Wouldn’t it be awkward if Adebayor stayed? 3 July, 2008

trackback

This week, news towards the Adebayor story has sort’ve gone in ‘Arsenal’s favour’. That’s in inverted commas because I’m not so sure we’d want to keep him anymore.

Earlier this week, AC Milan ruled themselves out of the race saying that they cannot afford our valuation of the striker. He has three years left on his deal, and he’s in great form, so there’s no reason why there shouldn’t be a hefty price tag dangling from him.

According to their chairman, we apparently asked for £35.8million to secure Adebayor’s services. That’s 45 million euros! If we could get that sort of money for him that’d be great. Not surprising that Milan have opted out of a deal. Maybe they will re-negotiate? However it does seem like they’ve lost interest and will now fight Manchester City for Ronaldinho’s signature…haha!

Since Milan pulled out, it’s all gone a bit quiet; haven’t heard much from Barcelona. Now, his agent has spoken about it again. Doesn’t sound quite the same as last week; He’s not going ‘we demand this’, ‘Adebayor deserves that’ and ‘we’ve had offers from so and so…’. Now this is what he’s saying (I’ve highlighted 3 sentences that I’d like to answer specifically to):

“It is vital that Arsenal show their motivation to keep him. (*1) There has been a love story between Adebayor and Arsenal and his relationship with Arsene Wenger (*2) is based on trust and respect.

If this was a money problem, then he would have asked to leave. He is a man of heart, not of money. He is not greedy. (*3)

BULL-FUCKING-SHIT!

Haha! Someone’s changed their tone. From the sounds of this, a transfer is falling through.

*1 – What?! We never tried to get rid of him. You engineered all of this!

*2 – You didn’t seem to care so much about this special relationship last week when you were flirting with Barcelona and AC Milan.

*3 – I’ve never heard such shite in my life! Last week Adebayor clearly explain that this was a money issue. He said he needs to save for his retirement and feels he should be on a much better salary. This third part is hysterical.

For me, he’s crossed the line too far. I’m not sure I could accept him back. If a transfer does fall through, and he does end up playing for us next season, I won’t know what to think. Do I boo him? No, but I’m certainly not singing his name. I’ll probably give him evils. Then he’ll feel sorry.

It’s not over yet so we’ll have to see what happens. My prediction? This’ll go on and on until 1st September until we finally find out he’s staying. But to be honest, I don’t give a shit what happens.

So who got their new shirt today?

If the daily mail is to be believed, then Barcelona has a take it or leave it deal of 30 million. lets ttake it and get him out of here. that’s a great deal.

2. Anon - 3 July, 2008

30 million,Ade Bye Bye.

3. Bob - 3 July, 2008

I agree with stonroy, that’s too good to be true, we HAVE to take that offer up if it comes our way.
Then Wenger can buy the players we need and whoever he feels necessary to replace him, and have the money to do so a lot easier.

4. Mike - 3 July, 2008

eto and yaya = £30m

5. questioner - 3 July, 2008

Adebayor is a greedy monster just like his idol Kanu
pls get rid of him and quickly too

6. Richie - 3 July, 2008

TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN!

7. Andy - 3 July, 2008

if he stays we should greet each of his goals next season with silence…

8. Franny - 3 July, 2008

£30m?? F*CK THAT!! I would’ve accepted a double your money offer of £14m!!! lol

Let him go; the guys heart is obviously in it for the money and I’m sick of the sight of him now.

F*ck off you c*nt and see how many chances get handed to you on a plate in Barca.

9. stonroy - 3 July, 2008

Just think about it. 30 million for Adebayor, 25 million for transfer spending. So we have 55 million. What to do?

13 million taken away for Nasri= 42 million.
Possibly Huntelaar for 20 million or Santa Cruz for 15 million. Gives us plenty of money for Veloso and a great CB….What do you all think?

10. Franny - 3 July, 2008

Andy: how about we stop singing give him the ball or singing his name.

Greet his goal with cheers… for the guy that handed it on a plate for him which will probably be Cesc or Theo mostly.

11. Franny - 3 July, 2008

stonroy: Unfortunately Wenger doesn’t work like that.

I’d be happy to use that £30m to wipe off some of our debt quicker so we can spend the profits quicker.

I mean I’d prefer that than him staying now.

12. Tony Adams - 3 July, 2008

Too right, it’ll be awkward! It serves the bastard right. Let him suffer the cold sholder from his “fellow profesionals”. (I doubt the likes of Toure, Cesc and Clichy will be happy with him.) Let him serve the remainder of his contract on the bench. On his “measly” £40,000 a week salary. Ungreatful, egotistical, cunt. Maybe we should loan him out to a togolese club and let him play barefoot in the dirt, on pennies. Remind him where he came from and how his life could be!

