Walcott out for a month but Nasri almost back 19 October, 2009

No official match report for the weekend’s game mainly because I wasn’t able to catch much of it. I managed to get off work early and rushed home to watch the second half but all the internet streams I came across we’re a bit shit to be honest.
We played alright, it was nothing as special as we have seen this season, this time we had to grind out the result. Two early goals looked like we we’re cruising but Birmingham got one back putting the pressure on. In the end it took a bit of class, experience and composure from Arshavin making it 3-1 from a counter attack.
The game was marred by an incident in the 33rd minute. Theo Walcott was brought down by Liam Ridgewell in a quite unnecessarily tough challenge. He was down for some time, the last time the two sides met the same thing happened – it was the infamous Eduardo leg-break. The visiting fans took quite some pleasure in this and started chanting Martin Taylor’s name. It’s obvious why they we’re singing it, he wasn’t even on the pitch so it’s not as if they we’re just supporting him. Arsene Wenger wasn’t happy, neither was I but it just showed how classless they are.
The injury to Theo is going to keep him out for three to four weeks which is a shame. He’s only just come back and now he’s out again after a stupid tackle. 2009/10 was supposed to be a big season for Theo Walcott – the 2009 part of it hasn’t gone so well for him so far.
It’s not all bad news today though today. Samir Nasri and Lukasz Fabianski are making their returns from injury in tomorrow night’s reserve trip to Wolves. It will be good to have them both back, especially now that Walcott is injured. Next Wednesday we kick off in the Carling Cup and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Nasri and Fabianksi play, if not start in that one.
Arsene Wenger’s been talking about Real Madrid, Xabi Alonso and Gareth Barry here if you fancy a read. He says about how he can’t leave this young side now, however tempting a move to Spain is.
There’s a bit more team news today as the squad fly out to Holland for tomorrow night’s game. Rosicky is out with a knee problem but Wenger says he will be only be out for a few days. Let’s hope that’s true and he’s back for West Ham on Sunday because he’s actually been really good this season. Gael Clichy is back in after missing out this weekend through injury but Bendtner, Denilson, Eduardo and Djourou are all still out. There’s still no place in the squad for Phillippe Senderos which is a bit upsetting. I genuinely thought he was going to get a second chance at Arsenal but obviously Wenger does not have him in his plans. It’s a shame, but Wenger Knows.
Well they’ll be more talk of tomorrow night’s game tomorrow, but for today that’s your lot. Thanks for reading.

I LOVE THE CANNON KEEP IT UP,i dont feel sorry for senderos, gallas and vermaelen are inseperable if fit so until 1 of them gets injured(fingers crossed)phil will have to wait to get his chance, maybe an outstanding game against liverpool next week will turn wengers head again
Arsene said that Big Phil had picked up a slight knock in training and I am assuming that is why he is not travelling.
