Agree 100%. With Freddie & Pires you expected them to rise to the occassion. Rarely did they disappoint. With Eboue (and Hleb and others) you just hope they don’t screw up too badly. Gallas was lucky not to be red carded. Adebayour’s dive as sad. At least I was able to be p*ss*ed off in the comfort of my living room with a pint at hand. The players and club owe the travelling supporters an apology if not a refund.
Can we really be suprised? I thought he only played to put fake Ronaldo out for the rest of the season. When he found out he wasn’t playing he decided to get sent off anyway. Spot on Calinfornia Steve about the full backs and gilberto; but united play down the flanks so to play those two muppets and think they could cope is a bit stupid from Sir Wenger. granted though, he had little option with injuries, so all in all id say it was never looking good from the moment the team sheet was read out. the most disappointing thing, however, was not that we conceded 4, but that we made near on zero chances. gilberto is yards off the pace and so doesnt give Cesc time to play. look at fletcher/gallas’ goal….cesc lost the ball earlier because flamini wasnt around to help out. eboue literally did nothing apart from get sent off, and hleb just didnt have anyone around him. eduardo did ok, but bendtner needs ade to help him out.
it seems when we lose in the cups we lose bad, but at least we dont have an extra game replay, like with blackburn and macarthy’s last minute goal last time. disappointing all round, but i really think we can give milan a hard time if the fans get behind them and dont let them down. up the arse.

Traore and Hoyte was the reason we lost so heavily today. Both of them knows nothing about defending and saw how much space Evra and even Brown had at our backs and I must say that they was really scared playing againts man utd. Can’t pass the ball and seems to be very slow and panic when an United player comes running at them!

If we had Sagna and Clichy today sure Man Utd will be back footed most of the time and less pressure and attacks will be on the defence because both of them will run at united’s defence rather than being scared and pass the ball around meaningless and give balls away meaningless.
We can see how both of them are so important in Arsenal’s team balance. Both Cesc and Hleb didn’t have a good game because most of the time they were doing defence work which Hoyte and Traore was so poor in.
You all might have a different idea about why arsenal got trashing today, but look at the goals again and you will see 3 out of the 4 goals was because of Hoyte and Traore’s stupid defending.

our defence collapsed as a collective unit today, and i think it’s fairly obvious that hoyte just isn’t good enough at this level, and i seriously doubt that he will be. traore lacks the experience to cope against quality teams, yet. i’m an wenger die-hard fan, but i’ve been critical of our lack of depth in defence. sagna, toure, gallas and clichy is a rock-solid combination, but replace any one of them… well, we saw two of them today. senderos, though he has outstanding attitude and always gives his best, isn’t exactly word-class either. if one or two of our regular back four succumbs to long-term injury later this season, it may very well be, eh, a bit disasterous, i’m afraid. seeing what i saw today, let’s very, very much hope not.

This isn’t just one game, it’s the second time in only a few weeks. It’s not so much the losing but the manner of the defeats. When you are out, you are out whether it’s 1-0 or 5-0 but the fans have to put up with listening to rivals going on about how outplayed we were. I think Wenger has lost the plot.
Top priority for a season win silverware, second knocking main rivals out of cups. What we get is throwing away domestic cups on the grounds we will win the European Cup. Well I’m still waiting. Eboue is a twat (I used the word cunt earlier, but twat will do just as well) because he did nothing but compound the embarrassment that a half-hearted, couldn’t give a shit attitude brought on us today.
He’s not even very good - we should get-rid ASAP.
Adebayor (for his dive) and Gallas (for his bitchy kick on Nani) weren’t a lot better - but they’ve at least done enough to earn themselves a certain amount of grace.
And as for Gilberto, Hoyte and Traore - well, you can’t hate them. All three are solid pros, committed to the club, and usually do put the effort in for the cause. Unfortunately, all three are nowhere near the required level - the first is way past his best, the second just lacks ability, and the third is way, way too raw at the moment.
The combination of all this made Darren Fletcher look like Cristiano Ronaldo - which is the ultimate humiliation.
Against Milan, I hope we can field: Adebayor, eduardo, hlep, Roscisky, cesck, flamini, sagna, toure, gallas and Clichy

It really upsets me how stupid some arsenal fans are, the complete lack of intelligence and understanding is unbelievable. This game was completely irrelevant, as it was always gonna be from before it started, just like the Spurs game. Both games were games that wenger and arsenal would have rather never have played. Both games should have had reserves playing in them, as with the age and thinness of our squad we have to sacrifice certain matches to stand a chance of being able to compete in the league and champions league. Due to injuries we had to name some first team players in both games, who were just going through the motions under strict instructions to do nothing which could risk an injury.
Today’s result, as the Spurs result, was COMPLETELY irrelevant to our season as a whole, with the only aim of both games being to get through without picking up anymore injuries, and not over-exert ourselves, which we’ve done both times, following up the Spurs game with four wins on the trot and getting ourselves 5 points clear, which would show the spurs game to be a success. Should we get a decent result midweek and end up in another 4 games time with 6 points in the league and through to the quarter finals of the champions league then today’s game, despite the 4-0 scoreline, was a success

As for the game, we deserved the loss and the scoreline flattered us, BUT the only game that matters this season is our away game at ManU in the league.
That will be the title decider. It is a million times more important than our Milan game.
Our squad is very young and very talented, but we are not CL champions material yet. 2 or 3 years from now, we will terrorize everyone if we keep the same core of the team, but right now, if we lose to Milan, it will only mean less fixtures and more focus on the next 12 games.
To be fair to Eboue, the tackle wasn’t really that bad. Was it? I have honestly seen numerous players get away with similar tackles. Didn’t Van Persie do a similar tackle in a Champions League game a couple of years ago and people were moaning because the sending off was harsh. It wasn’t a bad tackle.

I do Have an opinion. We have Injuries. Sagna’s brother has died so he couldn’t play. Clichy was carrying a knock so Wenger didn’t want to risk him. If Rosicky or Walcott were available Wenger could have put Ebuoe at right back but he couldn’t. The main reason the mancs dominated the game was because they play down the flanks and always have done in Ferusons time. Hoyte and Traore were completely out of their depth which gave Nani the freedom he had. In case you hadn’t realised we have a big game on Wednesday a much more important game than Saturdays. As for not liking the physical stuff I love it too especially the fight at the end of the cc final and Keown on horseface. We are 5 points ahead because we have only lost 1 game. The Mancs have lost 4 so I’ll ask you again how has Wenger lost the plot. I have to put up with just as much shit as any other supporter after games like this you have to learn to live with it.

I think eboue was stupid and out of order..something we have seen too many times from him. As an Arsenal fan who went up for the weekend at least expecting a match in which out team participated i was disapointed on a whole. What i think added to this was when at the end of the game *i had stood and cheered and supported for 90 minutes of shit* all but matty flamini (who gave the gooners a good applause) either made a half hearted attempt to applaud from the half way line or just walk straight down the tunnel.
Hopefully the boys cna redeem themselves on wednesday and a quick word for manuel joe ^^ every gooner on here is sad as we lost a game - showing compassion for the club. At least people care. maybe you are one of those man utd fans who live in london who if your team loses couldnt care less.

Of course you’re going to celebrate when you win a cup. However you have to admit with out injury hit and young squad that being out of one competition will help us in the two most important competitions.