I’d be more than happy to earn what he earns over a matter of years, let alone a week and I’ve worked a hell of lot harder than him. Fucking hell i’m not even Togolese. What must they be thinking?

13. stonroy - 3 July, 2008

Franny the long term picture will take care of itself. we have to think about the short term, ie, winning silverware and keeping Cesc. The footballing landscape is changing and so much money is being injected into so many clubs, and who knows if Wenger will stay in a few years time, (I hope he does). It’s been too many years without silverware and we have to silence our critics and the evil cunts like AC Milan and Barcelona just hoping for another Trophy less season.

14. John - 3 July, 2008

The guy is dead in the water as far as the fans are concerned. If he stays, he will be greeted with, at the best silence, but more probably boos. AW will know this and the potential impact on team moral. I’d take the money now, and I believe AW will, once he has lined up a replacement, or found a way of using the money wisely.

15. Tony Adams - 3 July, 2008

Does he really believe he’ll get the quality of service he gets from Fabregas and co. else where? He’ll get half the goals and he’ll end up the nobody he is destined to become.

Sorry I’m ranting, but what a cunt!

16. kev - 3 July, 2008

ROB THE BARCstards 30mil take it , his first touch is like a shot anyway

17. Marimba - 3 July, 2008

If it wasnt about money can the agent polease explain;

WHY THE FUCK DO ARSENAL HABE TO PAY HIM MORE AFTER ONE SEASON?

BTW;

If it is true Brca are preparing a £30 million take it or leave it offer, can we all larf our tits off as Arsenal take the money and run, while larfing their collective tits off!!!!

18. Franny - 3 July, 2008

I’d shag a fat bird if he goes. That’s how much I want the c*nt gone.

19. OzGoonerGuy - 3 July, 2008

stonroy – I’m right there with you. I think Arsene has been fucking with Barca because he know Laporte is screwed without the signing. 30m is far too much for him, way too good to knock back.

I don’t know if we need another front man without him. Eduardo, RVP, Bendtner, Walcott, Vela. More youngsters to come too. Huntelaar, Santa Cruz or even Martins would be great, but would block the youngsters.

If signings go through for Nasri and Bischoff/Veloso then that deals with the midfield.

The boss has said he’s not signing defenders. So he’s banking on the youngsters coming through – Song, Nordveit, Gilbert, Djourou, half a dozen Hoytes, etc.

The keeping area is the difficult one. I think we need an experienced backup to Almunia. If he suffered a long-term injury, could Fabianski and Mannone carry us in all competitions? I don’t think so. They’re a couple of years short. We need a top class experienced keeper to bridge that gap.

20. Tony Adams - 3 July, 2008

Wow Franny, you’d go that far?!

21. Iyin Ekiti - 3 July, 2008

why wont he leave for better dough?aint we all working for the future..let the poor boy get some fat salary from AC while we get somefund to finance our passion SANCTA!

22. Michael - 3 July, 2008

he can fuck off for 30 bob the stupid cunt

23. Bobby - 3 July, 2008

I’ve felt really disheartened by thi situation with Adebayor. But’ after all the comments and remarks made by him he’d better leave or ill enjoy a boo or 2 every time he touches the ball. 2 mill from monaco thats 29 mil profit according to this ‘take if or leave it story’

Adebayor thinks he’s filled King Henry’s boots already, let the scum go and play with Henry he might learn a thing or two.

24. Marimba - 3 July, 2008

Come one fellas.

Who the fuck doesnt think it is effin hilarious that we may get £30 millioj for Ade???

The world has gone ffin crackers!

25. Franny - 3 July, 2008

Tony: Yes I would. I would go THAT far for him to just be out.

26. Mongoose Pepper - 3 July, 2008

no ones going to pay 30mil yet, we pay him more money extend his contract and sell him next season….use him whilst we can and whilst we need…..Bendtners shit and we ain’t getting Cruz…..You get me!

Don’t act in hast, take time Wenger…..Dam…As supporters we should be more cunning and extortent of all assets…..ADE’s ok …he’s a African that went to France to play footie……Why do u knock him for wanting more cash, dam if any of u were in his shoes, you’d do the same……he ain’t a Aresenal fan, he’s just doing a job……

27. stonroy - 3 July, 2008

Oz gooner, we had the chance to buy a phenomenal goalkeeper in Heurelho Gomes. the man holds so many records in the dutch league, longest amount of time without a goal scored on him, most clean sheets. Granted it is the dutch league, but fuck i would have given my left nipple to sign him. Where does he go? Down the road to White Shart Lane. Wenger has way to much confidence in Almunia, he is our weak link me feels.

