that was purely horrid luck, and liverpool do not deserve a semi-final place by any means whatsoever, and thats that.
right, torres scored a wonderful goal, but even gerrard said “we’ve never played so bad” or summit like that.
AND that gerrard penalty was no more a penalty than hjeb or fabregas’ . complete discipline error.
HUMPH.
Oh well, at least we got as far as we did. I think arsenal played great this season. :(

Agree with you all. We are still the greatest. I think we should trust Wenger a little more though, he has done us proud over the 10 years with players he’s bought in and how he has worked them into the team.

It’s nice to see that we have one of the best young talents in England, Theo looks so dangerous but I feel he’s sometimes lost on the right. I understand that Arsene is easing him into the center forward’s role, it’s just that he seems ready to be unleashed!!

Still….at least we’re not moaning about relegation.

Next Season is ours.

Absolutely gutted yet again but proud of what the team has done this season even if we don’t win anything, I know everyone whinges about referees but the fact is the penalty decision cost us the game, I didn’t think it was a penalty anyway but if it was then Kuyt’s pull on Hleb in the first game definitely was, we also wouldn’t have conceded the 4th if we weren’t forced to push foward because of this decision, major plus point if the game was Walcotts awesome run, must put him in contention to start now.
At the end of the day I think it’s the lack of strength in depth of our squad which has cost us, the core of the team is superb but we lack quality and cover in some areas, Wenger needs to buy some quality players over the summer who can hit the ground running and put us back where we belong, those calling for Wenger to go are crazy but he does need to spend on quality and get some decent performances in the remaining league games

a day on, its still such a bitter pill to swallow…but I guess we’ve got to move on and look to old trafford, if im being honest, right now i dont expect anything from the lads for that game, simply because how on earth…are you supposed to pick them up after last night. sometimes u’ve just got to accept these guy’s are human, and this has been the biggest mental blow of all, more so than the champions league final in my eyes, because we know we’re technically superior to liverpool and showed it last night, the ref’s howlers, everything went against us. This actually doesn’t hurt as bad as it I thought it would. I’m proud of the way the boys played last night. The first third and parts of the second half showed they still know how to play that crisp, beautiful Arsenal football. Of course, I’m completely sickened by the performance we’ve gotten from officials this year. I know all clubs get their fair share of shit calls throughout a season, but… it certainly seems like we got ours and then some this year. Someone should go back and make a video of all the bad calls we got this year, then see what we potentially lost in Prem points and cup placement as a result. Send it to the Arsenal board with a note asking how much this cost the team on their books.

every part of our game was spot on yesterday, except the defence. we really missed sagna in last nights game. As much as don’t like to say it big phil was our down fall. If he’d done his job liverpool would not have scored their first two goal. But the most positive thing we can take from the game was theo’ what a kid. People talk about pato, messi and a lot of south american kids but theo is on another level. when he made that run he reminded me of a certain henry athis prime. But that run is st8 out of a playstation or movie. he has shown arsene, gunners, eboue, england and england manager that he has out grown the bench and it a 1st team player. ConCRATS to liverpool that game is one for the history books, wish them the best and may they win the cup now

I too felt the key turning point was flamini getting injured, he is everywhere on the pitch and makes the difference. Gilberto ‘the invisible wall’ came on but he doesn’t have the legs or the attacking aggression of mathiew. We were struggling to dominate the midfield after that.

Did anyone else think the ‘penalty’ was outside the box anyway? Well im positive too, we’ve had a fantastic year when i didnt expect much more than 4th again, we have discovered some fantastic young players and we’re still in the running for the premiership! I wernt angry last night either, it’s just the nature of the loss which left a bitter taste. still proud.. gooner for life : )
