Possible new away kit photo & other news… 25 March, 2009

Here is one of the first photos of what could be our new away kit for next season replacing the current Anfield ’89 shirt. First impressions – I quite like it in a strange way. Earlier this season I said how it might be interesting to see Nike remake the old green away shirt of the 80′s and it looks like they might be doing it.
Obviously we’ll get no confirmation of what our new kit is until the summer but this could be it. No idea about how legitimate this image is but it looks a decent copy – might be a Nike prototype. Just thought I’d share it with you, if I hear any more news or see anything else I’ll post it up. I know a lot of people don’t like this already but cheer up, it could be worse.
There’s really not a lot going on this week. With everyone away on international duty Arsenal news has been in short supply…
There is a bit of team news, Silvestre is fit again recovering from his ‘three week’ injury after two and a half months. He completed 90 minutes for the reserves on Monday night in the 0-0 draw with Chelsea. I really doubt we’ll be seeing much of him this season. Djourou, Gallas, Toure and probably Song are all ahead of him in the pecking order so it’d take some terrible luck with injuries before we saw him.
Manuel Almunia has been talking about the possibility of playing for England again. He’s planning on applying for a British passport in January and then if Fabio Capello wants him then he will have a think about it. I think it’d be great to see him playing for England, I’d definitely welcome another Gunner representing my country. I can imagine i would be a tough decision for Manuel but we’ll see. I think he might be tempted, I doubt he’d get another chance to play in a World Cup.
Well that’s it for today then. Will try to speak to you tomorrow, might have to make some news up. Until then.

I like it! If this is it, I’ll be getting myself one with perhaps a SAGNA on the back.
disgusting…away shirt should always be yellow
I like the kit.
I don’t think it is it. It has some sort of a price tag on its arm and a prototype would never ever have that.
Green is good
but the picture is fake!
I believe its some sort of colour inversion photoshop job. I hope it is coz that is awful. The blue kits we’ve had in this decade are better, but the gold one which won the title at OT in 2002 is the best!! or maybe that funky blue one
Man’s Utd kit is a joke lol. It might help them win a few away games coz opponents wouldnt take them seriously enough.
i think this one is kinda cool, actually..don’t agree that we should have yellow away shirt as i quite liked the white, and i thought our 3rd shirt last season was wicked-awesome
I like this kit, it looks good. Never seen arsenal play in green in my life time. Hopefully it will bring us more success than last time we had this colour in 82/83!
If he does declare for England it’ll be handy if Blatters 6+5 rule comes in.
I quite like the new green away, as ever I shall be sporting the long sleeve version, but yeah its a winner.
I THOUGHT KIT WERE ONLY TO BE CHANGED EVERY 2 YEARS
its rank,i liked the red and blue 1 from a couple of seasons ago even the white 1 but not this tho, tommo the home 1 is 2 seasons but nike normally do the away 1 every season
I liked the white one. that for me was the best away kit. I say bring it back.
Its Hideous
that green away shirt is disgusting. the worst away shirt for many years. why Green? It was dropped very quickly in 1982 because everyone hated it, so I cant see that ‘tradition’ can possibly be the reason.
why the fuck dont arsenal have 4 shirts designed and then ask all members to vote for their favourite? that would ensure the winner was popular. even if you didn’t vote for the winner, at least you could accept it was the most popular and buy it. This way, no arsenal fan wants to be associated with it. Gazidis should sort this out.
I quite like green and black. It’s a nice combo, looks a bit Irish. Probably a bit too dark to be a useful away jumper – you kind of want bright colours for that – maybe more of a clash one. I wonder why there aren’t any clubs with green/black as a jumper?
Agree with Gazzap, actually, about the voting. But I do like green.
this is crap. y do arsenal have to keep changing their away tops. first this seasons mustard yellow and now green. both disgusting. arsenal should have 3 tops, red and white (home) and either white or blue(away). i love the white tops. gunners for life
we should get another blue away kit
Its one of the worst items of clothing ever made
looks like a 1 day cricket shirt lol its horrid!
It must be made ny Ben Sherman
I think we should have a blue kit with white sleeves, We have never had an away kit with white sleevs, and i think it would look good with the blue kit.
I do quite like it, it’s different. Love the current yellow one but this is the anniversary year so I can understand why it’s only around one season, still I think they could’ve kept it for two. Didn’t like the white…too spurs-like for me. I think blue is alright though.
I think it looks quite good and the final version will probably look even better if this is the basic design, although I do prefer this season’s away shirt.
I think it’s very nice looking forward to when it is released
And it shouldn’t matter what colour it is or how it looks. At the end of the day as long as it carries our beloved teams badge and name on its brest, is all that should matter.
Jay, Its shit
Nice jersey.. wouldnt mind it, but has anyone seen the other photo for the away kit? the white jersey with pinstripes… its beautiful.. i would well prefer that one to the green one but the green one is still alright…Xx P.S Here’s the pinstripe kit website: http://www.newsoccerjerseys.com/200910-pinstripe-arsenal-away-jersey-204.html
the only problem is that we’ll clash with the grass
the only problem is that well clash with the grass