28. Tony Adams - 3 July, 2008

Franny: Actually, I’d even go as far as to let Ashley Cole use my mobile phone if Adebayor left.

29. sam - 3 July, 2008

we should kick his greedy arse out; wenger is being very clever in negotiating by asking for such a high price…
I cannot see him having as good a season as he did in the near future (I hope to eat my words if he stays). but frankly for 30 mil there is no question.

bye ade

30. Dave - 3 July, 2008

Take the 30m ofc but i wouldnt be surprised if Wenger only spent 2m of it on a 17 year old replacement.

We rightly criticise Adebayor, Hleb etc as it is all about them wanting more money, using other clubs to get AFC to offer them a better contract, no matter what spin their agent puts on it.
But please do not forget, Wenger himself seems to do this with the board every 3 or 4 years and makes us all worry until the last moment (although he always honour his contract).

For those that have been posting fantasy football names on how he will spend his 50m are dreaming, it never happens at Arsenal. If it not spent i am sure our season ticket price will be reduced instead :)

31. stonroy - 3 July, 2008

Mongoose regarding.”Why do u knock him for wanting more cash, dam if any of u were in his shoes, you’d do the same”..
One season just isn’t enough to think you’re in the same league as our beloved Henry, fuck 10 seasons isn’t still enough. Thank god he didn’t mention Dennis Bergkamp or i would have to knock him off myself. However, if he showed that he wasn’t a one season wonder then i would agree with you. He’s still very young and has plenty of time. I just think he fucked his long term chances of making even bigger money, because of his stupid short sightedness.

32. smith - 3 July, 2008

he fits in to the arsenal system perfectly, AW is desperate to keep
him, and players like santa cruz dont drop deep, link play and
lay the ball of like him, so i say stay even if he is a greedy bastard
Anyway who isnt these days, Flamini joined a uefa cup club to play in half empty stadiums for the sake of 5 grand extra, now that fuckin
greedy

33. block 93 - 3 July, 2008

if he stays no one should shout his name at tge beginning of a game when the team is being called out.

Hope he goes though 30 mil for a guy who has the first touch of a 2 year old and hasn’t learnt the offside rule is a good bit of business imo.

34. ARSENALRED - 3 July, 2008

Do any of you really believe that “IF” we get £30 million for “ANYBARNDOOR” (6 of his 30 were against Derby ) Arsene will be given anymore that an old fiver to buy a replacement, Then you have more faith in the board than I do.
Wasn’t the whole financial side of our move to the Emirates based on the sale of Highbury Square properties! At a time when the property market is in more dissary than Sendeross marking Drogba. We’re skint ! we need the money, But most of all we need Arsene to keep us up there until a fairy god mother appears

35. RG - 3 July, 2008

Well I accept I am seriously in the minority & if the majority of gooners feel as strongly as the comments on this blog then I can see Ade’s best going. At least we’ll get a huge profit on him (for what it’s worth since we never seem to spend it. Haven’t even spent Thierry’s profit yet)
I also accept they way he & his agent have gone about this is bad but it doesn’t change the fact the guy’s on 35k a week & if reports are to believed we’ve offered him 45k.
Torres on 45k – to live in that dump? You must be mad!.
Drogba on 45k – 45 a day more like!
Rooney on 45k – he’d have stayed at Everton, they’d have paid him more than that!
He replaced Henry & by that I mean he filled the massive hole T14 left behind – we nearly won the league with his goals. If true, 45k is an insult.
As RVP warned us, Arsenal carry on insulting the top players with uncompetitive wages & he won’t be the last to leave in his prime.

36. Franny - 3 July, 2008

Tony: Would you use that phone again?

37. Righty - 3 July, 2008

I cant beleive we’ve turned down a £24m bid by Barca.
I would happ[ly drive the ‘overated mercenary’ there myself!
Adebayor can fuck off to wherever he wants, cos it wont be too long before he realise’s what a huge mistake he’s made when the Spanish/Italian fans are ‘on his case’ when they realise he ‘aint all that’
Good riddance i say.
We dont want his sort over the Arsenal.

38. Franny - 3 July, 2008

RG: F*ck off you as well.

Henry performed year after year to finally earn what he finished on. Ade after 1 season and 0 titles earns the right to earn as much as Henry?

