F**king Hell More Injuries! 14 February, 2008

I’m sorry but this just isn’t happening, is it? This can’t be for real. I can only laugh now. Wenger’s revealed three new injured players today to take our injury situation to something quite extraordinary. Clichy, Senderos, Sagna and Walcott are the new one’s to add to the list, which now looks like this:
- 1. Lehmann – fit
2. Diaby – calf problem
3. Sagna – out for personal reasons
4. Fabregas – fit
5. Toure – fit
6. Senderos – thigh and knee problems
7. Rosicky – hamstring
9. Eduardo – fit
10. Gallas – fit
11. van Persie – thigh
13. Hleb – fit
15. Denilson – hamstring
16. Flamini – fit
17. Song – injured in ANC Final
19. Gilberto – fit
20. Djourou – groin problem
21. Fabianski – fit
22. Clichy – hamstring and knee problem
24. Almunia – thumb/ill
25. Adebayor – fit
26. Bendtner – fit
27. Eboue – fit
30. Traore – fit
31. Hoyte – fit
32. Walcott – thigh problem
Incredible. We were probably going to field a weakened side in Manchester this weekend but it looks like we don t really have a choice who we can play. At the moment the first 11 looks too me something like Lehmann, Hoyte, Gallas, Toure, Traore, Eboue, Flamini, Fabregas, Hleb, Eduardo, Bendtner. The weird thing is that’s still not a bad side; yes the wing backs are reserve players but everywhere else we’ve got some good players. Not saying that Traore and Hoyte aren’t good, they are, but Sagna and Clichy are a different class.
Anyway, I’ll talk about the game properly tomorrow afternoon in the match preview. There’s not a lot of news around. Diaby‘s been talking about the FA Cup game. Also Clichy has been thinking about getting his first France cap.
Right I’m knackered and these new injuries have pissed me off just a little bit. I’ll speak to you tomorrow.

Just hope Adebayor will be kicking vidic and ferdinand’s a>>s>>s Thts ll i can say..thnk god the midfields fine..seems like the world is againz arsenal..but clichy out is a real disaster..whus gona handle ronaldo..but thnk god his kinda out of form now..
I heard Cesc has a throat problem and Toure’s groin might not be risked. Is it just me, or do our players tend to get far more niggling injuries that take much longer to heal than other teams. Think when you’ve tweaked a hamstring as we all have before…how long does that take to heal? A few days for me. Then again I’m not playing in the premiership.
I would go for that team as well.I would maybe stretch it to Gilberto and Flamini in the middle with Cesc getting a rest.
ha na lose be this. pls wenger shld not use traore and hoyte yurkey
Yeah should’ve mentioned that a few of the ‘fit’ players are actually a doubt too. Cesc could do with the rest.
dont think players need a rest, the CL game is 4 days away from this one which is enough rest. we will miss the wing backs they are an important part of wengers team. bendtner will prob start and Ade on bench prob to come on later.
one question…what happened to Rosicky? I thought he was a shoe in for a comeback in this game? why is it our players always seem to have set backs. these injuries could seriously derail the season. at this rate we had better concentrate on the PL alone.
I think almunia is fit but wenger has said he will use lehmann in the FAC. lets hope sagna’s personal reasons are not too serious for him and us.
Lets all hope that Clichy is back for A.C as Eboue can cover for Sagna with no major hussle. All else Senderos might have to get fit quickly so that Gallas would play left-back for the Milan game! Things couldnt get any worse!
I would put Eboue at RB, with Toure and Gallas in the middle. At left back we have no choice other than Traore, even though i would like to see Flamini there (I know it won’t happen). In the middle, Flamini and Cesc, with Hleb on the left and Eboue on the right. I would bring on Rosicky in the 2nd half for Eboue. Up front it has to be Adebayor and Edu, even though I have a feeling Bendtner will get the start instead of Adebayor. On the bench we could have used Randall and Gibbs, but it will be: Fabianski, Gilbert, Gilberto, Rosicky, Adebayor.
Correction: Asuming Eboue is fit, he would be my first choice RB with Hleb as RM. Rosicky as LM. If Rosicky is not fit, It would have to be Hoyte at RB with Eboue at RM.
