“OMG BARE TRANSFERS NEWS!!1″ 23 May, 2008

trackback

It seems everyone has gone mental over the lack of signings that have happened in the matter of days since the season ended. It’s been a ridiculous 288 hours since our season ended and stupid fat lazy Wenger hasn’t even made one single signing! SACK HIM!!

This Nasri story has really captured the imaginations of Arsenal bloggers across the world. What started off as a transfer rumour has now become a crazy desperation signing that if isn’t sorted in the next couple of days then we’re all doooooomed!

I don’t really know why this is, I think it probably has something to do with our signings over the past few years; because of the stadium fund, Wenger’s chequebook hasn’t been very busy. We’ve had a few decent players in, for sure, but we have had a lot of unproved youngsters.

Arsenal fans are now at the point where we crave any sort of exciting signing and hype him up as much as we can. This isn’t good because, a.) One of us is going to have a heart attack one summer, and b.) We expect so much from these new additions that when they do come, and don’t take an instant to settle in, we think they’re shit.

NewsNow has become NasriNow this week, Arsenal fans in desperation refreshing every minute to see any minor developments on the situation. Arseblogger has refused to get caught up in it all, and Gunnerblog reckons the deal hasn’t happened yet because of this.

Well I’m not going to get caught up in it. In the summer, with the lack of news, it’s easy to just report anything that’s floating about. However I’m not going to let this Nasri situation drive me to state of mental desperation where I can’t sleep because I crave NewsNow and even when I do I have crazy nightmares that Samir Nasri is in my house trying to find the Arsenal contract but I’ve lost it…

So, news news news…erm…Samir Na. NO! Alex Hleb’s Agent says that he loves Real Madrid more than ice cream. This bloke really is a cunt:

For any player in the world it is always a great honour that a club like Real Madrid is interested in him.

This confirms the good work that Hleb has been doing in these last few years that he is being recognised by one of the greatest clubs in the world.

Nobody should have any doubts that the interest from Madrid is a privilege for the player.

What a knob. It’s just totally disrespectful to Arsenal as a football club. He’s basically said that we were just a stepping-stone and he deserves now to play for a big club after all the hard work he’s put in. Whatever. I know Real’s a massive club, and it is quite an honour to become a ‘Galactico’, but they way he’s talking is as if we’re some team that’s never even heard of the Champions League.

I don’t really care what happens with Hleb to be honest, I hope he goes I suppose. He’s not interested in Arsenal, fine. We should get some money for him hopefully and apparently there’s some bloke from Marseille who we might be interested in and is quite good.

That’s enough for today. I will speak to you tomorrow night, and I promise you it won’t be another desperate article on Nasri. Unless of course he signs in the next 24hrs. Have a good night.

If Hleb goes, which by the way he should, then we should sign Diego from Werder Bremen. I am telling you that this guy is pure quality. He is a bit like Hleb but more influential and can play the Arsenal way…..saying that wenger would need to pay top dollar for this guy as he is wanted across Europe. Last two years he has caught my eye and he will definately bring silverware!! Samir Nasri has potential to become class also. Just check his you tube vids! awesome….

2. efwafae - 23 May, 2008

he will sign but so what if he does not we have the whole summer to scout players
rosicky has titanium in his knee now he will be unstopable

3. zak, another one - 23 May, 2008

Zak… youtube only shows like 2 or 3 seconds of every game, u dont see 90 minutes so obviosly he will look good in it.

4. owenleon - 23 May, 2008

Can i just point out to all these amazing journalists who have been reporting on the nasri deal that the french transfer season doesnt open untill monday anyways, this is probablly why we havent had confirmation. Chill out it will be done

5. thegoonerforum - 23 May, 2008

Great stuff & agree

6. Sex Fabregas - 23 May, 2008

Ben Arfa and Nasri better be at the Emirates next week.

7. Zak - 23 May, 2008

We need a centre back too! Someone that can actually header the ball. All the big games we have lost this season are down to the lack of aerial presence at the back, someone like vidic for man utd, tough!