What a f*ckin joke. What has old Adebarndoor achieved? Never been a top goal scorer for any competition and won 0 trophies with Arsenal.

Get the Jinx out and see the good times roll in.

39. Connolly's agent - 3 July, 2008

Do we really need the money? And how much of that 30 million will go back into the team? If we could get the funds and buy a sexy, experienced striker, I’m all for it. If we’re going to buy a crappy journeyman like Santa Cruz or Martins, I’m not. I want someone who’s dicernibly better than Ade, otherwise, I want to keep what we’ve got.

Anyway, I like his song. Reminds me of the old lunchtime bell at school.

40. Tony Adams - 3 July, 2008

Franny: No. I’d put on Ebay and sell it to a Chelsea fan. Then I’d use the money to pay a better player’s transfer fee.

41. Franny - 3 July, 2008

I like the way you think Tony. Maybe we could send Dexter to deal with Abramovich while we’re at it.

42. alf15 - 3 July, 2008

None of this shit is true, there is not bid from Barca or Milan it all Ade’s agent saying that there is, so he can force a better deal from Arsenal!

Ade deserves a raise for all his hard work and goals. He will be at Arsenal next year for defo and he will sign a new deal in the coming weeks. He deserves 60-70k a week!

Wenger get your finger out give Ade and Cesc better deals and then buy some players!!!!!!

43. Danish Gooner - 3 July, 2008

Ungrateful bastard !!!!!!!!!!!!!

44. Mark Callanan - 3 July, 2008

Get real. Santa Cruz wont get us 30 goals next year nor will Martins. For all his weaknesses Ady is closer to Drogba than anyone else in Europe, so if you want that style of player, and I do, you keep him. As to the Board I believe they are lying on the money front. So if Ady goes Martins is probably what we’ll get .What gets me is that Wenger is supposed to have last years carryover from the £25m pot +this years money +anything from transfers coming in- but obviously he hasn’t and we’re being strung along
And please dont ayone tell me how we can win the league with Van Persie and Eduardo as our front two

45. Tony Adams - 3 July, 2008

Franny: I think thre are probably a lot of powerful Russians, who are biding their time anyway. We’ll leave it to them. Besides, the more Chelsea spend, the more Man Utd will have to, to keep up. They’ll both go bankrupt and then we’ll laugh.

46. RG - 3 July, 2008

Franny – of course he hasn’t done what Henry did for us/ he shouldn’t earn as much as Henry.
Do you think Barca are offering him what we paid Henry? In his dreams. He wanted an increase & I’m not surprised – 35K? . I don’t believe for 1min he’s asked for what Henry’s getting.

47. Jason Hickey - 3 July, 2008

Adebayor he is a greedy c@nt and his agents a whore! get rid of him it took me till November to see that he was a hard worker but not a natural finisher – i would take 20 just get hum out we dont need another big time charlie.

48. Tony Adams - 3 July, 2008

Jason:

“Adebayor Adebayoooooor! He is a greedy cunt and his agents a whoooooooore!”

We’ll be singing that next season!

49. ITS-UP-FOR-GRABS-NOW - 3 July, 2008

i totally agree with alf15…i think we need to keep ade…wenger has described him as a perfect replacement for henry..he proved it last season with 30 goals so i think he merits a new deal…joey barton earns twice as much as him…if u have some scumbag like him earnin more than you then theres something wrong…

50. Jason Hickey - 3 July, 2008

Thank you Mr Adams that is exactly what i had in mind – I think i will start it off at Underhill!

51. Tony Adams - 3 July, 2008

Jason:

What..? In the Pre-season friendly with Barnet or in the reserve games? Either way, hopefully, he’ll be in the team to suffer it!

52. Jason Hickey - 3 July, 2008

In the pre season game – The coward probably won’t be there but hey at least the team will here it loud and clear and know what we think of him.

I think Fulham away will be the brilliant to get it off the ground!

If he stays i will not be backing him the man is big time charlie

53. Tony Adams - 3 July, 2008

Jason:

Even the Yids would sing it! We could go around the country getting the away fans to sing with us. And in the champions league final we could have the opposition fans sing in their own language. (I’d love to hear the Bayern fans singing in German.) I’d piss my pants with excitment!

54. Tony Adams - 3 July, 2008

Adebayor Adebayooor! Er ist ein gierig Fotze und sein Vertreter ist eine Hure!

Got it translated on Google translate.

55. California Steve - 3 July, 2008

Every one of you thinking up ways to humiliate Ade if he stays are just fucking daft.

