Title Talk, Loans & Clichy called up to France Squad 31 January, 2008

Deadline day of the transfer window is typically a busy and exiting day, not if you’re an Arsenal fan. We’ve made one signing, 15-year-old Luke Freeman for the youth squad, hurrah! Diarra’s gone to Portsmouth but that’s about the only bit of transfer action we’ve had and I’m not expecting any more to be honest.
We have actually completed a couple of loan deals today; Randall’s gone to Burnley and Gibbs to Norwich. I don’t think we’re going to need them for the remainder of this season so it gives these two an opportunity to gain some first team experience. Let’s just hope these players want to come back after their loans this time! Theo Walcott was linked with a loan move this January but he’s told us it would be pointless. He raised the point that he trains with world-class players everyday and he wouldn’t get that experience anywhere else. He has a point.
Cesc and Flamini have been talking about the title race today. Fabregas has said that the team would be very ‘disappointed’ if we didn’t win the league this season. We’ve been on top for most of the season and even managed to create a little gap but it was our lead to lose. We’re now level on points with United with everything to play for.
Flamini’s been saying that our side’s age has nothing to do with it and that we are super confident. We do have the ability to go all the way but we’re going to need our rivals to slip up somewhere. It’s certainly going to be an interesting run in.

There’s some good news for Gael Clichy today as he’s been called up to the France squad. He’s been in sublime form and he’s more than earned his place in the squad. I’m sure he’s delighted with the news and I’m pleased for him. He’ll be joined by William Gallas, Matty Flamini, Abou Diaby and Bac Sagna. Good news to see some of those names there getting some international experience but I won’t be so pleased if they come back injured…
That’s your lot for today people, I’ve got to go. I’ll write a Man City preview tomorrow and you might get another post if we’ve signed loads of players tonight. Thanks for reading.

Fuckers,
So Cesc would be “disappointed” if the team didn’t win the title. Well fucking me down, that IS fucking amazing news. I thought the whole fucking squad would piss off to Ibizia for a fortnight of fucking debauchary if they didn’t win. I thought there’d be parades down the fuckign Mall. I thouht they’d strike commerative medals and sell them for 10 quid a pop, and I thought you fuckers would buy them to remember the one fucking time in 4 years when we ALMOST won something. But this revelation has knock me off my fucking block. So they’ll be disappointed, hey? Fucking hell, they’d better try and win the damn thing, hadn’t they?
In case you fuckers couldn’t tell, I was being sarcastic. Fucking hell, I’m going to be disappointed if they don’t win it, either. As the ‘chef says, it’s our fucking title to lose. We’ve been in front for the whole fucking year, and it’s OURS, dammit. Those fuckers from Manchester better not to take it from us.
Theo wants to stay at the Arse because he’s training with world-class players every day. Fucking hell. If he stays at Arsenal, he’ll spend the rest of his fucking career just “training” with world-class players. If he actually wants to play, he’d fuck off.
The fucker should go on loan. If he played for Newcastle, Boro, Birmingham or wherever, he’ll PLAY against world-class players every month or so. Granted, he’ll have to tolerate plodders, hackers, and English jerks, but there’s always a price for applying your God-given talent.