8. Gunner #1 - 23 May, 2008

We all know what wengers capable of, and every1 the world over knows that when he goes to france, he picks up quality talent. nasri’s a quality player with quick feet and an intelligent mind. if we get him, result. if not then im surewenger will pick some guy up from the slums of croatia, as likeeduardo who will be equally as good, and cost alot less. whatever the case, our need for silverware after this season is greater than it ever has been in my lifetime and im sure once again, wenger will provide.

9. Gunner #1 - 23 May, 2008

Oh and another thing, i totally agree with the article saying Hleb’s agent is a complete cunt.

10. gunnergossip - 23 May, 2008

11. Zak - 23 May, 2008

Dnt stress amigo’s every player that has left arsenal in recent seasons have either retired injured or have gone downhill! Overmars, petit, vieira, reyes, pires, wiltord….just to name a few and soon to be flamini playing uefa cup football next season…….haha

12. Uk bubbler - 23 May, 2008

measured article, I think it highlights how desperate we are for some players. wow! don’t wenger and the board understand how we see it. I personally am starving for a real quality signing. I think some of the players are to, particularly the senior ones. Your right the off season has just begun, so give it time. Unfortunately for me this off season already has a familar look to it!

13. fahmy - 23 May, 2008

you’re spot on about the sense of desparation in all Arsenal fans. seriously, when I am at work and the only thought which goes in mind is that, when will this bloke sign for us. every 5 mins i keep on checking Arsenal.com, football365.com, skysports,bbc,goal.com,arsenal mania, setana, arsenalpie and comeon how many more sites to get an update.. Samir nasri’s agent is playing a cat and mouse hunt here and wants to jack up the asking price post Euro ‘08. typical Agent. why all the trouble for fans, is due to Arsene’s polices in the past. he better sign some good players and hope he get’s rid of that joke Eboue. bloody joke and an insult to Arsenal FC

14. Holgus - 23 May, 2008

Overmars did well when he left! Pires, injury aside has done well! Most of the stuff i read/hear is just bs regurgitated from the lazy hacks just desperate for print.People talk like leaving Arsenal is somehow a crime against football. Having said that when u do it like Hleb is trying to, then it is pretty offensive. Until Arsenal can afford to pay top dollar on wages AND transfers then we will get this every year. People (not all) are greedy, why expect footballers to be different. Winning something would of course help though. If only Arsene could buy some more fans who were a little more circumspect.

15. booga booga! - 23 May, 2008

If Hleb leaves he will be a failure. There are players in the past who have left us who had extreme amounts of talent like Overmars but have they improved? No.

It’s because of Arsene and the fantastic coaching at the club that these players are where they are so they should respect Arsenal.

Oh well, if Hleb does go to Real Madrid then he’ll make their fans crazy with his inability to shoot and his ice cream loving habits and it won’t be long before he moves on again.

16. 49 Unbeaten - 23 May, 2008

Is this the moment???????????????????????????????

17. Holgus - 23 May, 2008

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
….are you being ironic?

18. 49 Unbeaten - 23 May, 2008

Yup!!!!!!!!!!!!

19. gazzap - 23 May, 2008

well arsenal times seem pretty sure that the deal is about to be done. as others have said, it cannot be completed until monday. that means if that happens, wenger will have made the deal within hours of first being able to. and here we are getting all hysterical about it. lets chill the fuck out.

I also hope that Hleb goes. dont get me wrong, he has been one our best and influential players and I loved to see him play every week, but this story has gone too far. his mind is elsewhere and he has lost the fans. If he stayed, he’d have a terrible season for us next year, so its best he goes as soon as possible so that wenger can sort any other signings that may come about. See ya Alex, cheers for the goal. Lets see if Madrid pick you every week.