Why don’t you just start singing for the other teams and wearing their strips?

Dammit, if the boss decides that our best chance at a title is keeping the big guy up front, then that’s good enough for me. I will NEVER turn on an Arsenal player while he’s still at the club — didn’t even do it with Cashley.

You all should be ashamed. You’re calling this kid from Togo every ugly name you can think of and claiming he’s not fit to wear an Arsenal shirt again.

Fuck that — are YOU???

If Emmnauel Adebayor is playing for Arsenal this season, I’ll know the gaffer has thought it through — he DOES know more than we do, you clowns — and decided it’s our best shot at silverware.

And I’ll be cheering for the club, the shirt and No. 25.

Honest to God, I can’t believe how many of you read some crap on a blog or in a red-top, decide the guy’s greedy bastard and you’re shot of him.

I agree with the poster who said if you want greed, look at Flamini.

Can anyone here say that anybody – ANYBODY! –played harder or with more determination that Ade last year? He made us a different and more dangerous team.

OK, so he and his agent have said stupid things. So does everyone else in football. The sainted TH14 said so many idiotic things before he left — and now he’s your god again.

Give Ade his 60K, which is totally fair, let him lead the line and with Vela and Nasri coming in, and Theo having a breakthrough year, we’re going to win this thing.

Get your heads back on straight, folks, or don’t bother wearing the shirt yourselves.

56. Gunner4life&beyond - 3 July, 2008

Thank you California Steve, always a voice of reason in the pit of stupid internet comments. People may just be letting off steam, but it’s pathetic. Let’s wait and see what happens, either way Arsenal cannot lose, so who cares?

57. jean lu pooty - 4 July, 2008

i will come to a huge dilemma if ade staysthe guy has in the last bit shown what a total ignorant prick he is he is however a useful striker and should he stay would most likely bag some important goals for can i overlook the prick bit he gave us this summer, hard to answer honestly especially if he put in a winning goal vs manure to slip us the title but still probably fucking not i really developed a stankeye for this dim twat that may never go away

58. george - 4 July, 2008

could it be that the reason that Arsenal are asking for so much money for Adebayor, is because they really do want to keep him?

This is a huge compliment. Ade, listen to your heart, not your agent who is probably after a nice chunk of any possible sale.

You’ve got such fantastic people around you. It shouldn’t be about getting more money at another club.Neither should you allow Arsenal to be destabilized by unscrupulous clubs vying for your (and other players) services. Your contract was signed in good faith. Honour it, play well, and you will still have chances to move in the future.

Personally, I want Ade to stay. You’ve been brilliant most of the season and caused major headaches for the opposition, but this has been alongside your Arsenal team mates.

59. jean lu pooty - 4 July, 2008

california steve, telling people what your version of a proper fan is,is just that. your version .every single person in here has for whatever reason connected to this team and you wanna tell them how they should behave or are no longer welcome supporters .thats shit mate and a little facist. good points on trusting Le Boss but way outta line to claim everyone else behavior is not welcome .maybe you outta try being a little less the pompous ass and allow people the right to air their grievances in whatever form on a blog they deem necessary

60. Jason Hickey - 4 July, 2008

Re comments Gunner 4 life and california steve: Thank you for you purile comments some which i have not mentioned ..flamini, Henry et all – As a life long Arsenal fan who travels all over Europe to see his team i feel that it is my righ to act in a way that i see fit.We all love the club and want what is best. Adebayor is a disgrace and has shown complete disloyalty to the club, its fans, manager and team mates.

61. Tony Adams - 4 July, 2008

California Steve – He may be at the club but he is not an Arsenal player. Up until last week I shared the same view as you. Listen to his comments before you make your own. He wants £120,000 not £60,000 and he has compared himself to Henry. He has shown a lack of loyalty and respect and he will not be playing for Arsenal next year.

Yes the words I have chosen to use are strong and I am sorry if I have caused offence to anybody. However if I had hurt Adebayor like he has hurt me and my fellow fans, and had done what he has done, I would expect the same treatment.

As for defending a player until they are sold, whatever their action: You are being loyal to the player over the club, the badge, the fans and the history they represent.

His only defence is in his apparent stupidity.

62. Jason Hickey - 4 July, 2008

Well summed up Tony.

63. OzGoonerGuy - 4 July, 2008

Cali Steve. I agree partly with you. Wneger has also said though that he won’t keep hold of a player who wants to go. He’s just getting the best price for him now.