Wenger tactics/games at play here i feel. Saying lots of players are injured and may not make the ManU game. Theres no doubt the champions league is higher priority so if a few miss the cup game through “injury” so they can make the milan game so be it. Fergie will probobly be thinkin the same and now he has his excuse to play a weakened sode too. In which case Wenger will call his bluff and play his strongets team , who are all actually fit.
ohhh the mind boggles
you will find most some of those players will return for milan and are not long term, AW said recently the fa cup is not piority so expect to see players returning prob, diaby, roiscky, sagna, clichy for milan with wenger more resting them ahead of the next week than them been injuried.
im not too sure about the lineup your suggesting… i reckon wenger will whack éboue back into wing defence, then hoyte on the other wing defence… also adebayor instead of bendtner, i hate bendtner, he’s too arrogant, he blames his team mates too much, and he brings the spirit of the team down…
I think the team announcement could be gamemanship with Fergie.
Wenger says I got lots of injuries and may rest some players.
Fergie fields a weakened team.
You know the rest.
i hate to say it because are doing so well. but gilberto and senderos are well capable of destroying our season. senderos is injured.
i hope arsene does not persist in trying to show us who’s boss by playing berty. i know he’s been a good servant to the club, but we must not spoil our season by playing him on saturday.
he seems slow and out of touch with the game.
i will go with your team cannon. looks ok to me.
lol mark c .. don’t think fergie’s that dumb
I wonder. I sometimes feel that wenger is exited by repoting injuries. it was said that flamini played with his injury against BB. He performed very well and still could play next satuday. The arsenal medical staff have different criteria for injury that the other teams. All injuries which took 2-3 months in Arsenal players is a matter of 2-3 weeks in other teams. I couldnot believe it. I never seen our players stretched off from the field but ……
Any way good luck to the gunners
Alexbrigasicky, you’re fucking right one fucking point. Our physios have to the be most incompetent fuckers in the whole fucking league. My eyes weep at the length of time that fuckers like Gallas and van Persie are out? Did we sack all the fucking massuers and hire faith healers? Fucking hell.
Furthermore, what kind of fuckery is this, that we’ve got 8 players out with soft-tissue injuries? That is a fucking lot. Are we over-training? Under-conditioning? Fucking around with too much ball-exercises and not enough fucking time running laps around the fucking oval? Fucking hell, it irritates me so fucking much I want to cry.
I thought Rosicky was expected to probably return vs Utd.
My guess as I understand the situation would be
Mad Jens
Eboue, Toure, Gallas, Hoyte
Hleb, Flamini, Gilberto, Rosicky
Bendtner, Eduardo
That’s assuming Sagna won’t be ok in time. I know we’d be missing our awesome full-backs but seriously Berty is probably the only player there who’s includsion concerns me.
hope man u whoop arsenal’s ass
I agree that our injury list seems to top the league, but I don’t think that is a result of bad physios or bad training. It is a result of what is considered fit to be in the side. Arsene does not want to change the team’s style to accommodate players who can’t play at Arsenal speed. You can see the negative impact of players who are a step slow from rust or age (Gilberto) on the fluency of the side. An injured player has a double impact – they not only can’t play while hurt, they can’t train with the team. When they come back they have to be over their injury, they have to regain fitness, and they have to fit back into the speed and precision of the Arsenal style. Two other things to think about when comparing Arsenal to other teams. First, Each player is an important investment that needs to be protected, Arsenal is very conservative in this matter. Second, Arsenal has more quality, in more depth, than just about anyone else. If you play Clichy, for example, when he is less than 100% fit: (1) he may injure himself worse, (2) he won’t be up to his usual standard anyway so he probably won’t perform better than the person you replace him with (Traore or Hoyte), and (3) the rest of the team will have to alter the way they play to help cover.
I would settle for a draw tomorrow, then clobber them in the second leg at the Grove. Save our best for Milan.
My 11 for that match according to the circumstances:
Jens
Eboue Toure Gallas Traore
Hleb Flamini Fabregas Eduardo
Bendtner Adebayor
But then again as it is Old Trafford away then:
Jens
Eboue Toure Gallas Traore
Hleb Flamini Fabregas Gilberto Eduardo
Adebayor
Tex, to eloborate on your fucking comments about Clichy, I think you’re right. The Arsenal way of playing puts an inordinate strain on the fullbacks. But I think Wenger’ll play him even if he’s 90% fit, purely because he’s so fucking pivotal. If you slot a Traore or a Hoyte in there, those young fuckers won’t have the same fucking rapport with the team. A 90% Clichy is worth more than a 100% Traore, just because he’s had the game time to anticipate what fuckers like Rosick, Hleb and Cesc are thinking. Hence, he’ll play when not completely fit, and he’ll be injured a lot more.
as much as i understand how Clichy is pivotal in the Arsenal team but a hamstring injury against Ronaldo is jus not good enough to risk i would rather we rest him for milan and more so give some experience to either Hoyte or Traore(prefering Hoyte).