20. i love nasri - 23 May, 2008

we might bring in good young players but they arent loyal at all …

ben arfa and nasri i hope will be taking a tour of the emirates next week but if they actually sign then i’ll blow my bollocks off :)

hleb can go…just like cashley cole and flamini

i tell you who is good….
veloso …sporting lisbon
henry saivet….bordeaux
nasri
ben arfa
and………………
karim benzema

this article is crap it says sack arsene wenger !! f*cking bollocks he just is going senile thats all..he doesnt understand money or transfers.

peace

21. matty - 23 May, 2008

first of all i sincerly doubt helb will leave,if he is leaving he will goto inter milan they are the new chelsea money wise and mourinho, drogba and possibly lampard will be their next season and i have seen nasri play and he is abosolute class and with hatem ben arfa on the other flag we will be a serious force next term. But the big question is who will replace mathieu flamini the players linked with the position are yaya toure only good player against man united, alberto aquilani he also said he is staying with roma, jean makoun plays for lille good player linked with a 10 million pound move and miguel veleoso is a versatile and exciting player but we would be safier off with his sporting lisbon team mate joao mountino he is a creative playmaker but a 20 million price tag.It is also beleived that the deal for nasri and ben arfa can be off because lyon and marseille mght consider a swap deal with the two wingers

22. i love nasri - 23 May, 2008

the thing about this is hleb and hlebs agent are cunts.

hatem ben arfa
karim benzema
samir nasri
miguel veloso
and we are sorted

thing is..that would be the most active and f.cking wicked transfers wenger has EVER done ;)

come on guys this happens every year
remember robinho 2007? us vs ac milan then bugger all happened

23. i love nasri - 23 May, 2008

matty- marseille and lyon are trying that deal because they want to keep stars in the ligue 1 (france)
which is crap compared to the premiership so if both players have any sense then they will both come to arsenal

and dont forget both of them have to both sign for the other team so they gotta both want to go.

TOURE ALL THE WAY

24. i love nasri - 23 May, 2008

oh and one last thing …….

check the stats on hleb this season…he’s been crap
not enough assists for someone who scores 4 per season
and his pass success rate was the worst out of midfield four lol worse than eboue and walcott

by the way eboue is sh.t let him go

25. NASIR - 23 May, 2008

i dnt even think fla-money will play in the uefa cup coz ive heard that ronaldinho is goin to milan, u tell me were the name fla-money comes up on the team sheet???? ronaldinho kaka gattuso…..

26. Mark - 23 May, 2008

Diego, Hamsik, De Guzman, Nasri or Ben Arfa would all be quality additions and be way better than that prick Hleb. The fucker cannot shot just CANNOT. Will we miss his ball retention and great build up or his extreme lack of goals or even assists? Not bloody likely if we sign 1 or please god 2 of the said above players. You know it pisses me off when someone like Hleb does this to our fantastic club when we spent good money (I think about 11 mill) on him and three seasons in he has the nerve to pull this shit with his cunt agent. His first season he was shit. He was no Pires or Ljungberg. The noise in london. Does the twat not know that Madrid is a major city too. Arse!
We’ll still be the shit next season no doubt.

27. Mark - 23 May, 2008

Oh and another thing Vela is not like Reyes. I saw enough of him this season and i reckon he can take the physical side of the Premiership unlike Reyes and he’s been away from his home for a few years now so unlikely to get homesick. All this and he loves getting his dinner at around 6 in the evening. Just thought you’d care to know.

28. Alexandre - 24 May, 2008

If Madrid its really interested in Hleb, Arsenal should negociate with then to bring Robinho, which Wenger tried to do last season.

29. gunnergossip - 24 May, 2008

gunnergossip.blogspot.com for arsenal news updated 24/7.

30. sous chef - 24 May, 2008

You may not have heard of him but this guy is absolutly class. He is 23, swiss, left winger tranquillo barnetta (type it into google) i have him on fifa 08 and he is a great player one to look out for.