I have no sympathy or respect for Adebayor. He has shown almost no loyalty to the club, the boss, or the fans. Saying he is not money motivated is just a lie. He made his own comments about his retirement fund, he wants 120k not 60k, and after a single decent season thinks he deserves to be remunerated like Henry? Come on.

A guy like this is plain bad for the club. We can get a good price, get a great replacement (Huntelaar, Santa Cruz, Martins…) and still have money left over. I think reducing possible exposure to African Cup departures is a good thing too.

Adebayor always has a focus on money. Let him go. If he can’t dislodge Henry at Barca he’ll be a great site on the bench. And let’s be honest, he’s no Henry.

One final thing. Arsenal fans don’t need to be racist or flining shit at each other. We’re better than that.

64. noel reynolds - 4 July, 2008

adebayor adebayor he just loves money and now he wants more.

fuck him off asap.

scumbag.

65. fimbo - 4 July, 2008

I think we should keep ade if we want to win something next season. We cant keep on losing players who gained experience the experience we really need. They should at least give him about 60k with that I think he will stay.
asene believes in moulding and developing his team and how can he do that if he keeps on losing players.

66. Tony Adams - 4 July, 2008

OzGoonerGuy – Nobody is being racist and nobody is flinging shit. We are all angry and we all have a right to an opinion.

67. Jack Staniforth - 4 July, 2008

” esprit de corps” – “team spirit”

How can a person give his all to the cause and deliver a sincere performance week in week out when his only motivation is money?

This is mercenary stuff.

If there is any truth in what we read it is better Adebayor, like Flamini, follow the money trail and not let his attitude fester in the minds of other players.

Sure he scores goals ( and misses quite a few) that`s his job and with the service he gets from Fabregas and co. I think I could slot a few in myself and I`m in my mid seventies with two knee replacements.

68. Tony Adams - 4 July, 2008

Jack, I love it!

69. ADEBAYOR IS RUBBISH - 4 July, 2008

SELL THE MUG!
HE’LL GET BOOED BY BARCELONA FANS AFTER A SEASON OF WATCHING HIM MISS 10 CHANCES TO SCORE ONE, BE CONSTANTLY OFFSIDE, UNABLE TO PASS, UNABLE TO CONTROL A BALL, UNABLE TO CELEBRATE WITHOUT PUTTING HIS HAND TO HIS EAR EVEN TO HIS OWN FANS!!! WHAT A MUPPET!
GET RID OF HIM. HE’S NOT WORTH £10M.

70. iceman - 4 July, 2008

30 million…………we should def sell…………..just hope we actually use the money

71. Jack Scurvy - 4 July, 2008

Well put, Tony. I don’t entirely disagree with what Cali Steve is saying, but I’m also not about to tell a fellow fan how to feel.

What Manu’s let himself get into here, for stupidity or money or both, has hurt people. And they’re reacting. You can’t blame them for being harsh. If he stays, I’ll cheer for him. It will leave a bit of a sour taste in my mouth, but I want the side to win. There’s too many other deserving lads at the club to waste time booing one of them. If he goes, then happy trails. I suspect he’ll find the grass is not so much greener where he lands. You can’t argue with 30 goals in a season, but I fully believe he would not have scored even 15 with a lesser supporting cast.

And FFS… what flagrant abuse of a perfectly good cell phone you suggest. I wouldn’t have a piss into Assley Hole’s mouth even if his bicuspids were on fire. And Franny: You may find that fat birds make quite generous lovers.

72. Richard Goh - 4 July, 2008

Get rid of him that piece of s*** welcome Yaya and Eto.

73. ArsenalKenya - 4 July, 2008

stephane.courbis@lemondedufoot.com

Please e-mail the cunt’s fucking agent and share all these views with him.

May the Arsenal curse follow you Adebayor forever and you rot on the benches at Barca…..

PACK UP AND GO YOU STUPID GREEDY a*RSHOLE.

74. Matt - 4 July, 2008

Fuck me! 30 Million :D ! Crazy money for someone whos control is worse then a 6 years olds! Gotta take it, there are plenty of other players out there who can score 30 goals a season with the service he gets at Arsenal.

His wage demands are absoloutly crazy 120 000! Thats what best player in the world Ronado earns at Man Utd. If he worth 120 000 a week to Arsenal, then what is Fabregas worth, 1mill a week?

Hes believed his own hype…

Its too good to be true, take the money and run. Get in someone who wants to play for Arsenal.

