johan-djourou-plymouth-fa-cup Just a quick post today because I’m so busy with work, but I better keep you updated. Wenger’s brought us up to date with the injury situation and I guess it’s mainly good news:

“From Tuesday night we are quite safe. We will rotate a little bit again but we have no major injuries from Liverpool.

Manuel Almunia was in full training today and we’ll see how he responds. Djourou was in full training also so we’ll see how he is too. Both could come back into the squad. It is not enough training to say [for sure] yet we need 48 hours more.

Emmanuel Adebayor should come back into the training on Saturday. He could be in the squad. But Robin van Persie is definitely out for Sunday and for Manchester United. Gael Clichy could be back for the second Manchester United game. He has a scan on Monday. We’ll go from there. He has a chance to be back in full training next week.”

That’s good about Almunia and Djourou training today, I do hope they are fit to play on Sunday because our defense has not been great of late. I don’t think that Adebayor will be rushed for Sunday but it is good to know that those three will be back for the 1st leg of the Champions League Semi.

We’re looking at the second leg for van Persie and Clichy and although it was a bit of a surprise to lose them I guess it’s good we will get them back for when it really matters, finger’s crossed.

Wenger also confirmed that Gallas and Rosicky will be out for the season. We’ve had so many answers on Rosicky’s return it’s unreal. I hope just hope he has a good recovery over the summer ready for a strong pre-season. If he’s still injured by then well that’ll be a bit of a joke but we’ll think about that if we come to it.

Cesc Fabregas was visibly upset when he left the field on Tuesday night with the way we had conceded in injury time. He’s been talking about our defense saying we need to do better if we want to make it to Rome. I think we’re all a bit annoyed we couldn’t hold on to the win at Anfield but we’ll get over that. However a late goal like that against Man United could be extremely damaging. We need to keep the defense tight and show more concentration. It’s good that we have Almunia, Djourou and Clichy coming back soon with Sagna already working his way to fitness.

new away kitYou might remember me showing you this kit a few weeks ago. There were mixed opinions but personally I would quite like us to have that shirt. If you also like it then you can buy it here off this site! They say they know it hasn’t been confirmed but they are still selling copies of it if you want it. They also have a few more shots of their replica up there if you want to have a look. Thought I’d just pass that along to you incase you were interested.

And finally, regulars will know about the relationship I have with SoccerPro.com and they have sent me some more stuff. I’m playing in the Arseblog 5-a-side tournament this Saturday and they’ve sent me some new goalkeeper gloves for that. I’ve also got a couple of these new Calle t-shirts – I’d never heard of them before but they’ve got some quite nice stuff so go check out the Calle soccer gear if you get a chance.

Soccer Pro deliver around the world and got all sorts of football stock and sale items. Go have a look if you get a chance.

Right well I really better be off. Maybe speak to you tomorrow if I get a chance but I’m not promising anything.

See ya.

fail

4. Arshavin, Arsene and Arsenal - 23 April, 2009

Do you reckon we’re ever going to see Eduardo again?

Presumably the starting lineup at OT will be something like

Almunia
Sagna Toure Djourou Clichy
Song
Walcott Denilson/Diaby Fab Nasri
Adebayor

with the the team against Boro

Fabianski
Eboue Toure Silvestre Gibbs
Nasri Denilson/Diaby Fabregas Arshavin
Bendtner Eduardo

Not sure about Denilson/Diaby at the moment.
Denilson has been anonymous in the last two games and Diaby is a liability.

Getting past Villareal and getting beat by Chelsea was always on the cards.
It doesn’t take a genius to work out we should beat Boro at home but then struggle at OT (unless we suddenly learn how to defend again).
Fingers crossed we get two good results.

6. derek - 23 April, 2009

I like the jersey too. I just bought one off the side. Here’s to hoping I don’t get ripped off.

does anyone here know what wenger said in his press conference about not playing arshavin against helsea i really want to know

Jay - 23 April, 2009

Find out tomorrow. As I said before I really do like the green/navy and hope it will be our new kit. Great news regarding Almunia and Djourou they won’t play on Sunday but should face Manure.

Why is arsene wenger leaving eduardo on the bench when he’s not injured, can anybody tell me?i expected him in the game against chekski or liver.

9. clive gilbert - 23 April, 2009

it beat my imagination that a proven goal scorer like eduardo is not playing when he is not injured but can play a liability like bendtner.please diaby has no business playing in man.u match,he was an embarssment against chelsea.what is wrong with dennilson?he has not been doing well lately

10. Vertino - 23 April, 2009

I think Wenger is biding his time with Eduardo because he can’t bear the thought of playing him only to get injured again. That and/or he is saving him up for the UTd semis where we will need a sharp finisher…Otherwise I don’t really know why he is on the bench either

11. Arshavin, Arsene and Arsenal - 24 April, 2009

It sounds like Clichy won’t make the OT game so Gibbs will play both games.

12. Old Git - 24 April, 2009

The shirt’s a fake. It says “fabrique EN Portugal” and should say “fabrique AU Portugal.” Dead giveaway.

13. walter - 24 April, 2009

Hope Eduardo plays Sunday an hope he doesn’t get injured again. If he has a decent game, maybe we see him at OT if needed. Maybe Vela comes on the pitch next sunday ?

14. SA Gooner - 24 April, 2009

‘Fabrique au Portugal’ would be French. So unless it is made for the French market why would it not say ‘made in Portugal’ or be written in Portuguese?
If it was written in Portuguese it would be ‘Feido em Portugal’ Made in Portugal or ‘Fabrigado em Portugal’ presumably.
Whether it is a fake or just a spelling error on an authentic shirt I do not know. There are plenty of examples I am sure of authentic shirts having difficulties with translations.
I prefer the away shirt than the home one this season as I identify arsenal with all white sleeves in the red strip. The stripe looks too ‘normal’ and is better in the blue and yellow. This ‘new’ strip looks like the referee has had a collision with a gaolkeeper and is well um…ugly and boring. You can never tell until you see the teams at a distance though.
Where is Eduardo? Why is Bendtner chosen over him? Who is Diaby? Why was Arshavin not played for the Chelsea match? The man was possessed the other day.

15. Fauwazg - 24 April, 2009

Why is arsene wenger leaving out eduador,he should be used in place of the injured v.persie.Cos i think he has more experience than bendtner.!!!!!!

16. Arshavin, Arsene and Arsenal - 24 April, 2009

Boro

Fabianski
Eboue Toure Silvestre Gibbs
Diaby Fabregas Denilson Arshavin
Bendtner Eduardo

ManUtd

Almunia
Sagna Toure Djourou Gibbs
Song Fabregas Denilson
Walcott Nasri
Adebayor