Also AW should sign Lulinha v.similar to nasri both very good options and i think arsenenshould signthem both

31. terry - 24 May, 2008

singing nasri 4 sure is a gud buy. but losing hleb withont better replacement is a bad results. mr wenger please make the right singing. ben ahfa+nasri+mario gomes=hleb

32. DeiseGooner - 24 May, 2008

“i have him on fifa 08″ - yet again this is why soo many fans shit their pants when linked with players. its a fucking game. granted they have all the hot prospects in there but its still a fuckin game. The real world and real live players is just a little different , no ?

fuckin champo manager for scouting players fuck sake

33. :) - 24 May, 2008

I WANT QUAREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

34. young gun - 24 May, 2008

Let Hleb go !! daaamn this guy had no feeling or and love for the
club at all ! .. Older players such a Hleb Gilberto should all stick
with the club and help along with the youngsters to fight for the
championship next season. He is nothing more or less than Flamster the Hamster, thee main aim is MONEY ! In my opinion i would like Nasri and Ben Arfa to come to the club, Amazing players. We also need a really tough and strong center back who can be trusted.
I’ve hear there are som great players in portugal like Moutinho and
Veloso i advice Wenger to take a look at them too.
Best of Luck To The Gunner and.. In Arsene We Trust !

35. willie young - 24 May, 2008

Nasri is a bog standard midfielder and not too much better than what we have got. People coming on this site and now raving about him are showing signs of desperation. Hleb is having it on his toes and flamini has gone, could this whole sorry story of our season and then players jumping ship happen to any other top drawer club in europe? We should face facts and prepare for another season of challenging for a top four position and regarding it as a success if we do. Wenger and the board are going to con us again by telling us arsenal have bought potentially world class youngsters, but what is the point when as soon as they develop the piss off! I am fed up with being told season after season that we will be better next year. Unless we start spending big we will always be considered a feeder club amongst europes elite.

36. E=mc2 - 24 May, 2008

Young man,

What player has got any feeling for the club?
cesc? clichy? but for how long? All the”in arsene we trust” stuff is outdated. Arsenal isnt some kind of 5 year experiment where we try to win as much with kids as possible, we are a football team with iconic status and a history second to none and to allow one man to keep peddling an unsuccessful policy is madness. We need to change our wage and transfer policy, thats not just me saying that but footballing experts, how much longer are all you wengerites going to keep up your deluded obsession with an unsuccessful policy?

37. up stix.com - 24 May, 2008

Apparantly hleb has had showdown talks with wenger and is now being allowed to leave, great so if adebeyor, rosicky and dare i say it cesc want to leave will wenger cave in a simply? As much as i hate man utd, fergie says players are staying and thats it, and they are 800 mill in debt!

38. willie young - 24 May, 2008

Remember this?
………………………………………………………………………….
A dotted line, and no signitures yet, so dont get ahead of yourselves young gooners!!

39. E=mc2 - 24 May, 2008

yeah, there is a rumour sweeping my house that messi wants to sign for us but until he puts pen to paper……………

40. fatpauli - 24 May, 2008

Fuck Hleb. He wants to go somewhere quieter so Milan or Madrid. What a cunt!!!!!!!!!
Let’s get some fit young players in who are not prone more often than upright. Nasri and Ben Arfa are both quality but we have some quality in the squad already. If we hadn’t bottled the month of April we would be champions now.

41. Hell yeah! - 24 May, 2008

Anyone remember Ben Arfa? Last week he was apparently a definite signing, but nothing since then. Hope it’s not the same thing again!!!

42. LadyGooner - 25 May, 2008

I get a big laugh out of bloggers who don’t even check their facts. Nasri was 2007 Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year, just as our Cesc was 2007 PFA Young Player of the Year. So is that what defines ‘average’ in your mind??? Get a life and another team to support; Arsenal doesn’t need your clueless complaining.

43. lasagnechef - 25 May, 2008

Fuck off. Who said ‘average’? Get a life woman.

44. sous chef - 27 May, 2008

E=MC2, I can assure u messi will not sign for arsenal