75. motorhead - 4 July, 2008

we dont need that shit of ego-bayor!
so tell him to go away…

76. jlp - 4 July, 2008

agree

77. OzGoonerGuy - 4 July, 2008

Tony Adams – basically agreeing with you overall. I think Arsenal fans should be angry. The guy is a disgrace and has to go.

Those that say fans who slag him off are not true Arsenal fans. This makes me furious. It makes no sense. My loyalty is to the club first beyond any individual and has been for more than 30 yrs. Ade has shown no regard for the club (or the boss or the fans). To borrow someone’s words – ‘We don’t want his type around here.”

Why defend a guy who’s treating the club like a doormat?

78. Lettraggad - 4 July, 2008

First of all Ade’s been a bit stupid here agents have clearly given him a big head.Ade your good but you are not close to being the Henry of old.id prefer him to stay ,Ade is the plan B weve been lacking for so long and hes is unique ..although sloppy sometimes in front of goal .. his speed, technique and workwrate is quite unique for a guy of his stature lets not forget that the guy is negotiating with his employer id go to grat lengths to secure more money for myself and my family.
If 30m£ is on the table .. we should sell NOW !. As someone already pointed out that would give as Etoo and Yaya. Everbody is hungry for DavidVilla but samuel Etoo is the worlds best striker ,and has been for some time although maybe not the most likeable guy on the planet he could do wonders for us.. can you imagine a strikeforce consisting of Etoo,Rvp,(Eduardo)…damn Im drewling already.

79. Connolly's agent - 4 July, 2008

I don’t know.

If you were being rational, you’d say that everyone has his price and you can understand that a guy would want to move on if he’s being offered crazy money. If you were being rational, you’d forgive and forget if he realised he jumped the gun, that Barca won’t pay him that much money, and he came crawling back to us. Because, at the end of the day, he fits very well into our system and there are very few players who can play in that position as well (off the top of my head, it’s just him and Drogba).

If you want to be irrational about it, it’s your choice, people. Scream shit and yell like 8 year old kids. No one has a right to tell you to shut up. Just, play nice, okay?

I will say that Adebayor was a better striker and a better person with cornrows in his hair. This new buzz-afro has done strange things to his brain.

80. diceman1984 - 4 July, 2008

What do you mean TH14 said idiotic things before he left? What things??? He has never ever said anything bad about this team at all, get a grip! He’s the best player ARsenal ever had and he will always be a hero no matter how much it saddens me to see him play for another club.

And for the Ade part; I liked Ade, I think that he was great last season no matter how many chances he missed. Remember that Henry was the player who missed a lot of chances also. Just like I said, where would we be last year without the guy??? And don’t say Bendtner, he’s not ready yet.

BUT, I am also very mad at him and his a-hole agent saying a lot of shit recently. There’s a guy who wrote that he will be here next season and I agree. I think no teams in their right mind will pay 30 mil for him. Would it be awkward? Maybe but I remember cheering that money-grabbing Cole on after the incident in that hotel for one reason, I want Arsenal to WIN, no matter what!!!!!!!!!

I’m not saying anything, I just want people to look more closely. 70-80% of what’s going is, I think, due to the damn agent (s). Look at Hleb, he never said one word about moving, all said by his agent. Agents get a lot of commissino when selling players so they want players to move, every year if they can even. They don’t care shit about the team or the players, so we should aim the shit-talking more to those agents. But I still wish Ade would go for 30 mil though, damage is done and the club can use the money.

Diceman1884,

How can you not remember all the shit Henry was saying? It was well funny. First he said Walcot has no willy, then he said Clichy likes bums, and to top it all off he called Wengers wife a fat slapper who cant cook for shit

82. diceman1984 - 4 July, 2008

My point exactly

83. William - 4 July, 2008

Let Adebayor leave. We can get a better striker in the names of Santa Cruz. Yes he did score 30 goals but if it was another better striker we would have won the title with more goals than that. Please wenger sell him and buy Santa Cruz.

84. Connolly's agent - 4 July, 2008

Dice: Even if 70-80% of all this shite is said by the agents, it’s all done at the behest of the player. As an agent myself, I know whose hand is stuffed up my bum and making me say those stupid things. Hleb’s agent said all those hurtful things, but Hleb kept silent. He knows the score: if he speaks out, he loses his loyalty fee.

Ozgooner: You realise that a few months later, Peter Hill-Wood (he of that infamous quote) has embraced Stan Kroenke as a part of the Arsenal board? Money talks, bullshit walks. Hideous overreaction by a hideously overreacting chairman.

Bloghead: Don’t talk crap about Wenger’s wife. That’s despicable.

