was also at game but in with the home crowd as had gone with a wolves supporter with a spare ticktet. agree the home support was great considering they were getting well beat. most of the people sitting round me were in awe of our passing and movement even though i didnt think we played brillant.
around ground and stadium were fine with asda right next to ground, but town seemed a bit run down to me. it is the black country though!!
anyway a good 3 points on the road lets hope for the same result at the S.O.L.

Fantastic! I love the writeups about trips and gameday experiences… keep them coming. I remember your writeup of the San Siro… fucking the best! This is the stuff you can only dream of living here in San Francisco.

One day I’ll make the big trip over the pond to watch the Arsenal… one at the Emirates and one at some god awful, wet cold place where i can get drunk, sing my head off, and witness the home supporters sing stupid songs like “we support the local team”. Great stuff.

I went to Wolves too but had a brilliant day. The walk from the station to Molineux gave a good impression of the town and their support. The pubs were full of happy singing fans and no sense of any hostility.

The area around the ground was open, clean, nice atmosphere with very good food vans. The chicken tikka on a freshly made naan bread was worth the trip alone frankly. Bloody lovely.

Agree with your comments about match and how the away stand was too long and thin for organsided chanting but good to be down at pitchside rather than up high. I thought their fans were fantastic. Singing “lets pretend we’ve scored a goal” and jumping around was priceless. Can you imagine that at the whinging Grove if we were 4-0 down? After the match I went to a home pub (hiding my red and white) and they were singing “One all in the second half”!!!

I really hope they survive as that was a great day out. Come with me next year chef!
