of years he would’ve been one of our best midfielders. He’s a player that’s more worried by internationals than he is playing with his own club and that always annoys me.

He’s also been very mouthy and what’s the point in having to deal with him when he’s surplus to requirements? I’m tempted to ‘wish him all the best’ for his new life at Portsmouth, but I wont. He’s treated us badly and I wont miss his moaning. Also, I admit that he’s got a lot of potential and he could come back to haunt us.

This has to be the shortest Arsenal career I can remember anyway. Hope your happy now playing for a team hoping to just squeeze into the UEFA Cup and leaving a team chasing the title and with ambitions in the Champions League.

There really isn’t any other news, we’ve been linked with some young players but you can never tell how true those stories are. Russian striker Andrei Arshavin’s agent says he’s received three offers and The Independent thinks Arsenal and Spurs will be chasing him…(Arse-Shaving? Hmm). Tribalfootball says we’ve agreed terms with 17-year-old Torpedo Moscow defender Vyacheslav Dmitriev and that he’ll move in the summer. And apparently we’re still trying to sort out the deal to bring in 15-year-old Luke Freeman from Gillingham.

Right that’s it for today. God this week’s boring; feels like another international break…where are the injuries?

Thanks for reading

I always said even when he joined in August that he probably wouldn’t be first choice midfielder until next season. and having watched him play I am convinced that by next season he could have at the least have been sharing the spot on equal terms with Flam. but he made his choice and I dont think it will do his career any favours. I dont think we got enough money for a 22 year old international on a 3.5 year contract. I just think he is worth more like 9m.

anyway, if his attitude was wrong there was no point keeping him. I wont wish him luck.

Dudu,

Dont be a putz

6. Ole Gunner - 16 January, 2008

Good fucking riddance if true. I don’t believe transfer stories until the club announce them. 99% of them are bogus.

I don’t see what we have lost this season because he only had 4 starts. We dropped precious points when he played. He should bless Arsene’s charitable heart because if he were manager he’d play with the youth team till he learns his lesson.

Arse-shaving! Could be a useful team member when we get to “squeaky bum time” towards the end of the season

13. Alex - 16 January, 2008

Fucking Diarra

14. Miko - 16 January, 2008

He was set to sign for Pompey before Arsenal stole in and signed him in August 2007. Just rewards. Expensive annoyance for Pompey.
I’m sure he’ll be happy to play some games.

15. Flamini Blamdini - 16 January, 2008

Just taking a wild guess here but do you think Diarra didn’t like the competiton from Sagna? I mean Diarra must like England because he keeps moving from club to club and shows no signs of wanting to leave the EPL. We heard he was mates with Gallas and Diaby although what his relationship was like with Flamini, Sagna, Eboue, Clichy,Toure and the likes of Senderos is anyone’s guess. The fact he hasn’t been playing is his choice, not Wenger’s as he doubtless would have played in the Burnley and Spuds games if he hadn’t wanted away.
It doesn’t take a genius to work out the bloke is a headcase and we are better off without him.
Blog Head, are you Connolly’s Agent in disguise?
Then on the other extreme we’ve got Flamini angling for a major payday and in the middle stands Mr. Loyal but Useless Gilberto.
And then on top of that Mad Jens won’t fuck off unless Dortmund or whoever cough up big money so he’s sticking around like a bad smell.
Fuck me and we wonder why we’ve been playing shit recently.
Football is like life and you need to be organized to succeed. If we want to compete with Manure and the Blue Mafia someone up top needs to get a grip. The Flamini situation is out of Arsenal’s hands but I reckon AW or whoever should show Diarra and Lehmann the door and go out and spend some money this month on a centre back and a back up keeper. Then in summer they can let Gilberto walk and sign a top class replacement for Flamini if he leaves.

16. Connolly's agent - 16 January, 2008

Gutted, abso-fucking-lutely gutted. What can I say? This will bite us on the arse. Never turn your back on a rabid dog, even one with a shiny bald dome and a flawless French accent. It’s a bad, bad move. Why could we’ve just sent the fucker off on loan?

Bloghead, please stop offering to blow everyone who comments on this blog. It makes you look a little slutty.

17. Connolly's agent - 16 January, 2008

FlamBlam, while it’s true that I’m never on the same fucking time as Bloghead, it’s nonsense that I’m that fucker. It’s like saying Clark Kent is Superman because you never see the two fuckers in the same fucking place - that line of reasoning would hold true most fuckers in Metropolis. Is it that fucking hard to believe that two fucking jerks would comment on the same fucking blog?

Diarra’s not a fucking head case. It’s just a fucking case of Diarra not wanting to lose his French spot to Flamini as well, simply because that fucker’s ahead of him in the Arsenal squad. The problem of too many French fuckers in the side is that they’re competing for two spots at once. Same thing will happen to Clichy/Traore, mark my fucking words.

It was Diarra’s ambition that drove him to leave. He was largely led by the French International manager who speaks to him more than Wenger has in the last 4 months. Domenech told him that only regular first team football would secure him his desire of a starting position in Euro 2008 so he had to move. He is a very confident lad and believes that Harry of all managers will sell him on to a top club and make a nice profit once everyone can see how good he is week in and week out. Even Wenger admitted that he was likely to be a top player but could not change team selection at present. I know he was desparate to stay at Arsenal. He sacrificed a cut in money to come to Arsenal rather than stay at Chelsea on a very good new deal but his International ambition has driven him to this.