Wenger wont rest all of Ade,Hleb and Cesc esp with a injured or recovering Rosicky.he cant afford to rest Cesc and Hleb if he rests Ade which i think we all know he is likely to do.so i think the most likely line-up if the injury set-backs are anything to go by will be like this…
___________Mad Jenz
Sagna__Toure__Gallas__Hoyte
__________Gilberto
____Fabregas____Flamini
Hleb________________Eduardo
_________Bendtner
um sure Hoyte will cope fine with Ronaldo not as well as Clichy but he will be ok and having Toure back will be a bonus.um more worried bout Gilbert but i think his ideal role now will be holding mid with Flamini in there with him and with Hleb nad Cesc to provide the technic um sure we will cope fine
Eboue for Sagna ther jus so used to him being there
Casicky, I agree that we shouldn’t risk Clichy against Utd, but that’s only because I don’t give a rat’s arse about the Fuck All Cup. If it’s possible, we should forfeit the fucking match and concentrate on Milan. It’s too many tough-as-fuck games in a fucking row. Clichy is fucking important, and we need that fucker for the Milan game.
That said, I wonder if the Fugly Fucker himself would condescend to play left back for one fucking game. It’s not too much to ask, is it? Flamini might be lording it up as a fucking midfielder these days, but he’s also a pretty fucking solid LB. I wouldn’t mind seeing that fucker minding Ronaldo while Gilberto sits in behind the back four and in front of Cesc and Hleb. It’ll certainly be a jarring experience for pretty-boy Chrissy Ronaldo to be confronted with such pure, unabashed ugliness for 90 minutes. I doubt that fucker’s seen ANYTHING that fucking ugly for quite a fucking while. I recoil at seeing the fucker on TV; I shudder to think how fucking horrible it’ll be to have his stinky, putrid, ugly, ugly, ugly face right right in front of yours.
send out the under 18 team fuck the fa cup. in 2004 man u kicked the fuck out of us in the semis of fa cup then chelsea beat us in champions league quarter final cause we were knackered.concentrate on premiership and champions league trophies we will.
i agree with don. fuck the fa cup send out the kids.
I’d totally play some young big strong player, like a 16 year-old, at LB and kick the SH!T out of Ronaldo, make sure he is out for the season. EPL would be ours then!! muahahahaha
What are you nutters on about, of course Arsenal need to win the FA cup….give it away to United?? I don’t think so. Wenger will come up with a strategy to win and it’s a good bet that they won’t lose at Old Trafford.
kerrea Gilbert was on the bench on for Blackburn maybe he’ll be drafted in…?
Traore could take his knuckle dusters and finish Ronaldo off!
I think we should go for
Lehmann
Eboue Toure Gallas Traore
Fab Flamini Gilberto Hleb
Eduardo Bendtner (although i actually think ade should start but know he wont)
Our best bet in this situation is to play 4 – 5 – 1
Lehmann
Hoyte Gallas Toure Trarore
Eboue Fabergas Gilberto Flamini Hleb
Adebayor
Clichy’s absence means more pressure is needed in midfield. Gilberto is a defensive midfielder and in the case of a weakened back four he should be employed. Adebayor can cope as a lone striker.
Bench:
Fabianski, Gavin Hoyte, Kerrea Gilbert, Bendtner and Eduardo.
If Arsenal go 1-0 down, sub Gilberto for Eduardo and play 4-4-2
so when’s the riot?
It was just reported that Adebayor and Flamini are both doubts as well with muscular problems. This is how I would play it if they both pass:
Lehmann
Hoyte Toure Gallas Traore
Fabregas Gilberto Flamini Hleb
Bendtner Eduardo
Subs: Fabianski Gilbert Adebayor Eboue Lansbury
flmaini and adebayor are injured aswel u no
These wounds don’t seem to heal-this pain is just too real
great!!!! go on manu!!!
