A quick update 28 March, 2009

Just dropping in to let you know the dull international break hasn’t killed me. Yes, I’m suffering but I think I’m going to make it.
Thought I better write something seeing as I was away yesterday. Haven’t really got time to write a full-length blog post, sorry, but I’ll fill you in on the news.
There’s been a bit of talk today about Cesc Fabregas’ future with us. He’s said he’s happy at Arsenal for now and is flattered by all the interest in him but he wont be following any of it up right now. He has admitted that he will think about his future at some point but is committed to us for now. It’s been a frustrating season for him picking up the first major injury of his career just after being made captain of the club but I’m sure he’ll be massive for us in the remaining couple of months. Here’s what he’s been saying:
“I do not close the door to anyone and I never did it. Every player has his own way to live his life. Every summer he assesses how the season has been, if he is happy or if he can improve. But at the moment two months of competition are remaining. I have just recovered from injury after spending four months out, and the only thing I must be focused on is playing football because it is what I like.
I cannot control what people say about me, anyway it is incredibly flattering that the two biggest clubs in the history of football are saying such things about me. If Wenger asks me to stay, for sure I will remain with Arsenal. If someone wants me, first of all he needs to speak to Arsenal.”
I like that last paragraph, it makes me feel a bit more confident he will stay. No one will blame him if he decides it’s time to move on, we can’t control that but I’m hoping he’s here for many years to come yet.
He’s also been saying that he is in contention for next week’s game vs. Man City but it is up to the coaches. I’m back in London for a few weeks over Easter and this will be my first game in a while so I’m really looking forward to it, and if I get to see Cesc too that’d be great.
Oh and he’s completely over the whole spitting incident too…
There’s a nice interview with Tomas Rosicky here for those of you with ATV Online talking about his return to football. He should be back playing net month and can’t wait to get back out on the pitch. It’ll be great to see him playing for Arsenal again, this time it will really be like a new signing…
And apparently we never had a problem with Adebayor playing for Togo. That’s that settled then. I expect he’ll be back playing for us next weekend then.
Right I’ve really got to go now. I’m sure there’ll be plenty of fresh injuries or something to talk about tomorrow. Thanks for reading.

Bendtner went off after 30 mins in Demark’s game Sat nite at Malta.
Anybody know what happened? There are no matches reports available yet.
Cheers!
(Oh, Ade scored the winner in a 1-0 victory over Cameroon — also missed a penalty — and RVP scored for the Dutch v Scotland.)
Sad news: Bendtner went off with a knee injury.

What a shame. The way he’s been playing lately I prefer him to Ade.
