Nasri Offer Confirmed & Other transfer stories 21 May, 2008

Today’s been quite an eventful day on the Nasri story; I’ve heard all sorts. From ‘the deal’s done, he’s at the training ground’ to, ‘it’s not happening, staying at Marseille’. Well, the latest and official news is that we have made a bid for him and they’re deciding what to do. His agent has admitted that Arsenal have made an approach for the midfielder, which is a start. Here’s what he actually said:
We are not in a hurry. It is true that we are examining an offer from Arsenal, which is interesting for Samir Nasri from a sporting point of view.
But I have also received other offers.
The fact that he’s said they other people are looking at him is supposed to make Wenger make a better offer for Nasri, but we all know that Arsene will not get into a bidding war. He does sound a really exciting player, and even though I only started noticing him a few days ago I’m quite looking forward to the prospect of him playing for Arsenal.
We’re just going to have to wait and see where this story goes. At the moment, it looks like we’re closing in on him, but you never know. I’ll bring you the latest once I hear it.
Yesterday I told you that we’ve been linked with Roma’s Alberto Aquilani. He also sounds like a great little player but this one looks like a no-go. He says he’s flattered to be linked with us but he says it’s not true. He also sounds pretty focused on Roma. So, at the moment it sounds like it won’t be happening but if anything does progress on that one, it could be quite exciting.
One player who is definitely coming to Arsenal this summer, is Carlos Vela. Today, he was finally granted his work permit. So that’s all sorted then, we signed him about 3 years ago but now he’s finally allowed to play for us. He still looks like one for the future though, I’m not expecting him to come in and become our star player, although I do hope he gets a few chances next season.
That’s your lot for today. Apparently there’s some football on tonight. I might watch it now, just to see people crying at the end. Thanks for reading.

According to radio station Talksport we have signed Nasri….still, they are usually full of sh!te so we’ll see…
Latest is that Wenger and Bernes( nasri’s agent) are mortal enemies dating back to when Marseille bought the title in the 90’s. Bernes went to prison for it .Wenger is persuaded that bernes bought some his players when he was in charge at monaco. He is refusing to deal with him, prefering to go through the club instead.
I think the deal will go through but not as fast as predicted.

See that?
Its called a dotted line, and until theres a signiture on it we aint got anybody!
too true Willie, just reporting what they said. I dont think they’ve ever got a rumour right though!
I remember they were reporting Vieira signing for Real Madrid a few years ago.
I just realised something on Vela…..if we signed him 3 years ago then he was probably on a 5 year contract. What’s the betting that next summer he’ll be linked with a move to Barca or Real Madrid himself !?! LOL
dirty turkey,
Your on the money there mate, after another season of “ifs and buts” it will be open house on all our young stars!
Vela only signed a new contract with the club in July 2007 which keeps him here until 2012 or until he buys out his contract or we sell him etc etc

this vela lad looks like a real breath of fresh air, looking forward to seeing him pulling on the arsenal colours next season and banging a few in the back of the net.
whatever happens, whoever we sign, we’re gunna do well next season
Willie Young has pointed out what all those with any common sense know… until the deal’s done, it’s just gossip. The trouble is, it kinda hooks ya!
Still, the future’s bright: the future’s Red (and White)
Shadrack in 7th heaven shortly after Ronny misses his penalty
i really think we’d sin nasri.he’s such a talent.topgunwenger,as for u,really had a shiver wen ronny missed his penalty but man u were worthy winners
Wat on earth happened to the ben afra rumours? ..where did they all go?
What makes me bloody angry is that Wenger insists on buying the dourest, butt-ugly players there are. None of these perspective gunners are good looking. I mean, if we’re going to boot FlimFlam and Hleb out of the side, we should at least look at buying some photogenic replacements. Let’s be realistic here. We don’t have the funds to buy the best side in the league. However, we DO have the funds to buy the best-looking side in the league. And that’s something worth striving for. For example, there’s this really hot player in the women’s Arsenal side. Maybe we could promote her to the men’s team?