85. Blog Head - 4 July, 2008

Connolly’s agent,

Its true though, her cakes always sink in the middle

86. Peter Storey"s Cat - 4 July, 2008

Arsene is stubborn but even he wont keep Ade and turn down £30m.When we do sell him we should use the money to purchase 3-4 players.A CH,a holding midfielder,a winger and a striker.Yes Ade scored 30 goals BUT what about the MISSES in the big games last season at Old Trafford and Anfield in the CL.

Join queue to carry Ade”s bags to the airport. Can he please take that pile of crap Eboue with him

87. diceman1984 - 4 July, 2008

Eboue was used in the wrong position. Before Sagna arrived Eboue did very good at right back. He’s very bad at right winger though so he shouldn’t start any game if Sagna is fit.

88. Mickey C - 4 July, 2008

How the fuck has Adebayor had offers? This must be tapping up and should be reported.

Agents and spanish clubs are all the same – cock sucking mutha fuckas

89. bobo - 5 July, 2008

Dont blame player (Ade or Hleb). They are good player and he deserve to get better wage. And they will give our club so much money for use. See Flamini go went he finish contract? we dont get anything on this talented player. Some player have their own reason to leave for money and some player will stay went they think they feel happy in our club.U’ll must understand and be respect. For me Arsene is the best man and he know what he do. How much he pay for Ade monaco (7mil) and Hleb and how much he can get if he sell this 2 player?? With that money he can buy the new player that he think good even not a starplayer. Who knows Ade, Hleb, Sagna, Clichy, Flamini FABREGRAS? I believe Arsene can develope another young player to be superstar and sell to stupid rich club like MILAN,BARCA,R,MADRID,INTER and many others stupid club that ONLY SPEND their money but still got any cup. Becoz they dont have people like Arsene, search young player and develope to be the best player . 1st thing,he get so much profit if he sell this 2 player (50mil) and get so much choise to buy other player he want. Maybe he and we’ll can get/see better player from that money this season. Big name is not the key to win if they dont no how to use..Like our King HENRY. Maybe he get so much money but give nothing special for new club. We still the one of the big club on EPL & Euro. For all,be patient

90. diceman1984 - 5 July, 2008

Bobo: good point but why wouldn’t you blame the players?

Playes these days damand UNREALISTIC wages which if not for Chelsea and those spoiling so-called big clubs for the past few seasons would never dream of.

One good season always = money money money

I mean what the f, I know money is important but who made you this good? Who made you this well-known? For me, I think players should consider what the club and WENGER did for them too. IT should be 50-50 not like they all said, “I’m good and I make the team better so I want more money, NOWWNOWWWW!). That’s Bull-S.

Why do we never hear anything like this from CESC? He’s only like the best player we have right now and HE should be demanding stuff, he doesn’t, at least not in public anyway. And look what he’s rewarded? If I’m not mistaken, he’s already got 2 new contracts. Hah, and people said we don’t pay our players fairly.

Some players don’t even think they’re lucky enough already to be wearing the ARSENAL jerseys at all.

91. bobo - 6 July, 2008

Some player will happy to stay and take what they think enough(maybe they still young) who knows what in their mind next season?… some player think what happen on the next season??? Maybe now they make a good quality but who knows? but what happen if they down, injured, and sit on bench all season, and that time they’ll only can think stupid or cry… in this generation not just to be good player, is about money too.. maybe Arsene get some wrong quality player on replacement becoz no buddy perfect, but the player we have now still can play good, otherwise we just keep on the real key player (Fabr) and on the same time develope some player for replace him if he injured or suspended. The only important thing is we just make sure that we have enough player for replace on 1st eleven and not only hope on 1 player. Now the market door is open and we know Arsene did not have more fund to buy all player he want. So,the reason is money, money, money…. sell the 2 player can give benefit for club and the player. Now Football is business, if we have no money, what we can do for keep key player?? we’ll must know if our club have founder like Chelsea, we can keep current player and maybe buy another 5>6 star player. But that’s not mean we can get victory and the same time give manager upset. Give chance for young player (Vela,Walcott,Denilson any many) to improve their game. Maybe we can get better player on replacement. We want see a good and enjoy the game not just to win… I’ll said becoz we know that our Club not have a big budget… if we want be stupid club, buy star player (even the player give nothing) we sell share to Usmanov and we’ll can get what player we want…so all problem can be solve and happy even we haven’t get any trophy and we still happy to be some of the stupid rich club.

92. Fa - 30 July, 2008

wenger please let Ade go, he broke our hearts. he was our hero but now he’s nothing to us!
