Lazy Sunday 8 June, 2008

I can’t remember the last Sunday where I was completely free from any sort of work and had the day to do whatever I want. So I’m going to go and play football seeing as the sun’s out for once.
Thought I’d better do a quick update though. There’s not a great deal going on today. I suppose the big news Arsenal-wise at the moment is that Aaron Ramsey has now met with Arsene Wenger. He flew out to Switzerland to meet with Le Boss this weekend after being with Man United this week. We will really see the kind of character this guy has by which club he chooses to go to this summer.
If it’s Everton, he proves that it’s not all about the money. If it’s Arsenal, then it shows he has ambition and belief to get into a top side where a position is available if he fights for it. Or if it’s Man United, it proves that he’s an utter cunt and shall rot in hell for his sins. It’s a big choice.
Here’s what Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale had to say after speaking to Aaron on Friday:
He told me he’d had a great day at United and was on his way to see Arsene. After that, the final decision is up to the boy. Aaron spoke to Sir Alex Ferguson before visiting United. He’s a sensible lad and will listen to what Arsene has to say.
To me, that sounds like he favours United, but this was before he met Arsene. As everyone knows, the decision is totally up to him. Hopefully we’ll find out something next week.
As I said, Arsene is currently in Switzerland, at Euro 2008, but he’s still been talking Arsenal and saying that he might only be at the club for another 3 years. His contract expires in 2011 and he says he has no idea what he’ll do after that. I remember when it was his 10th anniversary at Arsenal, he said he doubts that he’ll do another 10 years. That’s fair enough but it is worrying.
Everybody* loves Arsene and nobody* wants him to go but I think we all know that he won’t be around forever. He has still got 3 years left, at least. So lets see what happens in three years time, yeah? Ok.
Arsene’s been talking about Cesc.
And that’s about it. Have a good Sunday. I’ll leave you with this video I’ve been given, about William Gallas. Thanks for reading.
* There are some fans that dislike Wenger. They are a minority though and I really believe they should have a long think about what he’s done for this club.

The problem with having someone as good as him (AW) is who do you replace him with? If he does win his holy grail that is the CL then you’d assume he’s off for sure. Maybe he’d re-sign if we haven’t won it yet. How does it go? cut your nose to spite your face etc…
It’d be nice to get him to sign soon for an extension to his contract. He’s the reason Cesc is still there how many more would leave if he did?
but then again Wenger knows this…….
The way some “Gooners” are going on with themselves, I think they’ll be screaming for Wenger to get sacked if he doesn’t come up with a trophy next season.
Never ever ever ever…Never
I don’t know about the rest of your readers, but I will be sad to see the day Arsene goes. You don’t get rid of the best manager in the world lightly. I hope he DOES make it another ten years!… That said, I have my eyes on two managers who I think have the potential to be a successor to Arsene (when he does finally decide to go, and hopefully that’s a long time away…). One is Tony Mowbray of West Brom… and the other is Slavan Bilich of Croatia. Both seem to have the commitment to attacking football and deep understanding of the game… as well as some other intangibles such as thoughtfulness, personality, and necessary gravitas.
Slavan Bilich stands out as the best young manager anywhere at the moment. On and off the field he oozes class.
i for one want the bastard sacked, for failing to strengthen the team and aloowing idiotic players like ade, flamini and helb taking Arsenal to the shits
get rid of him fast………………
Arsene is buying 16—-17 year olds, as far as I can see, he will stay to see his plans come to fruition. I believe he will stay for at least another five years or so. His recent comments casting doubt about AF retiring in 3 year give an insight into how he is thinking.
i reckon arsene will get moved upstairs if we draw another blank this season as that will be four years without any proper silverware and surely we cant accept that if we are going to be considered as one of europes elite?
Perhaps we should already be looking for a replacement?
Danny is proof that every blog has at least one idiot
We have to remember though Sir Alex has only 2-3 years left aswell.
Danny and Paul are proof that every blog has one idiot, and one man who likes to wear womens panties under his boxer shorts
Billy is proof that some people have huge noses
KT Bird is proof that girls dont know much about WWF wrestling
slaven bilic reminds me of Jose Mourinho. Arsene’s replacement should be Tony Adams
